    Props to Coach Carter for going in on how the team dealt with news about Misfits. Also is this some weird esports thing where those within an organization get told that type of information at the same time as everyone else?? Understandable if it somehow gets leaked right when the deal is made, but in this case everyone found out through a tweet from the official misfits account from what I remembered. Takes great leadership to bring the team together when the so called 'leaders' of the organization leave you out to dry.

    I am still of the opinion that TL has the opposite issue of every super team in that i think their players are too willing to let someone else control the pace of the game. And i do think this team falls apart through mid, i kind of think if bjerson was in his previous form these issues wouldnt of held that back in Na.

    • @ParallelZuVega
      @ParallelZuVega 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      100% agreed. They all seem like quiet and agreeable people that would love to accommodate someone who's demanding things.
      The only exeption is Bwipo, who argues a lot and has strong opinions on the game, but if you've ever seen him talking outside of the game he has somewhat of a "hero complex" where he loves to fall on the sword for someone else and sacrifice himself in a way.
      Combine that with NA's usual weak laning across the board and you get a team that does literally nothing.

    • @loxi9
      @loxi9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Man if only they had a midlaner known for demanding resources and putting the team on his back? A little bit infamous for engaging in some trolling back in S3 as well? His name was like What In Tarnation or something cringe but he changed it to his last name last time I checked...

      They lack a vocal leader like Perkz,Jensen,Jankos, Inspired. People who are there to tell people to shut the fuck up and follow what i say. I want this, need this, focus on Top/Mid/bot since they got the lead. And to tell people "NO. DON'T SACRIFICE FOR OTHER LANES. YOU CREATED YOUR LEAD. USE IT!"

    • @balance1619
      @balance1619 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only super team that kind of worked was KT., and honestly smeb and score were roleplayers at that point and on their way out. They don’t work because there is too much ego. You need roleplayers every good team has roleplayers. This team there is 100 percent something going on behind the scenes, their bot lane is playing way worst and bjerg looks washed and has his typical bjerg effect on teams(team only plays to win in NA). Hope Steve keeps bwipo and santorin and replaces the rest. Maybe keep Corejj on the bench and see if he returns back to form.

    4:02:12 - I'd add that Rox was also a victim of LCK's horrible playoffs back in Spring 2016. Being #1 in the split got them an automatic spot in finals. By the time it was finals, Rox hadn't played a real game of LoL in 15 days while SKT had played 2 Bo5's 6 days ago. And Rox actually had #1 locked in 2 weeks before the end of the split so their last games weren't really taken as seriously by the team.

    What i cant wrap my head around is that if certain champs are meta and has a counter. But x player does not have that champ as their top 3,so its not worth a ban since they are not picking it.. when we are at week 5 of this, why have they not still learned that champ better.. at a pro level you should learn this pretty quick conpared to a rookie, and most likely have played the champs for your role to a degree before.

    3:24:14 the slots I personally think would be best for 16 teams would be: 3x LCK, 3xLPL, 3xLEC, 2xLCS, VCS, PCS, team that won MSI (so spring/MSI matter), extra team from region that won previous year worlds and winner of wildcard qualifier where only wildcards play each other. Ofc if MSI winner got slot from summer another team from their region goes.
    Pooling and other format could be whatever riot wants but with potentially 5 teams from same region it would force them to abandon the same region rule so maybe they would realize that IPL5 format would be better format anyways.

    • @FF-mf2ij
      @FF-mf2ij 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well for me since I would prefer to just have the best 16 teams in the world at worlds, I would say 6x LPL, 5x LCK, 3x LEC, 1x LCS, 1x the winner of a pretournament Bo5 between VCS and PCS. Then if a region other than LPL wins, they will take the 6th slot from LPL for next worlds.

    I have a feeling TL will do some kind of coaching change because when you have this kind of a roster and fail to get enough out of your players to even make worlds, someone's head has to roll. And as funny as Guilhoto is on shows, he knew when he signed up that it was worlds or bust with this roster and if he wasn't able to organize the team and get them there that he would probably be fired. Sad to see so much talent fail so hard, I wonder if we'll ever find out what went wrong.

    • @bomnitoperro9422

      I actually think that bjergsen is one of the major problems. Tsm operated by his comand and drafts. Do you reaoly think that the coach was really capable of controling what players feels to play. Not really.

