What a switcheroo Gerry! I felt like he felt or thought he knew Leslie was the one, but then he completely changed his mind. Poor Leslie is going to be devastated. I am still sad Faith went home.
My money is on Faith coming back as the first Golden Bachelorette. She did an interview last Friday and even said she'd do it if asked. Faith has a compelling life story (unconventional Mormon upbringing and not raised by her parents, homeless teen, ex-husband who she was still close to died at home last year in a freak accident) the kind of interesting story the producers of the show could and would exploit. Also, they look for a lead that can carry a show and Faith has the personality for that. And lastly, Faith got the proverbial "Bachelorette edit" on the show.

Hopefully Leslie becomes the Golden Batchelorette and finds a man a bit closer to her age . I think she is too hot for Gerry to handle.

I feel people are confusing Theresa's confidence in what she can bring to a relationship and her ability to empathize with Gerry with her being a 'pick me' woman. She is not a pick me woman. She knows her worth and is confident in that. I imagine she is financially stable. She's a smart, accomplished woman who may be more adventurous than we are being shown. You don't think she'd have rappelled down that waterfall if that was her date? The editors are making sure they put these women in two different categories so that we can be surprised by the finale, take sides along the way and root for people. I'm 65 and would love to know both these women for very different reasons. Gerry is choosing someone to be in a relationship with, not just do adventurous things with.

I just rewatched the season preview and at 0:29 you hear a woman say “you made it sound like you chose me” but then cuts to Ellen. I really think this sounds like Leslie and it matches up with Gerry telling Leslie he thinks she’s the one

I feel like during the fantasy suite they could also talk about debts, retirement money, etc. and I feel like this is extremely important given their age….. Theresa seems very smart and responsible where Leslie is more exciting like Gerry says but maybe not the most put together, also her being divorced twice Vs Theresa being a widow says a lot
Well people keep talking about the chemistry between Leslie and him, but they have more in common than what has been talked about. We already know they’re both athletic and like the outdoors and enjoy physical activities, but do we understand her ex-husband was in the restaurant business and was very successful, and Gerry is also has been in the restaurant business, so she probably knows a lot about it. Leslie is more vulnerable than T, and maybe that’s why I like her the best. She is sensitive and kind and would honestly try to work out the distance between them or anything else, including becoming fond of his family. Her comment about distance and her family just is saying to him that she won’t give up everything for him, but she will compromise and earnestly seek solutions because he’s going to be so important to her life.

Apparently some of those issues are also talked about on regular Bachelor/ette seasons, only not showcased because they don't fit the romance narrative. Rachel Lindsay has said she talked with her top 3 on Fantasy Suites about their financial situation and even asked for their credit scores, and it's likely multiple leads and contestants might have talked about that too on FS, especially the ones who aren't the youngest.
I think Teresa is much more suitable for Gerry. She is a smart cookie and successful in her business.

It's so interesting to see how well he and Theresa connected because I really didn't see it b4 except for 1st date when he said sge reassured Jim by touching him when he was nervous driving with no lights. The rest of the time it was we both lost our spouses but that's not that unique or what should define Theresa as the one!
I felt the same way. And honestly I feel like that’s how Gerry felt until this fantasy sweet date.
Typically when people had good marriages where is people who are divorced sometimes don't learn from their mistakes and they take those mistakes into another marriage and people that had a good marriage sometimes have trouble understanding that so it's something to think about I think these two were meant for each other Teresa and Gerry😊
I kind of got messed up typically when people have a good marriage they know how to do marriage and now they're getting together they should do very well as opposed to people who couldn't work out the marriage and picked the wrong people so I'm happy for both of them very happy for both of them
The fact that Theresa was the only lady he told he loved them for the first time IN PRIVATE screams out to me that she is his final pick ❤it’s so sweet !!! Especially coming from a show where EVERYTHING is meant to be in front of the cameras and shown !

Don’t get me wrong, I still think Gerry is precious. But I think he is the kind of person that is TOO emotionally open. He will fall in love with whomever makes him feel special or a new person a different day. Those kind of guys are sometimes more dangerous than the overt fboys 😂😂😂

Although in the season preview there's a moment where he seems to be walking off with someone with bare neck dress and Leslie is wearing one like this in the next episode, as well as the person was taller than Theresa, so it's either a fake out from the wedding dress group date or it looks more like Leslie.

