@zandos27 i think tis so surprising to people because for so long many couldnt get acess to these samples and this music was always inteh background of the films unappreciated.
Don't know the name of this piece but I'm pretty sure it's from the 'Diamonds' soundtrack. As it's a soundtrack there are lots of different versions of the same tune, which explains the similarity with 'The Thief' - same movie / soundtrack. Check out 'The Plant' from 'The Black Windmill' soundtrack too, great tune.
@zandos27 It's not that it has "elements of drum and bass," hip hop and D&B and other music are built on the foundations of old jazz and funk breaks by taking these drums and chopping/rearranging them. The fun part is digging for the rarest records in your local record store!
...if "Master R" was ere we could speak of these films, but i say it is hard to pin piont them as one of these sounds the same as an Italian ( De nero) type of film soundtrack!..
Roy Budd is a revelation in 2021.
I want this album.
YO! Feeling that PERCUSSION
BEAUTIFUL !!
So relaxing.
drum and bass as well as hip hop and jungle owe alot of their original drum loops/sounds to the famous amen break...
