something that really bothered me with the CH controversy is how fans showed their true colors when they jumped to the conclusion of RL possibly becoming a host and was flagrantly racist towards her. I think franchises like this are responsible to a degree on how their fans act based on what they give them. You see it all the time with youtubers. Some fans are really respectful because the person they follow are respectful. I just feel like ABC is being overlooked by fostering some of the racism and prejudice they see in their fans. You cant be like "I had no idea this would happen!" when you blatantly exclude minorities for casting, never have producers back a poc or give them a great edit, or when you pick leads you know do not have diverse dating outlooks.
What's amazing is they don't see how blatantly racist it is to assume a black women will replace the white man then to act like it's the worst thing in the world. I followed it all on Twitter and people felt so emboldened by the culture they were being openly racist.
You're absolutely right. Trash people watch trash content, and the Bachelor franchise is complete garbage! This show needs to be retired, along with the Idol, Got Talent, and X-Factor shows. They exploit people's mental health issues for ratings, and I cannot understand how this kind of tripe has any place in an evolved, civilised society.
Looking back on it and finding out Matt and Rachel got back together fairly quickly and everybody kinda forgot about the whole controversy in the first place after awhile, Chris Harrison really got screwed
Ehhh, he made his own decision and made inflammatory comments that were too ignorant for TV. Celebrating an event that celebrated the antebellum south, a point in slavery and then say that the outrage shouldn't be a thing since it happened in 2018? Seriously? Not only was his response to Rachel Lindsay was insulting but that ENTIRE idea that it wouldn't be a big deal in 2018 but it is a big deal in 2020 is ENTIRELY IGNORANT. It's embarrassing to say the least
@@athenawolf4467 I think what he was trying to say is people were less offended by things in 2018 compared to 2020 they became more offended by things, and it's even worse now
He didn’t because Rachel was still wrong and CH was aggressive, making excuses for a person he didn’t know (clearly), and jumping down Rachel’s throat. He had no business acting like that and it revealed a ton about his character.
Disliked every single comment about missing Chris Harrison because why are you defending a boring insensitive dry ass white man who brought absolutely NOTHING to the show except his white bread and mayonnaise “personality”, he wasn’t funny or handsome at all and his biggest talent was deadass standing there and reading lines he was given. I have watched this show for YEARS since I was a little girl and I absolutely cannot fathom the public’s attachment to this man. In perhaps one of THE most pivotal moments of his entire career he chose to come to the defense of another privileged white person instead of attempting to have compassion for the opinions of the black community. Good riddance 😌
I rewatched Chris Harrison’s interview for this video and I gotta say, I don’t think Rachel Lindsey was wrong to ask the questions she did, and I know she got a lot of hate for her part in the situation. That’s wrong. I also have to say I don’t think Chris was wrong in his opinions, but I do think he could have presented his message in a much better way. His message through that interview boils down to “who are you to say that Rachel is racist, simply because she attended a specific type of sorority party that was popular among southern colleges in 2018?” It’s a completely fair and valid opinion and I agree with him, but as the host of a show you have a responsibility to your viewers to instead say “we aren’t sure what Rachel attending those parties mean about her character or what feelings Matt has on the matter, but we promise that this will be addressed and we ask that you refrain from judgement until the characters involved have a chance to share their experience.” It would be nice if they could also say “we assure you the audience that we fully vet the character of the contestants who appear on our show” but I don’t think they can honestly say that because it’s clear that they very much typecast and edit certain people to be villains and others to be heroes. All in all I’m sad at the way things went down because Rachel responded excellently to the accusations and with time her and Matt worked things out, while Chris (arguably one of the best parts of the franchise up until then) was forced to leave.
I’m glad that the Matt/Rachel controversy had a happy ending, I feel like Rachel is a prime example of how to come back and grow from a controversy, and her and Matt seem really good together. Also I never cared for Chris Harrison so I was glad when he got the boot too.
Rachael Kirkconnell is racist Matt is going to break up with her again eventually. Like come on she used to make of her classmates for liking black men.
chris harrison was the best part of the show most of the time. I also honestly didn't disagree with anything he said either. He was literally just saying "maybe it's a bad look but she has good intentions and we should give her the benefit of the doubt." What's so wrong with that? She's clearly not racist she was engaged to a black man lol
I stand with Chris Harrison… He should’ve never been fired for his opinion. Sororities do that type of stuff all the time, that whole thing was absolutely an utterly ridiculous.
