Hi my Google Pixel 8a finally arrived 😅 ---- Google Pixel 8a via Amazon: geni.us/Pixel-8a Google Pixel 8 (discounted) via Amazon: geni.us/Google-Pixel-8
Personally, I can't understand why bezels are such a big deal to many people! Unless the bezels resemble phones of 8-10 years ago, they are not a distraction or issue! The screen resolution and peak brightness are the only concerns for me. I'm not even THAT concerned about high refresh rates.........90 or 120 isn't that big a deal, especially if there's a significant price difference!
Because it’s something to whine about. High refresh rate screens on anything but a gaming phone is a waste. “Oh it makes scrolling smoother……yippee”. Especially on androids where developer options allow you to minimize the animation speeds to achieve the same “feels faster” end result.
What Google is doing to their Pixel a models feels awfully similar to what Samsung is doing to the Galaxy FE models. They saw how these devices were cannibalizing sales, so they have begun to slowly nerf features and marketing. At this point, its better off buying the full flagship devices rather than their "budget friendly" (almost same price) alternative
You can buy the A series Pixels for cheaper tho and google regularly has deals as well or they bundle in other products with it. So it’s not in the same league as Samsung with the FE also the pixel A series are smaller phones which will attract some people. the FE is another gigantic phone added to the mountain pile of gigantic phones already available
not really you can find tons of good deals on the 8a and google can bundle it with another product for a good price. this isn’t like samsung with the FE plus the Pixel A series all are smaller phones so this attracts people that prefer smaller phones. the FE is another gigantic phone added to the pile of gigantic phones out there
I love my Pixel 8a! I got it through my carrier for $100 off. I also traded in my 6a and will get a credit for that. For me personally, it was a good deal.
@@agitalemon my 6a got 'warm' sometimes and even went into night mode to conserve energy. Hopefully fingerprint recognition is better in the 8a and I may check out facial recognition as I never (covid) wear a facemask ! 😛
I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy A21s to a Pixel 8a two days ago. After using the new phone now for a couple of days, I have come the conclusion that of the two, the Pixel 8a is the overall better smartphone.
I am considering this phone. I h the pixel 6a and it has performed perfectly. I just want to get a new phone since a friend talked me into selling mine to him. I had an All in my draw and that Is where it is going back to. I am older am my eyes are fading. It's on sale f for $99, so I think I must give it a go. Thanks for your review.
Good video/advice. 11-17-24 Just bought one ! ... Sporting a 6a now and was going to wait for the 9a, but Google Fi knocked off $200 and I added the 256GB storage. No cool colors other than Obsidian Black .. but I got a Blue case from Mous which will hopefully liven things up ! I'm cheap/old school .. not a fan of paying over $ 500 for a cell phone that you may use for 2-3 years [it's a pocket computer that can make phone calls]. {over $ 600 with Inflation ? 😕 }. I have the means$ but not the will. That said, when I buy a new desktop for $ 500-600 every 5+ years, I don't bat an eye with what I spend on cheap cell phones. --Also, probably going to get a iPhone SE 2025 if/when it's released. 😛
Once the 8a goes on sale it'll be an excellent value. I actually prefer the plastic matte back and flat camera bar. I do wish they increased the battery size to 5000 mah as most androids these days is pretty standard. I definitely think that aloe green is the best looking color too.
