Hello from Oklahoma! Good Video! Thanks! I'm an old man now, still do a bit of 4wheelin'. But I remember the days when you'd thrash your truck till it broke then work on it all week so you could get back out there next weekend. Looked like a fun day. Thanks for the fun!

As a 55 year old, life long mechanic and overall "car guy" I've owned many vehicles. One thing Ive had alot of experience with but never actually owned is a square body Chevrolet. I've had my hands on them since I was single digits old but have never actually owned one of my own. I'm ashamed of the fact that I don't currently own a pickup truck of any kind, never thought that would happen but here it is June of 2024 and if I have to move anything at all I got to call somebody who does have a truck. My last truck got seized in a property seizure after being sued over getting ripped off on a property deal gone wrong. Such a long stupid story and an attorney keeps telling me I'm supposed to be getting back my 2002 Duramax crew cab short bix back but I will believe it when I see it. Anyway, with all that said, for quite some time I've wanted a clean square body Chevrolet with a vintage 1973 grille. Ideally it would be a K30 and my dream is to power it with one of the many 455 Oldsmobile powerplants I currently own. For me the dream is to build a "perfect" off road and capable tow vehicle with all the classic "good stuff" like a divorced cast iron transfer case 4x4 with a manual trans. When completed it will be capable of towing 15k with ease, shake down 18mpg unloaded and at least 10mpg hauling the weight. A modern efi system would help with that goal. Parts availability should be of relative ease and parts failure should be far and few in between. Currently it's just a dream. Being disabled doesn't help matters one bit...but if there is one thing a man can have and that is a dream.
Would have like to have played with you guys. Had. '78 GMC shortbed 4×4. Last of the regular gas trucks. Dropped a '69 427 in with solid lifters. Hooked onto 3spd on the tree, lol, with 3.07 gears. 32 × 11.50 BFG mudders. No lift. Pretty fun in snow covered motorcycle trails and 140+ on hwy.
@@BurninGas8.1 Yeah. Had a lot of fun back in the days before cell phones. Lol. Had more than one mud covered guy knocking on my door.