I agree, Chris Harrison was fired for verbalizing his opinion as Rachel's and the woke crowds opinion automatically overuled! I happen to agree with Chris about the woke generation thinking they are right about everything without any room for compromise. They knew they were wrong to fire him that's why the humongous severance package!
Yeah, I think he made the show what it was, though I stopped watching a couple seasons ago. I like the highlights, the drama gets to be too much. Seems like the lead is left to their own devices, especially with two Bachelorettes this time... what a dumpster fire and only two episodes in.
It was such a stupid reason as to why they fired Chris Harrison. What he said was not that bad because she went to a plantation party in college and he said people should forgive her OMG get out the firing squad. People are paranoid these days.
Honestly tho with the chris harrison firing he made a good point- sororities were doing those parties and she was just a participant the real issue is with sororities as a whole and that probably was just a party with no celebration of the old south, simply a theme for the fashion and rachel was like 20
I agree with you that sororities/fraternities are the ones who perpetrate these racist themed events. However, it’s important for those people who are a part of those systems to acknowledge their part in it. A sorority cannot exist without individuals so personally responsibility is necessary.
Just because sororities were doing it doesn't mean that he should have defended those racist behaviors. He should have know right from wrong tbh and he put his own career on the line to defend someone who should have known better as well. Just because it's a sorority or a frat doesn't mean their actions aren't reprehensible. He even chose to demean another former contestant Rachel Lindsay by implying that she was exaggerating and that the issue wouldn't be a big deal in 2018 but it is now because it's 2021. A completely ignorant statement regarding everything that was going on in 2018 and before that. BLM started in 2012, they were around making noise. It's no excuse
What's the difference between Hannah Brown & Luke P's breakup, & Clayton/Suzie's? Luke told her he couldn't get passed her having sex with the other men, she said she did & that Jesus still loved her(bringing in faith just like Clay), she got upset & said her husband would never say this or put her in that position, then sent him home. So since Hannah is a woman we praised her for her "Jesus ❣️" line, but criticize Clay for bringing his faith into it, getting mad/defensive @ her. I don't get it?!
With all of Matt’s respect but I can’t imagine Rachael raising a black kid honest to God. Like I can’t get back together with someone who celebrates antebellum and someone who used make fun of girls for liking black guys. I hope Matt breaks up with her again!
I really liked Chris Harrison and the show has not been the same since they fired him. He was BY FAR the best host. I’m glad he got 10 million. I don’t watch the stupid show any more.
With Chris's apology, I for one would have liked to see Chris come back. It's just not even close to being a great show without Chris hosting the Bachelor's series. I watched 3 episodes after Chris was removed until I just quit watching all together. Chris Harrison, by far is the person who needed to host. BRING CHRIS HARRISON BACK!!!! I am not speaking for myself, but for many!!
it’s very weird that you use the abuse situation to justify such a completely different situation. WB and ABC are different companies like what are you talking about
@@TheSuperNats One offered an unfavorable opinion. The other made false accusations and was proven physically abusive. Guess which one was fired? Two different companies but so what?
So what is that you sound dumb. It's like saying "someone from McDonalds got fired so why didn't this dude from Wal-Mart" different CEO's, different rules, different people. There is nothing the sqme
It’s a complete shame that one of best couples to come out of the franchise, and the first interracial couple get a blot on their record because a college student dared to go to a sorority party. It’s ridiculous.
I’m so disappointed and upset that Rachel Lindsay didn’t use her common sense and interview Rachael Kirkconnell instead of Chris Harrison. That would’ve better for her, Chris Harrison and the franchise. Bachelor Nation is absolutely dreadful without Chris Harrison. I wish I could bring him back.
To which she would have asked “what’s common sense”? The Michael Strahan interview was pathetic. After hearing what he said about Chris after the interview, I knew that this wasn’t going to go away. I don’t watch or listen to anything that she is on. I certainly don’t watch the morning program that Michael is on. Oh well, they would probably dislike me very much if they met me. Or, they might hate me if they read the words that I just wrote about them.
I always feel like politics should not be brought into shows or Hollywood. I liked Garrett as a person and I get where people are coming from but I don’t think he was a racist horrible guy. It looks like he obviously leans more to the right and some of these likes were on posts that were jokes and during a sensitive time when a lot of protests were still happening.
@@Br-ov7sd and he didn’t even justify racism… if he even did it was a extremely overdramatized to get him out. in fact none of this would’ve been an issue if cancel culture wasn’t so big in our society. He did so much good, yet as soon as he slipped up and made one mistake, he was crucified. Cancel culture and all this “woke” shit isn’t good for society. Just makes everyone hate each other.