I think Gerry said it a few shows back, it is just not about finding love, it is about finding a good fit. -What do you risk when you have unprotected sex? "Your partner dies on top of you" cracks me up every time. So enjoy your videos. After thinking Teresa was on the bottom now I am thinking perhaps she will be on top. I think the editing has been spectacular. A lot more time on the drama with the process versus drama with the cookie cutter villain contestants.

Always remember this is a reality show and people are cast for roles. My guess is they all agree to play like they are in love to throw off the true connection. All the I love yous are for ratings. IMO. What woman would agree to marry someone who just professed love to all 3 women? Gerry, have you forgotten your daughters and granddaughters are watching you toy with all the ladies’ feelings? Fantake originally picked Theresa as Gary's final choice; I didn't see it at first because of so many beautiful woman.... However, her personality, energy, and lifestyle is so youthful..... I hope Gary chooses her because, she appears to be the real deal, generous, family oriented, loving and kind..... Leslie, is sexy, daring, living on the edge and youthful., while giving off vibes of a biker chick , who lives on the edge. of excitement...... And even those are amazing qualities for many men, that's not Gary.; I'm sure she is thrilling, and beautiful to Gary.... but not the right woman long term.... I really hope he chooses Theresa because I think it will be a lifelong love.....

I really like Theresa very much. But, as a senior man (77) who lost his one great love more than 3 years ago, I think Leslie would open more doors to new and fun activities. I lost interest in so many things when I lost my wife. I believe that Gerry would be happy with Theresa, but would open up and find joy again with Leslie and be able to do so much together. His daughters should not try to influence his decision. I wish only love and happiness to Gerry and whoever he chooses. But, I want the other woman to find love and joy too.
Very interesting perspective; appreciate your sharing. I had been rooting for Leslie but as the episode wore on, Gerry seemed to be hinting he wants someone more safe and stable.

She got his attention with her introduction with the wig and the walker and then her sexy dance and all that but I don't see it in a deeper way. I think Ellen was nice for him but he didn't have a strong connection with her. While I didn't like Teresa in the very beginning, I see now that she's the best choice for him in the long run.

Teresa has always come off as desperate, but I'm seeing now that she is just very eager to have what she lost with her late husband. I do see her and Gerry working out more than him and Leslie.
Initially, I did not like Theresa. She was at the bottom of my picks. Now, she has grown on me. There is something geniune about her. She is the one - really mature. Leslie has been married twice and has emotional issues at her age.
@@lorrainejennings7344 I feel the same way, Theresa kinda annoyed me in the beginning as well but she’s definitely grown on me too, not to mention they have both gone through similar situations with losing a spouse-not to say that is the only reason they should be together but they seem very compatible but you can’t argue the chemistry he has with Leslie but not sure if the relationship will Leslie will survive on that alone. I’m sure it will be very difficult for Gerry to give that final rose.

I really like Theresa! She showed a lot of depth in this episode. Leslie is more of a free spirit to me. I think he is more physically attached to Leslie but everything changed after talking for hours with Theresa.
Until this episode I wasn’t a huge fan on Teresa. But now I actually really like her. I can see her and Gerry making a life together work, and I think he and Leslie are just too different in their previous relationships.
I think it's the parallel between Theresa & Garry's lives that will give comfort. Familiarity, substituting so to speak. I'm not Anti Theresa but something bugs me about her I can't put my finder on. But I can see him chasing her. I wanted Leslie, but they do have life e periences that are very different.
I also wasn’t a fan of Theresa until this episode. I have warmed up to her a bit, but liked Faith more. I am not sure Theresa was all that innocent in her talking about how he came in to her bedroom to her to console her. I don’t blame the other one for saying “zip it”.
I think she is very competitive too much so, but this isn’t about if she can get a man. It’s about being truthful and vulnerable

I think Theresa is just the easy choice. Besides being most convenient, with that choice, he wouldn't have to feel guilty about leaving Toni "behind," so to speak. Also, he wouldn't have to feel guilty about falling deeply in love with another person, like he potentially could with Leslie.

I think Gerry overdid it by practically proposed to Leslie saying "I think you're the one" referring to what Trista said about picking the woman you can't live without. He also told her that he wants to be with her morning, noon and night. Neither of them want to leave family and say they'll work it out but that's a big roadblock. I think he'll pick Theresa although during the hometown visit they said she visits family every day. That doesn't sound like someone who will easily want to relocate. But I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't pick either of them because it was said "it will be a BIG surprise." How much of a surprise could it be if it's either or!
Leslie provides fun and adventure but she does not have the depth of maturity and stability of Theresa. Theresa has so much going for her. I see Leslie as great but temporary. Theresa is that wife that will stick with him, can have mature, deep conversations and is self sufficient and intelligent. Leslie is more of a girlfriend type to me. When the sex gets to be routine - there's not much left with her.

