@@HarrisMiller-qw6xh Broccoli thought he was too 'aggressive,' believe it or not. Huge error not to cast Lewis as Bond, he would have nailed it and he had legions of female fans- so plenty of box office draw.
@@liverpoolscottish6430 and the strange thing about it is his aggression in the professionals and who dares wins was what made him perfect for the part, and had that bond type humour he had in both those roles too
@martinhawkrsworth9676 it's a shame he never got the James Bond part, after this movie, I reckon it would've been perfect for the part, but he ended up getting some awful movies later on in his career
Always remember my dad (who'd served with the 17/21st lancers in Malaya and the Hussars in Aden ) called me in the front room on the bank holiday Monday when the Sas took the Iranian embassy and said "Shut up and watch this mte " ,,,
Edward Woodward's 'Callan,' hard enough to roller skate on- made Bond look like a lentil soup eating social worker! Callan would have stormed the embassy alone and done the lot of them! Superb actor.
Brilliant re-mix... really funky back beat... Ever thought about re- mixing the main theme??..... Always thought it lacked some 'oomph' and was a bit short.
Yes mate... Heard it... Both bloody brilliant.. you on my 'funky' playlist when I'm driving to work... Not something you hear every day blaring out of a 'Rover 75'. Lol. 😉😉
Many thanks, this is a remix of the track 'SAS or Nothing' there is no "jazzy keyboard" in the original track, I think you refer to the main theme called simply 'Who Dares Wins' which has a shonky electric piano solo. Either way, thank you for the comment and I am glad you enjoyed the remix.
Stuntmen were all setup to do the SAS parts, but apparently Rose got wind of the movies production and offered to send the boys from 22 to do the regiments scenes, and the rest is history.
Fantastic track. I love the start when the SAS storm in to rescue 8 British Rail Pork Pies that were being held hostage by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Pies ( PFLP ) They ended up shooting the pies just to save the tasteBudds of the 1990s inter city commuter ...
Lewis Collins and Edward Woodward were true British legends. Lewis Collins was a tremendous actor, being greatly underrated. This is a superb film. Produced in the days before the wokeist cancer set in. The film's message is spot on - socialism is evil.
Lewis Collins running down the hall... AMAZING! Two SAS dangling from ropes under a helicopter, spinning aimlessly while they are presented as targets for any idiot with a gun? Absolute stupidity... but it looks GREAT! LMAO.
British forces one off the best in the world with the sas as the fore fathers of all modern special forces shame politicians have to fuck around and get involved
Who Dares Wins is a brilliant movie when it was released went to see it 8 times
Lew Collins was the best James Bond we never had ! Great video 👍👍
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they turn him down for the role because he was too extreme after the professionals and who dares wins?
Absolutely right!
He auditioned and they found him too aggressive.@@HarrisMiller-qw6xh
@@HarrisMiller-qw6xh You may well be right. Though Ian Fleming would have been furious in that case🙂

Great scotch actor ❤
@@MsJamiewatt1 You mean Scottish: 'scotch' is whisky from Scotland.
My wife says that in bed.
The music was perfect for the film and to me, it's one of the most memorable movie themes ever with that bass pushing the track along.
Outstanding!
This is actually better than the original, nice job! 👍
One of my favourite movies of all time absolutely love it love the theme tune in my honest humble opinion absolutely
@martinhawkrsworth9676 it's a shame he never got the James Bond part, after this movie, I reckon it would've been perfect for the part, but he ended up getting some awful movies later on in his career
I like the helicopter purring away in the background.
Roy Budd has always been one of my favourite composers, he's also the most underrated, much better than the overrated John Williams
Extremely underrated film and video
Very true. Lewis Collins should've been 007...
@@alanleemaxwell831apparently he didn't get the part because chubby thought he was too violent!
@@HarrisMiller-qw6xh He didn't think he was too 'violent.' He felt that he was too aggressive in his manner- big difference!
Watching him running through the corridor, he's every inch a James Bond, beats me why he never got the part
Absolutely. Could've been the best.
Apparently, it was felt he was too ‘harsh’. Fast forward some years and we had Daniel Craig. LC would have been a fantastic James Bond.
He was too aggressive for Bond @@SILVERBACK2024
Lewis Collins running down a hallway with an Uzi, flanked by SAS troopers. Definitely 10/10 on the old badas-O-meter.
Yes indeed, it was that scene that stuck with me from childhood, and was the main reason I made this remix.
Sorry comrade it was MAC 10 machine pistol, made in the USA.
You have in calibre. 45, 9mm, 380.
@@skylongskylong1982 well I am no expert, it looked like an Uzi to me.

I can remember the cliff thorburn v hurricane higgins final getting interrupted at 15-15 for live coverage.
Good afternoon, the first time I met a team in Kuwait I took note of the team spirit.🥃🚬🐺👍
Roy Budd = Excellence
Class film and soundtrack
Those jam-sandwich police Range Rover's were so hot
Damn right and the Rover SD1 was great too.
Love the re-mix.
Great film with a superb score. Also loved Roy Budd's Wild Geese score, thanks for sharing.
Great film, with the best of British actors, underrated in my opinion sad ending though
Edward Woodward's 'Callan,' hard enough to roller skate on- made Bond look like a lentil soup eating social worker! Callan would have stormed the embassy alone and done the lot of them! Superb actor.
Excellent remix - this was the one I was looking for.
Good job. Just like me on my last day at work taking the stationary cupboard down. They'll be fucked for rubbers now.
"Fuck me lads, it's good to be rubberized."
Ah, ''rubbers''. As a Brit in the US, I can say that there is a distinct difference in language..... :)
Good lads I remember sas stroming the embassy good lads solid no messing around guys straight in and straight out.
Brilliant!
My mate, let’s just call him Matt R was probably the technical advisor for this film and possibly even took part in the raid - kudos Matt!

Wikan already did a remix of the main theme, have to say it somewhat inspired me : th-cam.com/video/Q8ZVFLjyt7s/w-d-xo.html

Thank you for this and as everyone ever sane has said of course Lewis should have been Bond!……..
Just watched it again tonight. Stands the test of time.
The helicopter purrs away in the background of the great roy budd's soundtrack.
Great job - upped the oomph, kept enough of what made the original so great, dropped the jazzy keyboard (which was good but isn't fantastic).
