Looking forward to spinoffs like Plumber Wants A Wife, Accountant Wants A Wife and Underwater Welder Wants A Wife.
LOL
I'm looking forward to Farmer Wants a Husband
Yes! Or city women want a husband, in reverse where country men move to the city! As long as they don't have a farm to attend to. Kind of like an old fave of mine Amish in the City
Sounds like you’re making fun of the show?
So you want to see John Henry find a wife? 😂
The Norwegian version of this has been going for 15 + years, in it they show us who the farmers are on tv like six months before and then people can send letters to the ones they like and then the farmers choose based on the letters. It has a wild success rate compared to the bachelor
Same here in the Netherlands! The entire vibe is different too, which is most of the appeal, I'd say, so this US version is very weird to me...
Same for germany 😊
And for Belgium! Plus the farmers are usually older and not conventionally attractive, most of the times. Like average people. It feels more real
@@Laure-iv7fy i saw this thumbnail and thought it was so funny that they made a version wjere its like young land owning Cowboys for the americans
That's cause us american like to make every "reality" show super fake and as far away from reality as possible. I've seen an episode of a french farmer dating, and it was so down to earth and felt authentic.
I had no idea this show was so popular in other countries. Reading the comments has been fascinating.
Same! Always thought this was a Dutch concept lol apparently not 😂
The French version of this show has had 19 season since 2005.
lol yeah the german version has been running since forever too. i'm surprised its taken so long to come to the US, considering how many farmers they have
Finnish version has been ongoing since 2006, too.
The France version or Québeoise version?
@@moon230686 France,
Same for the Dutch one. One of my favorite programs ever! 😍🐮🌿
Fun fact. The Swedish version of Farmer wants a wife is huge in Sweden. And has been for years. (Number 1 show in Sweden is a quiz about geography and culture btw) In Sweden they show short clips about each farmer on TV in mars and then people sent letters to the farmer they like. Yes, email works to but the producers print them. Then we get to see the farmers reading the letters and choose 10 for speed dating. 6 go on a group date and four of them travel to the farms. After the final pic (I think this is in july, but shown in october) the couple travel together and just before christmas we find out what couples are still togehter.
The Finnish version, called ”Maajussille morsian”, is very similar and has had a great success rate when it comes to marriages & children. I think the concept is more successful than Bachelor, because the farmers (male and female) and the contestants are themselves actively choosing on every step instead of the producers (“casting”). For starters only those contestants send letters, who like the farmer on the introduction video. Then based on the contestants’ letters and photos (and/or videos) the farmer chooses only those, he/she resonates with. Etc. I also think that people, who participate in this reality show, are not after fame and are not as superficial as the Bachelor participants tend to be.
@@giniviva672 I agree. The Swedish show also has great sucess- rate. A lot of things in the American Farmer wants a wife dont make sence. Like the women not knowing who they are applying for. I havent watched any Bachelor/ Bachelorette season since Jillian/ Jason. Those days love was focus. Now a new career as an influencer is focus. I beleive people want true love. Not fake, look at me I make a good show.
Now I would like to see the Swedish version 😂
The dutch do it allmost the same (including printing the e-mails). I think it's 3 on the farms but appart from that there isn't much difference. And I agree with @giniviva672
@@ApequH Yes, also in Finland it’s usually three final contestants, who get to spend one week on the farm. Those final three contestants have already gone through letter selection, possible phone calls, speed dating (5-7 cont.) and group dating (4 cont.). During the farm week, there are one-on-one dates with each of the contestants and in the end of that week the farmer reveals, who he/she has chosen.
I SCREAMED “ITS THE BARBIE MOVIE” when Mitchell started singing. Thank you for making that reference 😂
ME TOO HAHAH
Its missing the appeal of german farmer wants a wife
Imagine you just want to bake something and his grandma comes in utters something completly inaudible and than corrects you to use more flour
Is this version online somewhere with English subtitles?
@@foxinthesnow1917 yes I would like to see this!
The appeal is more that in Europe farmers are looked down on and considered stupid. Where as American farmers are usually pretty well put together and respected by most of the population.
@@QuixoticCowboyidk about American farmers being respected…
@@a.j.w9992decent people do anyway
how loud I screamed yes when I saw you found this show...amazing
You should watch season 12 of Farmer Wants A Wife Australia - a lot of drama comparatively but some good matches and one of the farmers is a woman.
The Quebec version, L'amour est dans le pré, has done 12 seasons so far and I see that they've had 16 successful couples with 34 babies. Definitely better stats than Bachelor. I've never watched it, but my sister and brother-in-law, who are usually not big into reality TV, have loved watching this show.