Honestly I’ve really liked Theresa this whole time, even with the dumb drama w Kathy I still liked her. I think her and Gerry could be a great match. Same with Leslie. I don’t think he could go wrong with either of them! Just two very different personalities and types of love/relationships. I hope whoever he chooses, they are happy together, and the single lady can maybe become Golden Bachelorette?
As far as choosing, I’m confident in Gerry choosing who he truly thinks is best for himself, so I’m happy either way.

I keep searching for who Gerry picks but can't find it anywhere. Is this the 1st year for no spoilers? I really hope he picks Leslie. There's something about Theresa that doesn't sit right with me. Gerry did mention her at the Women Tell All, but who knows. The Bachelor Producers are probably pleased they've done such a good job of squashing the spoilers.

Personally nervous for Leslie about the ending being Theresa and not her. He has reassured Leslie with things like “you’re my girl”, “I love you”, “you’re the one”, and when she’s talked about her past and being abandoned, he makes promises that he’ll never do that.
I really wish the franchise would go back to where the lead did not tell anyone they loved them. Ever since Ben Higgins we’ve had this mess, and it’s too much, especially for our golden crew, and even more especially for someone like Leslie.

You have to bear in mind that every show needs good ratings. They're going to keep up the suspense between the last two women.....I'm rooting for Leslie. Something about Teresa never sat right with me. And he told Leslie, "I think you're the one." !!! I don't think it matters that they have both lost their spouses, as much as it matters that the connection is there in many other ways.

I can't even guess who he picks. Don't most people start out a new relationship with more chemistry and connection, than familiar and safe? Even at their ages, don't you want to start out with fireworks and not just a small campfire? Maybe that's just me.

I believe that Gerry was in love with Theresa and Leslie all along ,but planned on waiting until the end to tell his choice…Remember he told Jesse he didn’t say he didn’t love Theresa when Jessie asked what would it take to fall in love with her? Anyway with Leslie , it slipped out of his mouth by accident because he planned on saving the ‘ I love you ‘ until the end to the chosen woman…Anyway my guess is on Theresa because she is the best fit AND he loves her,It wasn’t a last minute switch.Remember this is an edited TV show.They love to make viewers guess…I’m sure they have much footage between Theresa and Gerry that shows how into her he is ,but chose to only show the Leslie footage,Throwing the viewer off .That is why I know he will choose Theresa the Leslie choice appears obvious and the shows loves to surprise us at the end.

Leslie didn't day she wouldn't leave Minnesota. She said she didn't want to leave forever. Meaning she is willing to move if she can go back to visit often.
Maybe they could find a place in between their families, like 4 hours away each way.
Sounds like a no go to me. Why wouldn't they pick people who live in the same place???

He's not going to move from Hoosierville, when all his friends and family are there. whatever façade he's presenting, make no mistake; he's stuck in his ways. Also, if I was either of those women, I would take that "car" for a test run and see if it still works. You don't want to spend your few precious remaining years with a "car" that malfunctions. I'm saying this as a senior.
He did say on the show, I think it was the first episode, when there was a segment showing me at his house on the lake, "I want someone to share this with" . There was more to it but it implied that whoever he chooses in the end would be moving there.
Great recap Fantake. I did feel too that Gerry would pick Leslie because he spent more time with her and did more with her but I also feel this could be the producers wanting us to believe that Gerry picked Leslie instead of Theresa. Logically Theresa makes more sense for Gerry because although it’s not “ fiery” between the 2 of them, they would work longer together. I love both women but longevity would happen with Theresa. It's a shame that the good old days are gone...when the leads kept their feelings to themselves until there was only the F1 left. The multiple "I love you's" and "you're my girl", "you're the one"...are particularly unkind. I'm surprised that Gerry would be this cavalier and callous.

My gut is saying he chooses Theresa, but now that you mentioned this and also the fact that Leslie is going to have a fitness retreat in Costa Rica in February, I can’t decide. I don’t know what Leslie would do, but I sure wouldn’t want to have it there after Gerry said your the one and then get dumped.

I actually think I know who he picks. I went back to watch the first episode tonight and in the series preview at the end of the episode, they had a major fake out which I think is actually a huge spoiler. The camera is on Ellen who has her head in her hands crying but you don’t see her speaking when a crying voice says “you made it sound like you chose me”. And after watching the whole season, I now know that’s Leslie’s voice not Ellen’s! So based on that sleuthing, I think Gerry picks Theresa. Which was my hope from the beginning.
And I also have my hopes up for Faith as Golden Bachelorette, but I have no proof for that one.