    • @Gurpreet-sv5zg
      @Gurpreet-sv5zg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have been saying for YEARS that Bjergershit is the most overrated player in the history of League (in all regions). But people, including every caster, analyst, former player etc. defend the guy as if they've been mind-controlled by him. But it was so obvious when TL's whole style of play became so sodden and timid that the source was Bjergsen because he has done that to every team (meaning every iteration of TSM) he's ever played on. The ONLY time it was counteracted is when he had Doublelift...the one player who was obviously willing to overrule Bjergsen and push the team to be aggressive. And Doublelift has said recently that he know CoreJJ always sees the angle and wants to make aggressive plays but has not done it all season and it's almost surely because of Bjergsen. When TL goes into a teamfight Bjergsen is almost AFK, lingering around the fringes often doing zero damage and just waiting to see if TL wins it 4v5 before he will swoop in to clean up kills and pad his KDA. He dove in on Akali against C9 and three C9 players were extremely low and easy kills but lacking vision a full HP Bjergsen then ran away and let all the C9 players just go free. Compare that to JOJO's Akali where he just hunted Abbedaggy across the map and solokilled him in both the top and bot lanes and made it so 100T had to be terrified. Bjergsen's never won jackshit internationally and he never will.

    Leave it to Monte to say Brady taking less money so that his team has more money to spend elsewhere shows he has a weak mentality, while Rodgers taking 50M$ while he hasn't won since 2010 and complains about the rest of the roster shows he is a true winner. Like really? You know literally no one agrees with you right? Probably not even Aaron Rodgers himself would say that.

    EG vs. TL was disgusting as a whole, both teams don't look like they know how to draft still. Danny is just being carried by his team hardcore because he just has terrible positioning, just hanging on to summoners and appears to have the smallest champ pool for a pro. Santorin probably played the best and you gotta feel bad for him cause he just couldn't get them ahead. Honestly EG just lucky TL has no clue what their team identity is and didn't happen to clutch it out because of their experience. It's gonna be really bad watching any NA team play at worlds because they are just gonna get abused in these spread out teamfights LPL and LCK are so good at.

    Hans Sama has always had 3 or 4 amazing games per year while the rest of the year he's just a serviceable adc. He popped off with Lucian against DamWon in Worlds 2021 and with Tristana in Worlds 2017, that's it, that's where all the hype comes from.
    Again, he's definetly not a bad player, he's a good adc that from time to time has incredible peaks, and those peaks used to be in Worlds.

    Western teams should keep trying/gambling on super teams if you have the budget/ambition to do well at Worlds. Cause frankly, I don't think the West has a chance in international titles without a super team. Like this G2 roster can win probably more titles, but internationally, who will have a chance to carry?It's just Caps. That one super team that somehow did work out was 2019 G2 and even then,they had exploitable flaws like one, their abysmal early game, getting exposed by FPX and GRF. Hoping Youngbuck/Carter get to coach top LEC teams next split, and Vetheo/Neon on better teams.

    This still amazes me. Froggen has a storied career being the hard late game carry you can always rely on, was at one point considered the best mid in the world and later the west. Has always been on worse teams than Jensen and Bjrg and somehow managing to be in top 3 mids for stats and 5th place or above overall in the end is splits for team standing, and he has one bad split……not even a bad year….A BAD SPLIT when the split before he was given MVP, and he is outted after one split. While Bjerg can go 0-6 in worlds and even that year struggled to win NA, goes on a break, becomes a coach, comes back and is getting beat and somehow people say he’s not washed. In NA no other player ever has had everything given to him and has achieved nothing internationally. You were given the keys to the kingdom and somehow managed to lose them.

    Top 5 for worlds in order
    1. GenG (If the meta doesn't shift too much, GenG will be massive favorites. They looked next too unbeatable throughout LCK Summer)
    2. JDG (JDG and Top are the only teams atm I can see challenging GenG depending on the meta changes for worlds, considering GenG 3-0'd T1 and barely dropped a game throughout Summer I don't see any LCK teams challenging them atm)
    3. Top Esports
    4. T1 (T1 probably wouldn't make the list if not for the Raw Mechanics they possess and the insane spring season they had this year + Zeus is considered the best player in the world at the moment by a majority of casters/analysts. If Keria and Guma can perform well and alleviate some pressure topside for Zeus and Oner they can make a deep run and maybe even finals. But with engage supports out of the meta and a majority of Guma's champion pool nerfed, will be interesting to see how the T1 botlane performs.)
    5. EDG (Could put Damwon here but they looked very shaky through LCK Playoffs, even though they came close to beating T1 and making finals. EDG makes the list since they're defending Champions and managed to topple a Damwon team last year that many seen as unbeatable.) Safe to say this Worlds is going to be Hype af. Faker chasing his 4th championship.. Defts last ride.. EDG attending to defend the championship.. so many narratives this year, finna be a banger.

    I've asked this since the TL roster was first put together: How are they a Super Team? Bwipo was maybe the 3rd best top in the LEC who moved to Jungle, Santorum coming in was the 5th best Jungler in the LCS, Berj was at best the 3rd best Mid in the LCS BEFORE taking a year off after getting dumpstered at Worlds 0-6, Hans was the 3rd best ADC in the LEC with Rekkless not even on a team. Core JJ OK, I'd have called him the best Support in the West and a top 10 in the world. This isn't 2018 or 2019, at one time some were top talent but not for a couple-three years.
    BTW Diddo Vitality, how are they a 'super team'?