Je cherchais le nom justement ça me disais quelque chose 😅
nathan was such a sweet dude the whole show, I hope he finds happiness
The Canadian version of this is “Farming for Love” available on CBC and Crave 🐄
We actually ran into the casting promotion once at an event and they gave all of us sign-up info in case we wanted to audition for the show 😆 the contestants seemed pretty cool there were ppl with all different sexual orientations on there
The 42 year old farmer needs to look for women his own age, not wanting children is high on a list of what someone is looking for 🙄 Also a lot of these women (eg. JOY) looked fake & looking for celebrity status, fake hair, nails etc as if they are looking to work on a farm
Yes! And in the dutch version thing like not wanting kids are in the intro's to the farmers, after that people can write them if they are intresested, they ususally do go for people their own age
Ty! Ty comes across as a professional reality show contestant. Hes not interested, really, in a serious relationship. He just wants to be on tv.
I love that you did this! I graduated with Emerson and have been investing in this season because of it! Still happy for Grace, but the tea is I don't think the girls have much of a choice in the farmer they get (at least that's what she said) so I doubt any of Ty's girls had an idea of who or what their farmer was going to want. Appreciate your take, thank you!
SOOOO STINKIN HAPPY you covered this show -- it's so much more authentic than the Bachelor!! 💗💗 although I do think they did Farmer Ty a disservice not giving him women that fit his lifestyles and preferences he said he was very vocal about during the interview process.
The clip of Bilbo and the ring took me OUT 😂😂
The South African version has been running since 2005 and is huge amongst the Afrikaans south African community.
On which channel I've never seen it on TV (genuinely asking not to be rude)
I think Kyk net, I remember seeing it advertised at the Gautrain station @@aurora__night3423
Love it! So happy you’re covering it Fantake! Ye Haw!
Omgggg I know I was one of the people who asked for this so THANK YOU for covering it!! This show is so juicy I hope they do another season
There is a Canadian version called Farming for love! The second season is releasing this month.
I’ve been watching the Australian version of this show and was super excited when they started a US one! I love that they don’t go for engagements at the end like the Bachelor. But I knew from the beginning that Ty would leave alone. He was never super into any of them and had so many doubts. I agree that they should have picked women who also didn’t want kids so that maybe he could have been successful.
Yeah. Wanting kids is a huge thing. He wants all the labour of a step mother but now of her dreams forfilled
Seriously, not even this show can escape wannabe influencers. Why the hell city girls and models would go on knowing they do not want to live on a farm. And why dudes are dumb enough to drag them along knowing it won't work. And also oldest one is the most immature. You know you don't want kids say it bluntly right away, what a waste of time his entire storyline was.
@@charlybryant2975 Yes, my dad's a farmer. Most farmer are passionate about it and they won't waste their HARD earned money on a woman who brings in nothing but spending.
Ty was least favorite. The women were too young, imo. He got close to Megan and then claimed he didn't like her that way, only as a friend. 🙄🥴
I don’t think anyone whose frontal lobe isn’t fully formed should be allowed on these shows…
Can‘t believe it‘s taken this long for the US to get their own version of this 😂 The German one is heavy on alliterations (hardworking homebody Harold, whimsical William etc., just Imagine way meaner). Once a literal Neo-N*zi participated, and once a chicken was uhmmm molested on camera. We‘re doing great, thanks for asking!
I really like this show. Glad to see you cover it.
I’ve been watching this with Whitney Port and her husband Tim! I really like it. I like how they have a more real life exposure (like visiting home towns and staying locally). I also like how they acknowledge the ladies should have a choice too in staying or going. They’ve done a good job!
How are you watching it with Whitney?! Is it on her channel?? I've missed watching TV with Tim and Whit!!
It is on their channel ! (Whitney port) If you’re intl, that could be why you didn’t see it. Try using a free vpn and change your location to another country. It should work!
Man, so glad you did this
I have been wanting you to even last season
Thanks for covering this! I’ve enjoyed watching it.
Joy was like the wicked witch on wizard of oz and Ty was suspiciously looking like a verbal abuser so Megan likely dodged a bullet.
I started watching the Australian episodes streaming last year and was excited for a US run but then season 1 pretty much stunk. But this season 2 has been great! I just finished the most recent episode and I’m glad with all their choices (even Ty not picking either). I suspect what makes this a more successful model is that there are less women and more opportunities for everyone to get to really know each other since they’re all living on the farm together and also doing some of the actual things that life would entail. On the bach/bachelorette, they don’t even see where the lead lives for real and their times together are mostly limited. There is something more wholesome about the way things move so slowly on Farmer Wants a Wife and the pressure of only needing to pick a person at the end to date vs get engaged to right away is better too. The group socials they have with everyone must be fun and I always like the friendships between the guys and the farmers usually seem sweet and upstanding men. I’m interested to see the next episode to find out the updates. I hope no one has broken up because I like all of the final couples. Thanks for doing a recap here. I think a lot of us subscribers are watching this show. 👍
I'm really happy to have you cover this season! I actually thought Mitchell and Sydney had the strongest connection of all the couples so it was interesting hearing your take. Can't wait for the reunion episode!
