- Some sad news has come for Bachelor in Paradise fans that seems to indicate that Bachelor in Paradise is cancelled... for now. Plus Joan Vassos has been announced as The Golden Bachelorette! I don't know if you're aware, but Playa Escondida Sayulita, the hotel where it was filmed, was sold and the new owners did not want to continue filming there. It probably is a bit time consuming to scout a new hotel location where they can take over the entire place for an extended period of time, and figure out all nearby amenities that would make interesting dates. I have a feeling this was the major contributor to this season of Paradise being scrapped.
Yep, folks are heavy on camera restrictions now, possibly with or without Shanae and Gen being drunk the season before last

They we'll probably make bigger bucks because it's the place where Bachelor in Paradise was filmed so that in itself will make the prices go up! Business as usual.
BIP is long overdue for a facelift. With that said I hope it comes back at some point because it made paying attention to each contestant from regular seasons seem more important.

I completely agree. One thing they should do in my opinion: get rid of the people who are there to build an Instagram following. Also, verifying that everyone who comes is not actually already dating another cast member. That Pieper and Brendan thing was an all-time low. Last season needed a few more classy, intelligent people, like Kendall, Serena, Grocery Store Joe, Becca, etc. It's worked okay in the past to have a couple silly, drama-loving people. But last year, that's all they had and it didn't work. It was just one vapid conversation after another.
Potentially no more cakes in fire pits, unnecessary drama, and poo babies…?! My trash tv heart can’t take it! 😫
I wish they wouldn't do the golden bachelorette they are so boring I would rather watch younger women find love not old people
@@beverlyangermeier4693I disagree! I found Golden Bachelor to be quite heartwarming, seeing older folks trying to find a chance at love (again for some). Yes, at times it felt like I was watching my Grandparents kissing, and I would scrunch my face like a kid, but it overall felt more genuine in my opinion. ☺️

I think part of the fun of Golden Bachelor was how genuine and wholesome it seemed after seasons of Bachelor/Bachelorette couples breaking up immediately after the show. Felt like it was destined for a more meaningful relationship… and then the quick marriage/breakup ruined that magic.
I really really hope they bring back BIP, I think the premiere time was awful and it didn’t hold up well immediately after GB. BIP makes watching all the seasons worth it!!!
they made it too commercialized and they only had contestants that were influencers. used to be regular people.
It probably is hard to do your former job without getting distracted by the new attention.
Unfortunately all reality tv has been hit with wannabe influencers
The people who actually want to find love are likely turned off from the idea of overnight fame/fear of a bad edit/etc
I would love to see a Bachelor(otte) seasons with people in their 30-40s.Much better demographic for actually going back to basics of what the show is about.. no, it´s not Insta followers.
We had that with Claire and she was one of the worst Bachelorettes.

Last season may have been awful but I want Paradise!!! The reason last season sucked so much was bc the cast were the cattiest meanest shallowest girls. Joey’s girls were mostly all genuine and sweet. Bring back PLEASE!! 🙏🏻

I think Joan was the best pick from the cast members available unless they picked someone new. Paradise taking a year off is disappointing, but it seems like a reasonable thing to do considering the dumpster fire that was last season. Maybe they'll find a way to switch up the location or the format for whenever they bring it back.
I saw some saying they also wanted someone far removed from Geurry. It might be good to stop and review the critics and make edits
If Bach of Paradise comes back...would be cool to change location too.

I definitely hope Bachelor in Paradise returns. The relaxed scene makes for a lot more real conversations and action, plus the bathing suits!
Most of those Golden Bachelor ladies have been crazy overexposed, so I am kind of glad Joan was selected since she hasn’t been on every show and making the publicity rounds.

Even though last seasons BIP was a mess, it was the only reason why I bothered to watch the main shows. It was always fun to look forward to because you were already familiar with the people on the show. I won't be watching the new seasons without it!

I'm glad to have no BIP crammed in behind another bachelor show. It just STOLE my sleep every week, and at the end of each episode I regretted staying up.

