Many people can use current events to bolster their spiritual image. Sometimes you don't need the power of prophecy to foresee what's going to happen. If you make a prophecy about the election (or anything else with similar outcomes), it's a 50-50 chance that you are going to be right, and then take credit for it, solidifying the belief that you are indeed a prophet and people need to believe you. This is still prophecy darts, and it is rather silly to make a prediction like this, in my opinion. The only consequence, if you are right, doesn't really have anything to do with glorifying God but instead brings attention to the "prophet." Even though I made this video before the events of July 13th, my point still stands: I'm not trying to "debunk" prophecy. A lot of times, prophecy is used to bring attention to God and spread the Gospel. My issue is whenever people misuse prophecy to bring attention to themselves and gain power. The question to ask: Who is this really glorifying?
Unfortunately, most of the charismatic leaders that claim to be prophets do not have good intentions. For example, look at Mike Winger's video that he did with Remnant Radio, where he reviewed James Goll's prophecy about Amy Coney Barrett. He proves that James was using the newspapers to try and bolster his own position as a prophetic leader.
I'm not a Prophet, first and foremost. That said, two years ago God laid somethings on my heart to write down in a journal for those left behind, and when they (the events) didn't happen last year I stuffed the papers away. But this year they have. I felt that He had told me that Trump would win again after Biden and that Vance (I called him the Ohio 'Senator in White') would become his running mate. I had no clue how this would happen, but as I watched things unfold this year, and then Vance got picked as his VP, I remembered the pages I wrote and found them again and reread them. I wish I could post them here as proof but I can't. Now last night an image came to mind that I could _not_ shake, followed by the worst night of sleep since my pregnancy induced insomnia: Liberty, the Mother of Exiles, Lady Wearing the face of Two (3 if you do your research!!) Men, Carrying the torch of the 'lightning who fell from heaven'. And I saw Liberty, and on her right side her face was overshadowed by the face of Trump, the light shining through the hole in his right ear, and on her left side she was overshadowed by Vance, and as I looked upon this confusing image, I saw behind her a third man peaking out through all four (their inner eyes overlapping hers) eyes, and behind them I saw a Man like the King of kings, His face shrouded from clarity by just enough shadow I couldn't see his features, and before I could look deeper to find them, He opened His mouth and flames of many colors poured out from His tongue, Devouring the image. And I watched as the image was burned away as though it were paper rather than the Coppery-Gold (color?). I am not a Prophet, I am not claiming to be, but I do think God showed me this for a reason. So I'm sharing this. I do not trust Trump or Vance, despite what I know they can do for our country. Something isn't right in my spirit when I look at the Senator in White. We need to keep our eyes *_fixed_* on Yeshua Ha Meshiach, Jesus Christ! 🙌🏻✝️💜
I was just about to make this very comment, when I saw yours. When I come across someone who self-appoints themselves as an 'apostle,’ I *immediately* know that that person cannot be trusted, full stop.
We live in a world where politics is part & parcel to what we should know about what is going on around us! And I am not in any way diminishing the importance of the gospel!
Ever notice how no one writes any book to COUNTER Cults anymore? How long has it been since Walter Martin wrote "Kingdom of the Cults"? Here's what i think happened: the Cults got wise. Nowadays, "everybody" calls themselves "Non-denominational" and now its all more vague/cloudy and therefore harder to criticize. BUT-- You don't know what yer getting! It could be most anything (Cultish). With Non-denominational, there is a VERY good chance that the Preacher is NOT ordained, has not been to seminary, does NOT have any degree in either Theology OR New Testament studies....but rather he simply "received a calling" and there you are.
@@dabbler1166interesting; I have noticed in the area that I have lived for the last 30 some odd years, the churches have changed their names from “such and such United Methodist Church” to “such and such Faith Community” or from “such and such Baptist Church “ to just “such and such Church”. On the inside, or during the services, they may still use some of the denomination’s labels.
If you understand the ministry of a prophet, you should know that true prophets make mistakes too!! It's very easy for a person to allow or mistake their own spirit for that of the Holy Spirit! Yes it shouldn't happen, but it does! So each of us have to discern what is according to sound doctrine in regards to what others say!
@@chatnboyUnknown Prophet is a humble one. Prophesy is for today. Acts 2:17-18 quoting Joel [17] “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; [18] even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. Let’s not harden our hearts but do the diligence of testing the spirit, using discernment… which takes effort. Writing off all current prophecy is being a lazy Christian. Please don’t take up offense, I say this with self conviction because I was a cessationist until I was given a vision that took more than 10 years to pass. So yeah, I know, don’t trust experience for doctrine but after that i searched the scriptures and it is clear that it is for today. Be blessed in Christ brother
Real prophets do not use their gift to write books and become wealthy and well-known. They often suffered because the news they brought wasn’t “success and money is coming our way”.
