Mine was pwm chip well I narrowed it down after stripping it 7 times 😂😂😂 all the resisters around that area were shorting.I only changed thermal paste it was working before that.
Good day, please I have a question. Not sure if it's similar to what's on this video. My PS3 turns on fine sometimes. I get to the games , run the games , after some time it trips off. Then when I try turning it on again, it trips off immediately. What could be the possible issue?
The power supply might be failing, which could explain why the PS3 shuts down after some time. You could test the power supply or try a replacement if you have access to another one. Inspect the motherboard and secondry power supplies like 1.8, 1.2, 1.5, 1.00 and 5.00 volts for any faulty resisters (deteriorated ones). If you find any, they may need to be replaced. If the issue is related to a cracked or cold solder joint on the CPU or GPU, performing a reflow (carefully heating the chip to re-establish connections) could help. If you try any of these solutions or need more help, feel free to reach out!

Hi I have a question my PS3 fat keeps on turning off and blink red After atleast 3-5 mins of using I tried to clean the ventilation and change the thermal paste but still in occur. Please help.
May be some resistance component varying its value, HDD would have a hell of bad sector or CPU need to re-flow it. You can watch my other videos about this issue if you like.
First, ensure that the DC-to-DC converter is receiving the proper input voltage. If the input voltage is missing or too low, the output (1.8V rail) won't function correctly. Use a multimeter to probe the input side of the converter to see if it's getting the expected voltage, often around 5V or 12V, depending on the console design. Since you mentioned no oscillation on the choke, it suggests the converter may not be switching properly. An inductor (choke) should typically show some activity (ripple voltage) if the converter is working. Most DC-to-DC converters have a PWM controller and MOSFET that manage the switching for the voltage regulation. If either of these components is faulty, the converter won't work. Check the MOSFET for short circuits or unusual resistance values. It’s common for MOSFETs in these circuits to fail. If the PWM controller isn’t producing the switching signal, the output will be low. Check for any signal output on the gate of the MOSFET. If there's no switching, the PWM controller might be the problem. Inspect the capacitors around the converter, as bad capacitors can lead to low or missing voltage rails. If no obvious faults are found, consider replacing the PWM controller or MOSFET if they show signs of failure.

I have a question. In my ps3 super slim the reader has stopped working, when you try to read the game the lens moves a little and then but it doesn't read the juice and it makes a noise, the disc doesn't move only if you move the lens. Cleaning the lens is not because I have cleaned it several times with isopropyl alcohol and nothing. Please help
@@idreestech oh, that makes more sense, although I used to leave time and time between each cleaning but it makes more sense. Now what should I do? do I change the lens or can I fix it somehow?
When a PS3 turns off immediately after turning on, it’s often indicative of a hardware issue, such as overheating, power supply failure, or internal component failure. However, without opening up the console, your options for fixing it are limited. Here are a few potential causes and some steps you can take before resorting to opening up the PS3: Potential Causes: Overheating: The system might shut down immediately due to overheating protection. If the thermal paste has degraded or the fan isn't working properly, the PS3 could shut down to prevent damage. Power Supply Issues: If the power supply is faulty, the PS3 may not be receiving the proper voltage to stay on. A power supply that fails under load could cause immediate shutdowns. Software Issues: Although rare, corrupted system software or an issue with the firmware can sometimes cause the PS3 to shut down immediately. A hard reset or software recovery could help here. Faulty Components: Faulty capacitors, MOSFETs, or other critical components on the motherboard could cause a shutdown, especially if there’s a short circuit or similar failure. Steps to Try Without Opening the Console: Power Cycle the PS3: Disconnect the power cable from the back of the PS3. Wait 5-10 minutes for any residual power to drain from the system. Plug the power cable back in and try turning it on again. This sometimes clears temporary power issues. Check for Overheating: Ensure the PS3 has proper ventilation. Remove any dust or debris from the air vents, and place the PS3 in a well-ventilated area. Try using compressed air to blow out dust from the vents (without opening the console). If overheating is the issue, you may want to try keeping the PS3 off for an extended period before attempting to turn it on again. Try a Different Power Outlet: Plug the PS3 into a different outlet to ensure the problem isn’t related to insufficient or unstable power from the wall. Boot into Safe Mode: Turn off the PS3 completely by holding down the power button until it beeps and powers off. Then, hold down the power button again until you hear two beeps, one initial and one a few seconds later. This will boot the PS3 into Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, you can try to rebuild the database, restore the file system, or even restore the PS3 to default settings (though this will wipe data). Check for Power Button Issues: Sometimes, the power button can get stuck or faulty, causing the console to shut off immediately after being pressed. Make sure the button isn’t stuck or malfunctioning. If None of These Work: If none of these steps resolve the issue, the underlying problem might be hardware-related, such as a failing power supply, bad capacitors, or a defective motherboard. In that case, opening up the console would be the next step to diagnose and repair the issue. Since you've worked on PS3 consoles before, you could consider investigating the internal components if you're comfortable with that.
I have a question, can I raise the voltage in the avo meter without an oscilloscope because I do not have it? Can you make a video of the places of the basic voltages that need to be measured and the value of each voltage?
@GiddyUpCamping If your PS3 isn't staying on long enough like 30 Seconds for boot mode, it could probably be the HDMI encoder chip causing the issue. You might need to replace it.
