What are your thoughts on Fairly Oddparents A New Wish? Do you think Hazel is a better protagonist than Timmy?
I didn't have much time watching the original series, but I really enjoyed the new series.
I have seen a few clips on TH-cam, and I think the show looks 100% better than the original series. Hazel is super adorable, and I love Cosmo, Wanda and Peri's personalities 💖
I love this show SO much. I was obsessed with the original as a kid, and now, seeing Cosmo and Wanda acting all sappy again, and Hazel being such a sweet kid, it's healing my childhood lol
I also really like the continuity and character development!
Yes . Hazel is a cinnamon roll while Timmy had turned into an unlikable little douche
I like both Hazel and Timmy, tho Hazel is better because she isn't in danger of Flanderization, because this show isn't being written by Butch Hartman.
Cosmo and Wanda spent 10,000 years alone together on vacation. They doubled the entire length of their marriage with that trip. Clearly they worked shit out already
Their vacation made them a more loving couple.
Hazel helped them stay a loving couple while still being co-workers.

I will argue that... no. This isn't what is happening here. By the time Cosmo and Wanda meet Hazel they are already back to being wholesome lovebirds.
So Hazel didn't fix their marriage. Moving on from Timmy and their retirement did.

@@SodaCider641 Why do we have to even compare them like that? Timmy being more of a jerk I blame the show for going as long as it did and everything being flanderized but before that he was fine.
i honestly prefer a new wish way way way more than the original show. all the characters, including cosmo and wanda, feel so belieavable. i love hazel, she's extremely relatable and seems like a real kid to me. and she's actually a good person. cosmo and wanda actually act like they love each other, instead of making mysoginistic jokes all the time. the production of the show is way more creative and beautiful and i find the art so comforting, i can tell the people who made it really cared a lot about it and put their heart into this show. they had a small budget too and they still achieved so much. i think with such a short amount of time in the season they had, they showed a beautiful amount of all the right things. and it doesn't rely on action constantly.
I still prefer the first 4 seasons of the original show. But A New Wish has a great quality and it is fun, It competes well with those seasons. Some dialogues are so iconic and fun, even if they fall into the "I hate my marriage" trope. Specially in Mexico the lines "Cosmo has algo/Cosmo do something", "No puedo, tengo esposa/I can't I'm married" are pretty much a meme here.
Despite that, I'm glad Cosmo and Wanda are back to being lovebirds that support each other instead of insulting each other. Jesus, making a small rewatch of the later seasons of the og show, its either Cosmo and Wanda just being filler in the background or them fighting.
I love that Cosmo and Wanda are acting like Hazel's actual GodPARENTS! They are so paternal and patient and understanding with her and it's so sweet. Especially Cosmo taking on a dad role because Wanda was always a bit sweeter with Timmy if I'm remembering right.
Also love Peri and and his relationship with his parents and I would love to see him interact more closely with Hazel since Peri is her GodParents Son. He could also learn from them a little bit lol. Awesome video as usual
@@moonchhu I’m so glad this show fixed their relationship. I am glad that Peri was aged up and given a god child. I’d love to see more of his growth as a godparent.

I love that they give Hazel room to learn how to fix her wish before the problem is solved too, there's definitely situations in the show where Wanda seems to be nudging her in the right direction but not outright telling her what to do- probably cause she's allowed to not be a nag andhave emotionsourside of being angry 😭
I like how this show isn't afraid to bring up the disliked parts of the franchise. They could've easily just pretended that everything after season five of the original just didn't happen but they instead take those ideas and improve on them, it's really interesting.
But we can all agree that the Drake Bell movies never happened tho
If only the writers had thought of this years ago instead of… Chloe… or Sparky.
Hey, sometime to get a gem, you gotta make some mistakes. Chloe and Sparky are trial and error. A New Wish was more fleshed out due to time. They had time to reflect