I agree he shouldn't have been fired but to continue having a host that hold those ignorant viewpoints and then got defensive when a former contestant tried to explain the issue about it, firmly defending another contestant who was in the wrong, is kind of, weird to say the least. I believe it was more of his reaction to the whole thing and his talk with Rachel Lindsay that ended his career with the franchise. He came off as an ignorant fool set in his ways and it was not a good look for the franchise that was starting to become more inclusive. It was frankly, embarrassing
I understand why chris' comments came off a certain way, but at the end of the day all he was saying is "rachel doesnt really deserve this backlash". This show needs to be retired, along with the Idol, Got Talent, and X-Factor shows. They exploit people's mental health issues for ratings, and I cannot understand how this kind of tripe has any place in an evolved, civilised society.
Love your videos, I'm always excited when I get the notification for a new video!!
Maybe make a “where are they now” and “who are they with” video?
Thanks!
I died @ “Garret Yr, Garret Yr… Garret Y”. 😂😂😂😂😂
Ugh why are they apologizing they did nothing wrong EXCEPT for apologizing
Looking back on it and finding out Matt and Rachel got back together fairly quickly and everybody kinda forgot about the whole controversy in the first place after awhile, Chris Harrison really got screwed
@@christaggart5687 so agree! 👏👏👏👏👏
@@athenawolf4467 I think what he was trying to say is people were less offended by things in 2018 compared to 2020 they became more offended by things, and it's even worse now
yep
He didn’t because Rachel was still wrong and CH was aggressive, making excuses for a person he didn’t know (clearly), and jumping down Rachel’s throat. He had no business acting like that and it revealed a ton about his character.
Only here to say i'm sad Paradise isn't on until fall, lol.
The way BIP handled the C D scandal still feels messed up to me.
His name is Garrett Yogurt now. I don’t make the rules.
The Roslyn thing still makes me mad two consenting adults can’t have a “inappropriate” relationship.
Especially when you consider the producers and Chris Harrison have had many relationships with contestants 🍵
They can though
They CAN but not when you’re like… on a show to date a specific person… smh
@@tiger1within909 while that specific person is dating 30 other people
It is when it’s a workplace relationship where a producer has some level of control over her and it wasn’t disclosed to HR.
you got some of the best content on youtube dude you belong wherever they going to pay you the most for your skills
9:18 Roslyn was the most attractive in the franchise history. She looked like Scarlett Johansson! She didn’t even get a chance to defend herself!
Meh. She came back for the women tell all and was able to give her side of it so...🤦🏽♀️
Where’s stagecoach Blake!
no he didn't really romantically croon hannah with a damn dog food jingle?!
Another awesome video, thank you! 👏🏻🌹
You’re amazing 🤩
This was a good viedo👏🏾
None can compare to what just aired.
Golden Bachelor Gerry. tops all
When I tell you I clicked so fast! 👀😂
They made Becca out to be the victim of Arie with the drawn out uncut clips, but he made the exact right decision and is very happy with Lauren.
Social media is playing to much in people's lives. Just because you like a post? WTF is wrong with this world
Disliked every single comment about missing Chris Harrison because why are you defending a boring insensitive dry ass white man who brought absolutely NOTHING to the show except his white bread and mayonnaise “personality”, he wasn’t funny or handsome at all and his biggest talent was deadass standing there and reading lines he was given.
You were the best Chris!!!!!
How can you be saddened and shocked at what you said?????
COURTSHIP!!! There's a guy who lives in a van
Dean?lol
I’m glad that the Matt/Rachel controversy had a happy ending, I feel like Rachel is a prime example of how to come back and grow from a controversy, and her and Matt seem really good together. Also I never cared for Chris Harrison so I was glad when he got the boot too.
Rachael Kirkconnell is racist Matt is going to break up with her again eventually. Like come on she used to make of her classmates for liking black men.
I like Jesse as a host, it was time for Harrison to move on. He got millions to enjoy
Is anyone perfect? If you are not you need to give people a break. Judgment is the down fall of many a people. Are YOU perfect?
No pressure to answer, but I love your channel and was just wondering how your health has been lately? I hope you're feeling and doing well 🙂
chris harrison was the best part of the show most of the time. I also honestly didn't disagree with anything he said either. He was literally just saying "maybe it's a bad look but she has good intentions and we should give her the benefit of the doubt." What's so wrong with that? She's clearly not racist she was engaged to a black man lol
I miss Chris Harrison. And no that doesn’t make me racist 🙄
Thanks for this! I’m going to go take a nap now.
