    Awesom Dr. .. well done..
    I have a simillar impacted upper left 3..it was semi horizontal.. in the x_ray.. you can see only the crown.. below the nose.. the roots were hidden.. and thanks God.. every thing was alright..and the case is about to finish.
    Dr. please.. how can you deal with the impegment of power chain in the gum during traction on miniscrew?

    My son is 12yrs old and have an impacted canine tooth#6 (in palate and horizontal). We had the oral surgeon attach the gold chain but after almost 6month my son's orthodent showed an x-ray that the chain is detached and there has been (after six months) no move. She suggests we extract the tooth. The tooth is horizontal and in the palate right under the nose. I am not sure why the gold chain is detached though. And I am not sure if we should stop trying again and just remove the tooth which means we should implant a new tooth. I am not sure if the oral surgery was not successful in terms of bonding properly, anchoring or other stuff, or the orthodontic work applied too excessive pulling force causing the chain to detach or the tooth is basically stuck badly in palate and cannot move (like fused in bone and cannot be pulled down), I appreciate your recommendation doctor. Thanks!

      This can happen sometimes. It's due to bond failure and you should try to expose and bond it again. When bonding often is very difficult to have dry field which is obligatory for proper bonding.

    Can this treatment be done in a patient like me 39 years old, healthy gums and bones, I don’t want to lose my tooth it looks healthy inside and I have the space.

    Hello doctor.
    I am 19 and i have impacted canines in my upper jaw(both sides). Their is no space so i have to undergo extraction but my orthodontics suggested me to remove four premolars instead of two. I asked why four then he said something about alinging my teeths properly, also something about my lips cause lower ones are a bit outward as i have all my teeth perfectly aligned on lower jaw only my upper jaw is missing two canines cause it's impacted. I am still confused should I go for four extractions. 🥺🥺
    Plz plz plz reply i got no one to answer this question for me i am conscious about removing four teeths 😭😭.

    • @TheWizardOfOrthodontics
      @TheWizardOfOrthodontics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you may need to remove 2 lower premolars as well. If you need to close space in the upper arch and the incisors touch lower proclined incisors, they should be moved backward. That should be planned properly with a ceph to assess incisor angulation.

    • @sweetyk2728

      @@TheWizardOfOrthodontics Thank you so much doctor for assuring me about extraction.
      I am not sure if I understood everything but i guess it's related to angles and stuffs to make both my jaws equal after extraction of 4 premolars and bringing down two of my impacted canines 😅.
      Let me know if you could.
      I would be grateful 😀.

      Usually, treatment starts with the smallest wires. BUT nowadays, very gentle wires that look very big exist and can be the first wire. Hope you understand what I mean.