Is Kelsey's dad, Mark Anderson, going to be on the show? Of course I don't know them, but I'd love to see Joan and Mark get to know each other. That could be a good fit.

I hope they revamp BIP because it used to be so fun. I also wish they would do another season of Listen to Your Heart. That was better than all of these franchises put together.
Yes, I liked the Listen to Your Heart season. The fact that each contestant had an interest in music provided something worthwhile for them to talk about and sing about in their conversations and dates.

I prefer them choosing the most chaotic pick, bringing back bachelor in paradise but with a mix of golden bachelor/bachelorette and regular bachelor/bachelorette contestants
I like their pick for Golden Bach'ette. She seemed really nice. Will miss Paradise unless they pull something magic out of the hat - I always liked it better than the regular Bach and Bach'ette seasons.
I wasn’t going to watch Golden Bachelorette because of how awful the golden bachelor ended up, but I love Joan so I definitely plan to watch it now. I am a bit sad that BIP is off for this year but I hope this gives them a chance to fix some glaring mistakes and find a good cast who is actually interested in each other.

I think she was speaking of dating but I love that she’s a mom who was there for her daughter and a daughter who made chicken soup for her mom. If she wants a romantic relationship too I hope she finds it.

Golden Bachelor 72, Golden Bachelorette 60 (of course), Sandra 75 (no way).
Joan was so my prediction from before the Golden Bachelor even began crazy looking back and it coming to fruition.
Taking a year off Bachelor would give them more people to choose from for a cast instead of just smooshing (mostly) the casts from the previous two seasons together.
Personally if we do get paradise back I would love to see it be every other year. So we have a golden bachelor/ette one year and paradise the year after. I feel like that way we could have more fresh faces on the beach.

There were some really cruel events created by the producers…..the “BOX” ….bringing back x’s to cause heartache ….. the nastiness did nothing for the ratings….
As sad as this is, it may be for the best and/or I saw this coming. The BIP trend and popularity contaminated the bachelor/bachelorette franchises with the need for cringey, cookey or dramatic characters who give Night 1 energy. I hate that instead of workshoping like fans stated for years, they just continued to drive into the brick wall we now call "Cancellation". I actually blame the US edition because I actually ENJOY watching the Australia franchise and the US was a let down when you compare the 2.
I love paradise. Please bring it back!
We could have had a hybrid between BIP and the Golden Bachelorette and had more than one lady. It would have been so fun to have Susan and Sandra again.

I only watch the main shows for Paradise. Ill watch Jenn because I'm not picking the first Asian lead to be the season I stop watching. I'm out after that. Don't care about Joan and find it very hard to believe the men will give what the the women did on Golden Bachelor.

For Joan, we don't know if the Golden Bachelorette was offered to other cast members first. We know that there have been people offered spots that have turned them down for various reasons.
Paradise is my favorite one though.. and the only show that has mostly successful couples.
I wish they would bring back a bit of Bachelor Pad. Have some challenges to win dates. Give them something to do. It's so boring watching people do f**k all lounging around waiting for whenever comes down the stairs next in hopes it better than the loaf they already paired up with.
Same here. The relationships in paradise have mostly been just been summer flings with little way of romance. And the dates all being the same each year. At least the pad dates expanded and could visit various points in California. It wasn't just jungle and beach.

I’m not surprised that BIP got cancelled this year. I stopped watching by ep 4 and everyone I know that also watches BIP stopped watching halfway through
I love bachelor in Paradise but last season really was the worst. They should have done another prom or had better contestants from previous seasons that are still single. But I'm hoping and praying that it comes back because it is quite entertaining and fun because you're watching several people trying to make a connection.

You know the more space between these shows really makes me start to lose interest in this franchise . I dont care anymore ....also golden Bach and Bachette will b fun BUT its ridiculous and will prob end in another breakup unless they get all the people living in the same general location in the US . Senors are settled and most aren't interested in moving from their families and lifetime friends. Too bad about paradise , maybe just get better cast members and better management