Too bad former Bachelor from Iowa, Chris, isn't on the show. Maybe next season.
Will you do a follow-up next week when we find out if the couples are still together?
It's available on TH-cam
you have NO IDEA how ecstatic I was to see you recapped this show🤣 I feel like I've been watching it in a vacuum lmao
that was fun... thank you bachelor Fantake :):)
I watch this already!! This season wasn't as fun as last year, but it's so nice to actually be closer to reality than the over the top crazy of most of these dating shows!
Tye is the embodiment of Kevin Costners character in Yellowstone....yikes and bluntness included but somewhat endearing groaning
ooh good comparison!
There's an Italian version of the show too, and it's been going for a few seasons.
One of the most dramatic moments was when a farmer, during one of the first dinners with all the girls, disappeared with a contestant with the excuse of "picking rosemary for dinner".
He came back THE MORNING AFTER saying he was sorry and everything.
Of course, the other girls decided to leave and the rest of their screentime was just them going on dates. Just nasty
Ohh I see, in Finland we have a version of this as well.
it's called "Maajussille morsian" (translation: a bride for the farmer) and according to Wikipedia it's based on the UK version of this show (Farmer Wants a Wife).
We're currently on season 17, I believe. The show started running in 2006.
And it's still a very popular show to watch (on tv/online) and some of the couples do seem to last.
There's also many people who still apply to be in the show, which is quite impressive, when you think of how long that show has been running.
In Quebec, there is a show similar to this called ''L'amour est dans le pré''. It's super popular and has generated numerous long term couples with kids
Hi! I have watched both seasons within the past few months. I grew up on a dairy farm, so I find this interesting. Though unsure a first season farmer is a farmer? Either way, the show needs to do much better at matching young ladies with farmers. it was not even geographical. Ty should have been presented with women that were similarly aged, or at least not wanting children. That was unfair to all involved. I love to see the farm/agriculture exposure as so many are aware of it, but the show needs to do better. Brandon saying "would not date five women again" - lol. yeah, i can see this.
I agree with being matched more geographically and with age appropriate matches.
I dropped everything when I saw this video. So glad you covered this show. I have watched both seasons. This one is definitely better.
Thanks for the recap! I also think Nathan and Taylor might be the one couple who makes it. ❤️🤞
Thank you so much for doing a video on Farmer Wants A Wife. I hope that you get enough of a response to continue doing more videos on them. I’ve switched from watching the whole season of the Bachelor to Farmer Wants A Wife because of all the drama. However, I love your recaps so much that I still watch them each week. I’d love to be able to see a weekly recap of Farmer Wants A Wife too. Thanks!
idec if i’ve seen the show or not i will always watch every single one of ur videos
As a German I can see no similarities between the german and the american version. And I think differences are so important for the couples success.
As an American-German: yeah, it’s more like mama’s boy is searching for a woman that mama needs to approve 😂
Show Me state!
There is actually a restaurant near me that the concept is a meat lover and a vegan fell in love and started a restaurant.
I am glad you are recapping this. I hope it's renewed, and if so, that you will recap it. I love this show. I watched last season too. I wish it was 2 hours.
I’ve been watching the French Canadian version for a couple of years. Will check out this one
Oh this is really popular in my country and had a couple of seasons, and I remember seeing that our neighbouring coutry also has their own series
A wife wants a Farmer, the bunkhouse, cows lots of cows 😂❤.. beautiful wood fencing for miles and miles!
A hook up for the hicks 🎉😂
“Does he love God and murdering animals?” 😂
There is a South African version as well, Boer soek na n vrou, its on 14 seasons.
"Farmer Wants a Sexy Farmhand"
Farmer Wants a Wife was a show in the early 2000's in America, too. They must have rebooted because the other countries were putting up good numbers.
This show is literally all the worst parts of The Bachelor.. The group "dates" are all farm tasks and the girls have NO interest in living in the middle of nowhere, they just want to be on tv.
100% many of these girls (Joy) are only here for television coverage and climbing the ladder to more television gigs. 🙄
Yes, I remember watching decades ago! In particular, the theme song (uh, farmcentric rap) was absolutely bananas -- "pigs and cows and chickens abound, but this good ol' boy got no ladies around!"
