I can’t believe I watched the entire video! Do not even owe a truck. Live right below in the San Gabriel canyon. Love to see the full River and you guys absolutely seemed having so much fun! Great video!
I went down there two weeks ago, paid to enter, the moment i saw how deep the first crossing was, i turned around and went home haha its mind boggling what some of these guys put their daily drivers through 😂 9:30 dudes headlight housing is half full with water 😂
There’s always someone willing to help out though! Of course if you go as a group makes everything much easier . We just enjoy the water and mud until it lasts 😅
20:24 All Jeep wranglers have rubber drain plugs under the carpet where the driver and passengers feet rest, if you get a cab full of water stick your hand under the carpet and pull the plugs and it will drain in seconds . Also NEVER hook a recovery rope to a leaf spring shackle , wrap it around the axle tube if there’s no recovery points on the front bumper . A shackle is a very weak point and will twist everything when all pressure is put there.
Getting stuck in deep snow & needing a tow, I learned to have a short tow line attached to the frame, & stowed under the hood, for an easy tow hook up! (It would work when submerged also! )
Off-roading with work trucks.. think I seen the guy who does my landscaping.. 😂 enjoyed the content 👍🏼💯 and loved the Latinos / whites coming together, having a good time and helping each other. Many can learn from this.. America is great!
I sold a 79 F-150 to guy named Ish from Orange County that used to wheel here. Cream and white cab, bobbed blue bed, tube bumpers, riding on one tons and 37's. Just curious if the truck is still around.
I've welded every truck of mine with 2 hooks rear frame and 2 hooks front frame!! You can also drill a hole and mount hooks with a nut and bolt kit I usually weld them and then drip and tap ,and then heavy Guage threaded bolt with flange and bolt on bolt sides of the new tow flange with hook
Hello there! The river crossings are rarely ever this deep…it was like this after like a full week of heavy rain which is kind of rare so snorkels are not needed. Hope this answers your question😀
that SWB black 2016+ Silverado did well in what looked to be pretty much stock form. I'd never take my 2018 Sierra Z71 through stuff like that - spent too much $$ on it.
Would a stock TRD off road Tacoma be fine to take to Azusa? Or should I wait until I lift it and put bigger tires? I have all terrain tires at the moment.
The last time I went to azusa canyon we broke an axel and had to be towed that was in 83. That day a CJ5 was crossing water and in the middle he sopped and lit a cigarette but immediately after that he ended up completely submerged with everything in his jeep floating to the top lol
This is what real off roading looks like, not like a lot of TH-cam people that make it look so glamorous and clean! Ain't no foverlanders getting that dirty and wet! Count me in!
Depends on the overlander. Lol I’ve been in deep water like this but didn’t get stuck. I (unlike the red Jeep) have a snorkel in case. I’ve also been in -14 winter camping, broke hubs and axles too on my new Jeep. Mud stuff too. Depends on the person really. !!

Brings back memories from the mid 80s. Azusa canyon was a good time. Crowds and vehicles have changed. But the terrain still looks the same!
Indeed it did. Used to go every weekend, before it was really an 'official' OHV site, and play.