I'm still loving it, it has a few hiccups every now and then. Like when the text comes in at the top where I can click reply, it will kind of glitch out just a little and then I have to actually open the messaging app by clicking it instead of just replying through the top notification. That happens every once in awhile and then when the battery gets low it has issues. But I mean that's pretty much any device and lastly maybe 2 weeks or week and a half it'll just do a solid freeze. It just doesn't have the memory to do super complex things like take. For instance, while you're editing photos It can slow down a bit but it picks back up. One thing that I found is that sometimes sending messages like long videos have to be under 6 minutes in like 15 seconds I believe. But sometimes even with Wi-Fi and all bars it just doesn't like to send a message so you can go in and turn on the Data saver option in the network settings, and it will limit the data usage just to just one particular app and the app is whichever one you're using works like a charm. I would also like to add that my phone suffered many drops without a case or a screen protector and it held up much better than my iPhone would have. Luckily I got the device protection. Always and forever Alyssa Edwards
the usb a to c adapter is included for quickly transferring data between phones during the first use setup and it's just nice to have if you want to use a flash drive to archive data without cloud storage for example, considering Pixels have no microSD slot
what a phone i got one unlocked from 320usd in marketplace here nyc love more than my pixel 8 with this one i dont even use a case i love it the matte finish 🔥🔥
@@saramohammed-cv7eo I never said obsidian is not going a bad color I'm just saying would be great if google offered 256gb in aloe bay also in porcelain

I'm hoping it lasts longer then my 5a. My 5a died the other day out of the blue. All of them had a defect. They are sending me a 7 pro but I opted to just buy 8a and sell 7 pro.
I have owned an S10+ since Dec 2019. Got a Pixel 8a a few days ago and I'm giving it back: 1. For me, the One UI is way better. I feel like the only real advantages of the Pixel 8a are the 120hz refresh rate and the 7 years of update because, in regards to the cameras, for instance, I didn't see that much of a difference compared to the S10+ shots. 2. I thought the bezels wouldn't bother me but they actually do. My wife has an iPhone 11 and it seems that its bezels are even slightly thinner than those on the Pixel 8a, and we are talking about a 2019 phone vs a 2024 phone. 3. I just searched for the Gorilla Glass 3 and it was released in 2013 so Google put an 11-year-old glass on their latest phone, that is really unacceptable!
Best phone I ever had! Small and flat, easy to use. But I'm afraid small/compact phones are nearly gone now. Today 6'2 screens are considered compact...
Google and Samsung release their a/FE series because it's expected. They don't want to cannibalize sales from the entry point of their actual flagship offerings. I mean the price difference between the budget offerings and the base Pixel 8/S24 is pretty negligible after trade in options and carrier offerings (especially the S23 FE...SD 8 Gen1 for over 600 bucks???😂).
I am absolutely fed up with people hating one this phones bezels and calling them "thick" THEY AREN'T THICK JUST A LITTLE BIGGER THAN USUAL YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THICK UNTIL YOU LOOK AT AN AMAZON TABLET!!!!!
Seeing from the price to performance side..i think the Pixel 8a kinda overpriced tho..now even some midrange launched got better specs and hardware than Pixel 8a..
I really want to know the software commitment can match the hardware, especially the ram. 8gb is standard in 2024, but what about in 2031? When the last os update come
The phone has dual out-loud speakers: one at the bottom and one within the earpiece at the top. Phone calls can be heard from the earpiece, and calls, music, videos etc. will be played from both speakers out loud.
That error from Google is hilarious for people that only have a USB A charging brick they've included an adapter in the box so you can charge your phone with the included usb c to usb c cable but hilariously made the adapter usb c to usb A rather than usb A to usb c so it's useless 😂😂😂
Literally those bezels need to stop being on these phones that also goes for the s23 fe so let’s hope the s24 fe and pixel 9a don’t have these outdated lookin bezels.
I don't care that mich about the bezels. I want a bigger screen and a square screen. I hate everybody copying Apple with their rounded screen s. Why can't these companies keep their identities? If I wanted an iPhone I'd get an iPhone!
These phones look extremely dated with this peble looking rounded edges reminiscent of the Galaxy S III design. It looks awful. Plus the massive bezel... Yikes. Please bring back smaller bezels and more rectangular shapes like the Pixel 7 series. In my opinion, this is planned obsolescence at its best. I just bought a Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 and it looks like a flagship phone compared to this rounded mess of a phone, with exception of the slower SoC, it leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Yes, it only gets one OS update, but it looks and feels much nicer than what Google is offering this generation.