So the quiverfull movement has another tv show. Great.
I was kinda thinking the same thing. Not sure I could get past it to enjoy the show
I have been DVRing this season but have not yet watched it. Love your take on this, so now I will!
For info, this is a spin off of a French TV show called l'amour dans le pré! It's really nice! I love this! I think this would take off better than the Bachelor Franchise
Wow, low-pressure tv is on it’s way!
You should do recaps on every episode next season!!
As someone in a relationship with an actual farmer, this was a fun watch... A few of these guys were clearly picked for their looks 🤣 Ty, I'm looking at you
Ty had no personality
after watching your videos for years I just realized you have a canadian accent. lolol
I watched several seasons of the Australian version during the pandemic. Like all concepts, American producers find a way to mess it up. They're on a farm - those girls don't need full hair and makeup every day. Also, they're on a farm - their club clothes, fancy manicures, and hair extensions are useless there. It's still better than what the Bachelor franchise has been doing for forever. I like that there are multiple leads and that they're not giving them 20 people to date at once. The ladies get to choose which farmer they want to meet and then the farmer narrows it to who they want to get to know. Five is more manageable than up to 2 dozen and I do like the fact that they're not into forced eliminations and that the ladies can also leave at any point if they realize that the farmer or farm life actually isn't for them.
Ty should have 100% stated up front that he didn't want more kids - different people would have applied to meet him such as a widow with kids or a divorced mom.
I would like to see roles reversed and have a couple of lady farmers/ranchers looking for a spouse but the show seems to be very traditional/religiously slanted so we may never get that.
I’m sorry, that dude is 23?? Rough
Whit and Tim did it first but excited to see your take on it!
I have no idea what this show is but I show up for your comedy session. The videos you make are funny😅
I'm guessing there's no two fantasy suites at the end
nope lol
Probably why it's more successful
Please cover Outback Jack. So hilarious where American women compete for a guy from the Australian Outback. 😂
There's no way that guy is 42... My husband and I are 41 - that guy looks like he's in his 50's.
The Barbie clip 😂
This is so much better than the bachelor in so many ways! Love it. I even watched the Australian series. Yes, it’s that good!
So early omg hi I love u so excited to watch
Idk if you read comment suggestions but I’d love to see your take on the Japanese dating show Ainori. It’s about 3 Japanese women and 3 Japanese men on a bus together, traveling through different countries hoping to fall in love. There’s two series available on Netflix, one in Asia and one in Africa. I didn’t think I would like it that much but I became very hooked very fast once I watched the first 2 episodes
In Germany we have 'Bauer sucht Frau' which is pretty trashy, low budget version with less cowboy hats and even MORE work.
In the Aussie version, there is a lot less praying and and lot more tea drinking.
Joy's big fancy hat 😭
I’ve been waiting for you to post about this HAHA
Thanks for covering this!! I love this show compared to the bachelor. I am not in my 20s anymore and need something more on the chill side.
Love it! The Australian Farmer Wants a Wife has been running since 2007. It was good for a few years then went to shite as they changed the formula. But way more genuine than the Bachelor. Also there is an Australian Bachelor and Bachelorette if you ever get bored!! 😆😆
Interesting. Why would a "city girl" ever apply for this show? Maybe to give her numbers a boost on Insta? Ty was my fav, btw.
The Australian version has been on for years now
Thank you for following this show
Yes yes yes!! I actually love this show. It’s so good.
And some farmers are women
It is WILD watching this US version when you're used to the Dutch version 😳
Oh you gotta do a video on The Ultimatum South Africa
I have been watching the us one for the 2 seasons. Not real exciting but nice. I wish they would not get all city girls, but then it would be boring, lol. I like all the Traitors shows. Us, Australia, New Zealand
I tried to watch the Australian version but I just couldn’t get it into it. How do you watch the other versions and which one should I start with?
oh my god my mom loves this show 😭😭
Please do some other of the farmer wants a wife seasons!
Mmmmm BFT does Farmer Takes a Wife video and I see Canada's version of it with..Farming for Love..coincidence? I think not...
Love this show , unfortunately there are very few recaps of it .
Just to fix you, this show is also in Sweden so...many seasons. Makes sense mathematically, more men and women to match in a better setup
Love this show!
The issue is simple bachelor contestant dont want love they want fame. These shows work when the contestant last home feels like a reality show
Will you be covering The GOAT? 🐐 The first episode is free on youtube and there are bachelor people and other top reality tv personalities on it. I liked it
Please review The Ultimatum: South Africa!!
Never clicked on anything so fast!
This is all I’ve every wanted
I watched and loved it. 😊❤
Are you going to recap the reunion?