And by reading the books, we will have the answers we need to live that we won’t have otherwise. That basically is a form of Gnosticism… secret knowledge to following God. It is all very concerning.
Thank you for being brave and sharing this. I left my church because the leaders had no accountability for what they said, did and believed. They were led by feelings and called it the spirit speaking to them. There was favoritism and silent judgement towards those not in agreement with the leadership "family". There were red flags, but didn't realize the toxic behavior was so ingrained. When I spoke out and asked questions, I was told I was judging my leaders and told to leave my position. I was heartbroken at first, but I'm happy to be free of that bondage now.
90 % have always been fake, so were they in Ezekiels time, in Daniels time. We have the holy spirit, we should know those who are truthful and those who arent.
Stopped dating a sister in Christ over this. She hung on every word from people like Joseph Z. I kept saying none of these people have had a single daily prophesy come to pass! Didn't matter to her though. I was the one with the problem. Interestingly enough, the term "decree and declare" was how she prayed almost every time. I once asked her about this kind of authority and why she didn't pray for God's will to be done, and it immediately became an uncomfortable discussion. Still pray for Jesus to open her eyes.
Good thing you saw this before you got married or somthing. I know christians are meant to be equally yolked to christians, but little is mentioned about how our specific beleifs need to match or align with eachothers too.
I’m so proud to see more Christians speaking out on this topic. It’s out of hand and it causes so my confusion when these so called prophets get prophecies wrong. It makes the church look foolish.
@@santosme2398 why would he say that then? And no I'm not defending him (I don't watch him much), I'm just confused as he has a massive following on YT
Only about their prophecy itself... If someone is right 100% of the time, they would be Jesus... Even the apostles had times that they spoke of things as though authoritative and you can test them and see that they are mostly correct but also had some self granting authority in them, we are not perfect and neither was anyone in the Bible who was not Jesus. Neither are the Bible scholars, neither are the Bible readers, studiers or even the translators... But, when God reveals something to you, it is 100%. I have had a few of these and the most recent one is the truth about what thou shalt not judge lest the be judged by the same measure... This is about you deeming someone not worth your time and effort to save, that they are a waste of time, or are too far gone, or because they didn't listen the first, second, or third time so trying to help them find salvation in Christ is pointless.... If you deem someone unworthy/ unsavable so you don't try and share Jesus with them, you are placing a final judgement that you could never stand up to.... This is what I have been shown and what I am supposed to share in this time. It's not meant to keep you from sharing Jesus, it's not supposed to keep you from teaching/ ministering to people... It's supposed to make sure you do because if they can't be saved.... Neither can you. Fear placing this judgement... If you have, repent and fix it... Speak to people about salvation everywhere you go... To your neighbors, friends, family, and especially your enemies because you were God's enemy before you were saved by his sacrifice... Do you love God enough to preach in the presence of your enemy and withstand the physical consequences of doing so? This is something we need to look in ourselves for and fix it if it's broken...
I grew up in the Pentecostal church. Not one prophecy was correct, ever. I don’t think we need new info from God (some call it “new revelation”) because we have His word. And we have the Holy Spirit to guide us in all truth. Every modern day “prophet” sounds like a fortune cookie to me.
Remember, prophecy is not just speaking of future events. It is also about speaking God’s truth from Scripture as it applies to life situations. I wish this was talked about more in churches. ”But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.“ 1 Corinthians 14:3 NIV
I also grew up in a Pentecostal church. It has been a mixed bag... some were genuine and came true, but others were false. It seems that the older ones ( from the 70's and part of the 80's) were genuine, and the newer, more Charismatic ones, are false. I see it as a sign that we are in the Last Days.
I think there's also a difference between listening to a prophecy and actively seeking out prophecy and prophets. The latter feels to me like a Christianized version of going to a medium or fortune teller.
Yes!!! We seem to just want to attend special services to hear from the 'man of God', to give us the next step. I honestly understand: it's easier to hear someone immediately, than to pray and wait and trust God to guide and reveal; but easier is not what we Christians should be after...we should pursue God's will. We have to keep praying for strength to resist these devilish tricks. 🙏🏾
Thank you for speaking out. It bothers me to see so many people and even us Christian’s treating one political candidate like he’s a God. I pray for them, because there is only one God. His name is Jesus. It troubles my heart to see some of us so deceived. We put our hope and trust in the Lord not in man. Well on the positive side it keeps me praying. Be blessed my sister in Christ you and your family and keep on fighting the good fight of faith.
"Then the LORD said, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds" Jeremiah 14:14
THIS is the correct interpretation of the commandment against "using the Lord's name in vain". Claiming to speak on behalf (in the NAME of) - when God did not give a word to be spoken, and thus resulting in people not believing God!
You are so on point and articulate in your subject matter. I have found that God often speaks to people about a thing solely so they will pray over the situation. Just because God reveals a thing to you does not mean it is meant to be shared with anyone. Wisdom and discernment are gifts of God that need to be called upon in all things thru the Holy Spirit.
