I'm really excited to show everyone next video of the series what it looks like half filled. I just forgot to film the ring with each stone as I put them in, but I definitely think it'll be awesome when it's finally done.
That's another brilliant cut, I have been wondering about how people can cut small stones like that, because I bought a 0.8 carat little matrix cabachon and I have a problem just trying to pick it up with my fingers. Man, if I had the same ability that you do, I'd be buying chips and making rings too. I think that would be the best way to make a bit of an income from opal. The big flashy stones I see for sale are beautiful, but it's like painting, you could sell 100 Bob Ross paintings for $100 before you could sell one $1,000 high quality painting. I see a lot of beautiful little stones that would look awesome in a ring, if you can cut them and you can. I really enjoy watching you doing it too.
I'm glad you enjoy watching me work the smaller stones. They can be really hard to hold on to and I'd definitely not be able to work them without dopping lol. But it is pretty satisfying to shape the little ones and get something good out of it, because you get a good little piece and it took less time than the bigger ones. And there is something so rewarding about finishing a stone project no matter how much time it takes, it always feels good.
@carlynscolorfulcreations I've been considering trying out one of those electric tea cup heater coasters to warm up the opals and one of those electric dop wax troughs ? I'm having a problem with my alcohol leaving a residue and fighting the dop wax sticking. 🤷♂️. Something to think about if you run into the same issue.
@@chrissaucier9386 that sounds like it could definitely work. Or like a scented wax heater thing might work too. I guess I never considered the possibility of the alcohol causing issues with sticking, but it makes perfect sense. If I run into that issue aswell I'll definitely talk about it and try out solutions. Let me know what ends up working for you as that information will be very valuable.
Pretty gem indeed. Nice work 😁
Thank you!

Use dop wax and tooth picks for those small stones. It works great.
I just need to wait for my alcohol lamp to get in the mail to use my dop wax, but I will here eventually. Thank you for watching and commenting!
