  • So we have hooked up Ole Ernie to the Akron grain bagger (big thanks to Akron) and are trying to brush the rust off on making bags again. 😆🤦🏻‍♂️

    Hi from Argentina, Akron is an argentinian company, and we are so proud that their machines are used all over the World. Also I want to add that bags were created here too

      Thanks! I was wondering about this, but struggled to find their origin. You see, we have a company named Akron in Scandinavia as well, so I wondered if there were any connections. But now I know :)

      Do you know if the Argentinian bags are animal proofed against such animals as deer, gophers, badgers, bear etc-?.

    Had a large farmer in our area bagged all their sunflowers talking several thousand acres. Few years back. When they stsrted hauling out thdy discovered some type of disease in the flowers. The whole crop was rejected by company that took them. Producer had insurance on the crop so it wasnt total loss. Long story short they went around and burned all the bags scattered all over a country.

    My son has a bagger and we have remote controls on it so buggy driver can turn on pto, rev up tractor ,adjust brake pressure and steer bagger tractor from seat of buggy tractor. Unfortunately the steering on MF 1135 needs new wave washers in hand pump so it wanders worse if you have steering control motor engaged.

  • @leegordon861

    This whole concept is really cool! Thanks for showing us the ropes, Mike! ;) I think this kind of storage will be used a lot more in the future - sadly, because no farmer would use all this plastic to store their grain if they could afford the bins to handle all of their crops, but it is always great to have such a good way to take care of excess crops in those rare years when you really get a good yield! This method is starting to make its way into Europe as well, I guess mostly because of all that flexibility. I mean, it is a bit more work, but buildings and handling facilities like at a bin site would be pretty expensive. The exuipment, like the one for filling the bags, and the extractor doesn´t really take up a lot of space when stored, but you´ve got close to infinite space available for storing crops when you need it.
    If it was me, I´d cut a 17-18" wooden stick to measure that stretch, seems a lot more handy than that flimsy strip of paper... ;)
    Also, I think every farmer around the world can relate to doing your comment about doing anything where other farmers can see it ;D ;D ;D Everyone likes to point out any crooked lines, bald spots or what have you! I think it´s kinda funny though, and I think every farmer commenting on it knows exactly how easily it could happen to themselves ;)
    Ernie 2.0 is looking real good doing his thing, though - gotta love those old timers :)

  • @ke6gwf
    @ke6gwf 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You should go Pro-level and put a side reach tow bar on the grain cart tractor to both steer and pull Ernie up the hills! Then you just need the second person to measure the grain bag, talk, and wave their arms like they are important!

    Mike you need to take the strap and put it threw the slot on the pan not behind the pan like you have it. Keep the bagger tilted towards tractor a bit makes use of the slope of the bagger wall to assist with pushing 15” is no stretch in the bag that’s factory length of the mark good luck