    • @gerbo8018
      @gerbo8018 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A super team isn't getting pound for pound the best players. Its basically getting the best team money can get you.
      Also you compare them to lec when they play in na. Toplaners in na have always been bad, getting a top 3 lec toplaners from a year where they where really strong in lec would be an upgrade for na (theoretically ofc). Hans was easily 2 times better then any na adc except for peak doublelift. He just stopped playing properly when he went to na for some reason. Core JJ is the best support from na by far.
      So if you look at those 3 you can call it already a super team as you'd have 3 best players in 3 roles. Ofc you cannot guarantee they keep playing that way.
      Bjerg .. i honestly don't know why they took him he was a gamble at best.
      Santorin has always been 1 of the better junglers from na.

      Your list is pretty bad. Santorin 5th? Bjergsen 3rd doesn't sound right considering the competition was Jensen and POE. 2nd sounds right. Hans was not 3rd. Rekkles was dog water. Only rekkles fan think he was relevant. G2 kick that trash out and now they're back to top. Got it gingy?

    I think too many pro players have rotted their brains from so much solo queue, with a belief that more soloq means improving skill, when soloq is little more than eye test and snapshots of metas rather than anything deeper. My idea would be to redirect their time towards mastering fundamental mechanics or skills beyond the game, seminar-style macro lessons or homework in games like chess. This way it consolidates a more self-sustaining knowledge base where you don't blindly copy others without self-critical thought. Maybe a good parallel to this would be in CS:GO the way astralis innovated pro-play by syncing time into their intricate team-oriented strategies and nade setups.

    I think League could still get significantly bigger and here's why: think of all the people who have quit the game or never taken it seriously because of the fundamental issues with the competitive game that Riot has been unwilling/unable to address. For example, how are we in S12 and there is still no voice comms in solo queue? For another example, the reason we don't see NA as a very competitive region has a lot to do with the culture of eSports in NA but it also has to do with the complete lack of organized amateur leagues compared to the ERLs in EU. Imagine if Riot let ESEA or another big org started an open league system like they have for CSGO with tournament realms and we actually had a real talent development system in NA.
    I know personally I've pretty much stopped playing League at this point despite still loving the game and being a passionate viewer, simply because the removal of ranked teams (which is mostly what I played from S3-S7 and the toxic nature of a game without a proper communication method that's designed around snowball mechanics makes it not fun to play. I think League could be significantly bigger if Riot had people in charge willing to make the "tough" decisions to grow the game instead of being afraid of the backlash.

    Monte's take on lol stagnation has been my take for a while now as well. LS always want riot to make big patches so lol doesn't stagnate but I think the big patches are the reason lol has stagnated in the first place. Players has no incentive to be innovative when riot changes so much that in the players mind it's more worth to be on top of the meta than actually come up with something new. And riot has kind of fucked themselves with this because if they started patching less frequently people would cry.

    The contention that came from the firing of LS wasn't around the fact that C9 wasn't going to be able to make worlds, or even that firing him wasn't a good overall business decision from their perspective. It was around the fact that NA was never going to win worlds doing the same thing every time -- striving to play like, but end up being a poor imitation of, Asian teams. So if C9 crushes GenG or JDG, then you can say firing him was clearly the right call from the perspective of trying to win worlds. The LS experiment always needed to happen with a lower tier org where the downside risk was lesser, and ample time could be given for the radical ideas and gameplay to be iterated on.

    • @Gurpreet-sv5zg
      @Gurpreet-sv5zg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah that's a terrible take. They fired LS because they realized he was incompetent as a coach. He could not do basic duties that came along with a coach. Firing LS was definitely a good overall business decision since they essentially got a cheaper coach in the long run.
      Getting LS does not even guarantee success at worlds. Only LS shills believe in that where somehow asian teams are confuse on how to punish an Ivern because LS did so in his plat soloq games xD.

    It's perfectly natural to listen to a player that has won as much as Bjergsen has you would be a fool to not do so.
    I mean how do you argue against someone that has a proven history of winning?
    It is pretty damn hard to do so.
    Even if you are a CoreJJ with superb accomplishments as well, the consistency at which Bjergsen was good in the past cannot be denied.
    I would do a runback with this roster considering how much money was poured into it, rather than spend even more money on a new roster only to end up in a similar situation.
    I think they have a good shot at getting to worlds next year maybe Bjergsen just need more time i dunno.
    Personally i think they just had a terrible read on the meta with atrocious drafts.

    I don’t really get the monopoly argument. It’s like saying Apple has a monopoly on iPhones and if you want to design a new one you HAVE to work for them.
    I get the nfl comparison but they still “have a monopoly” on nfl games. If they don’t like a caster they force the networks to make changes. And only approved networks can show the games. Nobody is willing to pay big money for streaming rights to lol it appears or riot would open it up to other platforms. Like they do for costreams.
