the amount of features that I don't have access to on my 8 pro because I live in canada is insane. Definitly my last google phone.
there are some apps that you can use to unlock those features. ig its called pixel xpert

Awesome tips! Just want to point out that if you do anything on your phone like send a text message or put a new phone number in your phone or even call a phone while it's on "repair mode", that information and or data will not be saved in your phone no matter what. So be careful not to store new numbers and make calls thinking it will be saved for later while in "repair mode".

I find it so ridiculous and irritating that Google can't release these AI features all at once. Here it is 2024 and I still don't have the magic compose feature option in messages on my Pixel 8 Pro in the USA. 😩
In the US you have to be a member of Google One...then become a beta tester...then download the beta verson of messages. I followed those steps and now I have it on my Pixel 8 Pro.

I find it even more ridiculous that it requires a US SIM as of now. I can speak English while not being American. It's really annoying that Google region locks so many features.
Then, think of others outside US hu don't get half of these features

Are all these features available on the GP 8 version too, I seams not to like the GP 8pro because it is too big on my palm?
He sold a pixel phone to me today. I’m gonna explain why because he’s covering all the features that I need to know about what you could do with your phone as far as tech not just pictures not just the gimmicks he’s covering the things that I wanna know about everyone else is just covering picture picture pictureand gimmick stuff he’s getting to what the phone do. I’ll be 48 hours as soon as I get home thank you so much.

I have pixel 8 pro. Latest update from Jan. I don't see magic compose in the settings. Do you have the beta app by any chance? I'm in the US
I also do NOT see the magic compose setting.
I also do not see magic compose, even though Im in the Messages beta program. I also dont see video boost.

I didn’t see it on my p8p initially. I went into Google accounts and changed to a different Google account (I have multiple gmail accounts) and then magic compose became available. Go figure.

The pixel phones have always had great cameras, but No other phone has all of the neat googly features that the pixel phones have. I have used other phones in the last few years but have always returned to the pixels as I miss all of the features that I get with pixels when I use other phones. Samsung makes great phones, but I do not like Samsung's UI and the the bloatware they give you. The Galaxy S23 Ultra uses almost 54 GB of internal memory for the operating system. The Pixel 8 pro uses 14GB of memory.
Forget about the iphone. I got tired of being restricted using IOS. Doing easy tasks with IOS as just moving files or sideloading when I need to sideload, is hard or impossible to do. The iphone is trying to catch up but it doesn't have all of the neat features that the pixel does. There really is only one choice for me.
If some people don't see a camera feature, it may be located in the photo app. Several features are found there, under the tools selection on the menu. After you take a shot, look there for a feature you are trying to use. For additional help, google how to use that feature and google will tell you.
Highlight searching is really called Touch to Search and it's been in chrome for more than 9 years

I'll have to test. I usually just run with the stock software on pixel. It's pretty clean as is. I'll take a look though
@@WhatGear I remember a while ago you couldn't use icon packs with the stock launcher... There's the shortcut maker workaround but you don't get notification dots on those. I'm very close to moving from Samsung to pixel 8 pro but I also like my stock customisation.

@@jevonsims900 You can install a 3rd party launcher but I prefer to use stock but with custom icons. I've read you can't use third party icons on pixels.

You would not believe that the Pixel 8 series is two phones , they have completely neglected the standard 8. I wish I had of just kept my Pixel 7 at this point
Sadly magic composer doesn't exist in my region yet 😅 google only sells pixels here since december. Took me a lot of work arounds to get my hands on the pixel 7 pro etc. at least i could buy the 8 pro normally

Pixel 8 pro translation doesn't translate most of the time? If I say something in English and expect to translate in Spanish. It would rather give me English translation.

Does anybody know if the pixel has better reception than the iPhone? I know the Galaxy s23 ultra has a good reception. iPhone is not the best for that. Greatly appreciated!!
Actually that would be a great review to do to see which phones have better reception between iPhone, Google, Samsung and Sony. We probably won't find any tech reviewer doing this even though they are phones.🤗
I have a pixel 8 pro, I find that the reception drops out and also disconnects from WiFi often. I came from a iPhone 14 Plus, never had these issues with that. Such a shame.

If your using SIM card try switching to esim to see if that work better.

I have a pixel 8 pro. But I don't see Gemanai.
Unfortunately most of these are available only in English speaking countries. I fell like I bought a phone which is not full when it comes to those. I'm from Poland.
Canada doesn't even have them nor does the UK I think so really it is a US thing maybe?

If you can't find a camera pixel feature that you should have, look in the photos app. Several camera tricks and features are in the photos app, not the camera app. Make sure the apps are updated as this may keep some from seeing the features.
why dont i have any of these features in the US
If you have a pixel 8 pro in the US, then you have all of them. My Family now all have pixel phones and the ones with pixel 8 pro phones have all of them. Some features are not part of the camera app but are found in the photos app.
I have a 7 Pro in Germany, and basically nothing of these features exist for me.
If most of the features are not available outside US then why pixel is available in my country? I paid more than US customers for less features. Feeling lucky :)

I have the faster voice typing enabled since it existed over 3 pixel phones.
And voice recognition gets worse over time.
It's one of the reasons why i will not buy a pixel anymore. From generation to generation they get more buggy and worse overall.

This is why Pixel buyers are being scammed. Half of these are region locked, the other half is 8 pro exclusive. As a Pixel 8 owner in the EU only 5 functions are working for me.
I have bought into the Pixel ecosystem but I will buy an IPhone next time.
The magic compose is sad. I don’t want to be talking to a bot when I’m trying to talk to someone, just Use your own words.
Technology is ramping up, it gives us short term convenience but a fast track to an illiterate incapable society, not actually learning anything or having skills. Weird how our own brilliance will eventually be our downfall.
That face swap is the most cringiest and pointless thing ever if you wanted a different face ask the person to smile before 😂😂 or make the face you want in the picture you’d have thought

It is the best thing to use if you have several people (including Children) in your family. I could never get all of them to look in the right direction when taking family shots. It was a nightmare as some of the children were quite small and liked to move around. I love this feature as now I can finally get a good photo. If you don't like it, don't use it. For me the "best shot" feature is wonderful.