2024 and I still hate Jed with all my heart
I stand with Chris Harrison… He should’ve never been fired for his opinion. Sororities do that type of stuff all the time, that whole thing was absolutely an utterly ridiculous.
I want Chris Harrison back in. He is the best host and was the best.
Miss you Steve...not the same. Those 2 girls were a joke.
It was such a stupid reason as to why they fired Chris Harrison. What he said was not that bad because she went to a plantation party in college and he said people should forgive her OMG get out the firing squad. People are paranoid these days.
To me it’s all a bunch of bull hockey!
Chad turn into Hulk
Honestly tho with the chris harrison firing he made a good point- sororities were doing those parties and she was just a participant the real issue is with sororities as a whole and that probably was just a party with no celebration of the old south, simply a theme for the fashion and rachel was like 20
I agree with you that sororities/fraternities are the ones who perpetrate these racist themed events. However, it’s important for those people who are a part of those systems to acknowledge their part in it. A sorority cannot exist without individuals so personally responsibility is necessary.
Age isn’t an excuse. I’m 19 and know better
@@Br-ov7sd period 💯
It's no excuse
there was also a black female at the same party dressed up, it is now just a dress up party
I used to think Chris Harrison got burned. But now I realized he escaped the asylum with a fat check ✅ win win 😂
Chris Harrison removed from his own show for having a controversial stance yet Amber Heard still hasn’t been fired/removed… How does that make sense?
It’s not his own show. He simply hosted it. You’re talking about two completely different companies. You’re comparing apples to oranges
@@Br-ov7sd oh pls, amber;s got gender privilege
it’s very weird that you use the abuse situation to justify such a completely different situation.
Bring Chris back!
Antebellum is a history of the southern states, get over people!
BS mike...
Chris did nothing wrong.
Chris Harrison did NOTHING wrong and the show has the worst ratings ever now that he’s gone.
Roses and rose was a million times better than any recap channel and chris harrison didnt do anything wrong.
I hate what happened to Chris Harris. He is still the best! I so wish he would come back. He did nothing wrong.
Chris Harrison leaving is ALL Rachel Lindsey's fault.
Don’t watch anymore since Chris is gone
I still have issues with the whole Chris Harrison situation. He should’ve never been fired but atleast he got his bag
Oh so you can excuse justifying racism. Got it
@@Br-ov7sd yes that’s exactly what I said. Really shows you can read and have comprehension skills.
@@athenawolf4467 actually not a bad take
I understand why chris' comments came off a certain way, but at the end of the day all he was saying is "rachel doesnt really deserve this backlash". She probably is a very nice person, and i understand people were upset with her past but she should be treated with grace and forgiveness. The punishment she and chris got did not fit the crime imo.
The show is not the same without Chris honestly
I still think Chris Harrison did nothing wrong. I want Chris Harrison back.
Women on the show act like that constantly but Chris had a bad interview and they shunned him. Such a sexist show and sexist community that is “bachelor nation”!
I miss Chris Harrison. Or rather, what he represented, which was a mindless trashy reality dating show. You see, I’m smart enough not to need to look to reality tv for anything more than it is. Everyone else got butthurt about…oh who cares? Go back to reddit and fight for the future of humanity because that’s an excellent use of your time
I want Chris Harrison back I don’t care what he said I want him back
I feel like without Chris on the show, it’s just not the same, wish they could’ve sort it out, rather then canceling the man, this whole cancel stuff is just a joke, you fix the problem, not cry about it and run away from theses things, stuff needs to change
No negotiating with a racist!
Right. Fixing the problem is deplatforming people who think it’s ok to justify racist actions. So…it’s been solved. Deal with it❤️
@Elaine Diamond yes they didn’t know, and if they didn’t know then you need to cut them some slack because they weren’t aware of the situation, and they all apologized!!! Like what else could they do. We all make mistakes, it happens
@Elaine Diamond "how racist can she be if she's engaged to a black man" is not the argument you think it is.
@Elaine Diamond “I’m not racist, I have a black friend” not the serve you think it is. He was wrong, that’s it. That apology was not for you Elaine to accept.
I have not watch the bachelor or bachelorette since Chris Harrison has not been on! The bimbos to do the show I just cannot watch!
Miss you Chris Harrison💔💔💔