I really hope Vicky goes after Dale in season 2.
I get that he's traumatized but the man almost inflicted the exact same trauma on his son by accidentally inviting her to Dev's party. Hopefully that would get him to finally start paying attention to his son.
Vicky's kryptonite is adults. She would have to target his son because he's a soft target. he may be rich but he's still a neglected kid

I mean some of them are annoying, spoiled and corrupted but some of them are well gentle, kind, smart and cool, they do everything for their parents because they didn't want their family to fall apart but some children don't know anything and they don't know what's going to happen to their parents in fact they don't care all they care about themselves!🙄
if you don't pay attention to your kids only you force them to do the responsibilities you don't do everyday and you yell them by no reason or not listening to them what they want or what they are saying to you which is something important then they would do something worse and not help you

I like what they’re doing with this Show, i hope we get a Season 2, so we could potentially get to see Tootie and/or Trixie again,
Heck, i would even like to see Veronica and Chloe again and hope they get proper care.
By the way, you gotta love it, when a Show surpasses the Original to a certain degree.

Yeah, here even in the beginning Cosmo and Wanda felt more like Timmy's friends than parents, but here Cosmo and Wanda are much more responsible with Hazel even being her in their human forms, which make them feel more like second parents to her
In a way Vicky is the reason why Dale is evil.
Dale is empowered. She says that he was the laziest worker. She did him a favour giving a rich Nepo-baby work ethic. The root of the problem is his generational wealth, though. Rich people are sometimes born with a superiority complex, Dale could've been a Chet Hanks instead of an Elon Musk - who is form a rich family that benefitted from South African Apartheid.

Ngl haven’t been fan of the OG n I didn’t expect much from this new series. Even with Infinity Train writers, I didn’t expect it to blow the internet up n be begging for S2. However now, damm low-key I’m part of the folks who want a S2 cuz this sequel series might be the best way to honor the OG show n even surpass in some areas like Ducktales. Seriously Nick, ya finally have a gold mine so it would be tragic if this show got canned

Timmy had become so unlikeable and such a little shit that at the end of the original show i was actually siding with Vicky half the time 😅
I'm so thankful that all the characters in A new wish are all so loveable and fleshed out and that Cosmo and Wanda have a healthy relationship again . I too am sick of terrible couples in tv shows so it's wonderful to see shows nowadays having more healthy and cute couples.

Wasn't there an episode of the original series where Timmy tried to do nice things for his friends and family and ended up being unappreciated and essentially crapped on for stupid reasons. He proceeds to wish himself into not existing.
At the end of the episode, he somehow appreciates his loved ones for being jerks to him..? It's not really clear, but I do know after this point is about when Timmy started to become more selfish and prickly towards everyone.
So it's not really Timmy's fault. It's more of the writers fault for trying to get HIM to appreciate the people who treat him like dirt or something. Not the people around him learning a lesson with Timmy gone, not Timmy learning a lesson about unexisting. Just "if I do good, I get punished and scolded, maybe if I don't do that, it'll be better!"
Like, sorry for going on a rant, but that episode is so bad, it genuinely hurts.

To be perfectly honest, I like how Cosmo and Wanda have seemingly moved on from Timmy.
Exploring what wishes OTHER kids would make of Cosmo and Wanda were their fairies is still an obvious but intriguing foundation for new ideas and stories. But, whenever this has been tried in the past, it has ALWAYS been tethered to the original main character. I think taking Timmy out of the picture (at least for the time being) was definitely the right move to make this reboot stick out.
And while Hazel does start off as a “weak” protagonist, I do not entirely hate her. But Timmy on the other hand feels like an … outdated protagonist from a different time that would NOT work by today’s standards. But, what I’m trying to say is that I don’t want or need my new main protagonist to be abused in the same way that Timmy did to deserve fairies.
Hazel saving Cosmo and Wanda's marriage makes sense. Timmy was kind of a jerk and that behavior might have influenced Cosmo in some way. In many episodes they had this "boy's club" mentality and would gang up on Wanda for trying to be responsible or just for being a girl.
Maybe it wasn't just Hazel, they needed to spend some time together without Timmy.
