X Series might be "Ex" Series 🫣

  • So we are back to the lentils again and having lots issues getting the material out the back of the combine, but yet the S series has no problems with it.
You see, it's not a matter of conditions, it's a matter of why will the S series push it through all day long but the X will not?.. It's because the X actually has a problem that Deere knows about but doesn't have the answer to yet.
Unfortunately though the S series will push through the plant material, the header is not capable of cutting and contouring to the rolly ground. So as much as I want to use the S series and get done the lentils, I ll have to wait until the X can manage it.

I would definitely be on the phone with John Deere to get the X9 to work or buy it back. I have to admit that having the engine running while being inside the machine made me very nervous and I would recommend shutting it off to clear the plug. Crapo family farms about 50,000 acres here in east Idaho. Every year they get 10 new green combines. This year they ordered 4 X9's and then 6 S780's.
NONE of the X9's made it through harvest this year without breaking down. In fact - they were so behind with harvest this year that they rented 3 7250's to get them through...and they bleed green. Pissed them off so bad that they canceled next year's order of X9's and are seriously considering going with red machines. Gonna be reeeeally interesting.

    Hello from Australia.
We lift the choppers and install custom made panels which concentrate the straw into a narrow windrow which is then burnt. This augments the grass weed control enabled by the chemical rotation from the legume phase.
It's done with all legumes, which for us means field peas and lentils.
Unfortunately you may not get a dry down period in order to burn before the snow, I don't know.
And the wind you blokes get would be a problem for windrow integrity.
It is, however, a handy tool for stubble/weed management and no problems with plugging!