This was so hard to watch (but also good tv). I feel he ended up really connecting on an intellectual level to Theresa and I think they are aligned in a lot of ways. I think he also has a tremendous amount of respect for her. Almost challenged by her.
I felt that Leslie and him have spent so much time building up a feeling of safety and protection and also intense attraction.
It’s up to Gerry. They both are lovely. I worry less for Theresa if she isn’t picked. But I also think she’s actually the better match. I really adore Leslie, though, and am sure they’ve had intellectual convos. Just maybe not as many similarities in terms to a partner who has passed. I think the fact that they both talked to their past partners and can so easily discuss that (with only admiration and understanding) is a pretty big thing.
I’m a single mom and my last boyfriend really struggled with the fact that I had a life (13 years) with my ex husband. We had a beautiful relationship, but it’s one of the reasons we didn’t work out. Someone already divorced may be able to better understand coparenting and how a past life together is just part of the story. And it was on his part. It was too much for him.
Perfectly said with fantastic insight . Leslie is fun and sexy and would be a great Batchelorette. But l think that Teresa has been the victim of the famous Batchelor Nation bad edit . I also think Garry was very impressed that when Theresa’s husband said that they needed more money for health insurance she went out a got a job , a good job . I think there is a lot more to Theresa than the bad editing she got !

Gerry told Leslie outright that she was "the one." What a horrible thing to do to her, to say that and then change his mind! (And he came close to the same maneuver with both Faith and Ellen). And, as a "senior" myself, I need to point out that this is very different from the Bachelor shows with the young and beautiful. The young ones, though they may be let down and disappointed (maybe "heartbroken") have many years left to find their mate. Most of them are in their 20's - they might not even be ready for a mature relationship. But these women in their 60's and 70's know that there probably won't be many, if any, chances left. The stakes are WAY higher. I call this cruelty!!
I am anxious to see if what a preview portrayed, will actually occur. That he tells Theresa (something to the effect) that his feelings have changed or not as strong and her getting very upset. Anyone recall that?
I heard Gerry on a podcast that he was certified in mediation and can read body language, voice fluctuations etc and his daughters are able to do that too. He said they were instrumental in helping to confirm his final decision.

Yeah- what if she was an undertaker who embalmed dead bodies all day, or someone who cleaned murder scenes? Like I would be asking these questions in my very first meeting. I also don’t think I would ever have dated someone who works at a gym doing “ training”- that equates to a gym rat who doesn’t want a real job. Or a “social media influencer” - someone who wants to sit on facebook all day.

I did some sleuthing y’all!!! I went back to watch the season preview and theirs a clip where Gerry says sorry to Theresa and she’s crying saying “how is this happening” and Gerry is wearing the same shirt where he says “I haven’t felt this bad since my wife died and this is a goddam close second” so I’m assuming he breaks up with Theresa night before proposal and he chooses Leslie
I think Gerry knew that Leslie was on the fence and REALLY wanted her to be sure. I am really sad he sent Faith home but I think he knew she didn’t want to move. Theresa really makes the most sense to actually do life together, but I do feel it’s a little forced chemistry wise.
But after the episode ... Theresa seems like a much better catch than she seemed the rest of the show. I think they’ll do well together.
I think its really obvious Gerry is all in on Leslie. The editors are trying their best and got people to doubt but just listen to what he says and how he looks at Leslie compared to Theresa.

I think that alone kind of bonds them. I really didn’t like Theresa but if the two I think she is the better fit and yes, her saying she has never been with someone since her husband speaks volumes to the sentiment she has for her husband and marriage and how she sees relationships which I really respect. She threw herself into her work and is willing to give it up for a relationship with Gerry, I don’t believe Leslie is willing to slow down in the same way. I never thought I would say this but Theresa is likely the better pick.

I picked Theresa from the beginning. Everyone thought I was crazy. Vut I think that Gerry wants someone who is willing to be flexible and change to match his life and Theresa always seemed the one most willing to follow him. I think he had a great love for Faith but she wasn't very flexible.
I think Leslie making jokes when being asked about serious questions was just her having her guard up, so if it is Theresa I’ll feel bad that this is the edit she got

That's what I was thinking, too. But, he was married ages ago, surely when him and his first wife were young and in love, it was exciting and new. It grew to become comfortable and safe.