Thank you Melissa. I've just stumbled across a few people, here's a one. A man on another person's platform who was going into great detail about a dream he had concerning one presidential candidate. He spoke about many things in cluding one of them becoming born again. I watched a couple of minutes more, the person telling about the dream seemed to be leading people to vote for this candidate because he would become born again. I believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but I have seen them abused so much publicly for political reasons. So I turned it off grieved. I don't know if the brother had a dream or not. But I felt watching it that he was energetic, excited, (nothing wrong with that), but during the last 8-10 years, realizing how many Christians can be easily led perhaps because they don't know the Word. I'm 74, been a Christian for over 50 years and more than ever I feel that I must cleave to the Lord and be in the Word, and because there is so much deception out there. Thank you Melissa
Thank you for saying it. I was one of them. Was told since before college about my life. It did nearly cost me my faith. Just now getting back to the truth. Five years free from false prophesy.
THANK YOU!!! There are soooooooo many out there who have a ‘new prophecy/word from the lord’ every day! It kreeeeeps me out BIG TIME! I just can’t with any of them at all. It makes it impossible to discern the fruit of God from the imposters.
The true prophets of old tuned into God’s heart. They didn’t prophesy with glee. In fact, many of them wept because they prophesied from God’s heart. God is more concerned about turning back to him rather than who’s going to be president.
This statement just shows you don't understand the Bible. Yes, God is more concerning about ppl turning to Him, but it doesn't mean He doesn't involve Himself in human events. The Bible says He raises up kings and removes them according to His purposes, and there is no better example of this than the fact that He raised up the Roman Empire to allow His gospel to be preached throughout the known world.
Im not going to overly concern myself with who will be president because the Lord puts those people in that position for his own plan. I am just to deal with it. It is out of my control, it is out of all of our control...so better not to waste a whole lot of time on it.
But God stated 400 years before he was born that Cyrus would be a leader of an empire that didn’t even exist at the time. He absolutely prophecies about leaders if it suits him. God should not be put into a cage regarding what he can or cannot say.
Amen. As one who prays every day for the gift of prophecy, I agree with your pleas. "Do not treat prophecy with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to what is good." The four main ways to test are: 1) Does it agree with Scripture? 2) Does it agree with the Holy Spirit? 3) It it confirmed by circumstance? 4) Is it confirmed by spiritual people? Most prophecy does not predict the future. Most of what the prophets wrote/spoke in Scripture is more about God's will - pointing people to covenant, than predicting the future. A focus on predicting the future opens one up to spirits of divination.
A few humble questions, dear brother: why are you praying for the gift of prophecy? Why not use the gifts that the Lord God Holy Spirit has already given you? Are they not enough?
@@WindsofChange Testing prophets is by the fruit of their character, as Jesus explained in Matthew 7. Please explain how my outline of testing prophecy is in error.
@@jesusprofessor314 Do you have a bible...or even a google search? Yes? Good, look it up. I did and that is how I know that and it seems important that you see it for yourself since you are the one mistating what it says. The act of the search will help you remember. And testing the fruits is only one of the tests. And misstating what the bible says IS fruit of the character. It is what is flowing out of a person- and it is part of the test.
Many so-called prophets do something similar to the practice of "cold reading" many psychics or mediums do. Some may do this unknowingly, but many do this on purpose. In the church, this is a GREAT way to garner attention and esteem. There are even specific types of narcissists who feed off of this type of attention, and churches are easy hunting grounds FULL of naive people willing to fall for it. I know this is a lot, but I keep seeing more and more of this as well! I'm so glad to have found this video...please, be careful, y'all! 🙏💜
I have seen this happen in some churches, and a few times the pastor shut it down. The really concerning thing is that some of these False Prophets are using a Familiar Spirit!
I'm always extremely skeptical of anyone who calls themselves a prophet or apostle. In these days, i don't think you can be overly cautious. Deception is rampant.
Excellently stated Melissa! During these upcoming election pushes, I am generally silent because regardless of the results, my God inspired responsibilities aren't altered. Thank you for your courageous stance and may our magnificent creator continue to have mercy on us all. Your brother in Christ, Charles 😊
Melissa you are so on point. Prophecy, speaking in tongues, etc….are all beautiful. So for us to be reckless with these gifts is disheartening. Stuff like this stem from bitterness and envy and a lust for power. I pray that we repent and seek after the Lord genuinely knowing that judgement begins with house of God first will be held accountable. Regardless of what we want for this election, socially, educationally, in the church or in our lives, I pray we trust God to lead us. Truly lead us.
Thank you for this. My husband and I were talking about testing the spirits and having discernment earlier today. Your message was an affirmation and thank you for it.
@@allandalegibson1194THAT IS A PHENOMENAL POINT!!!! I was just thinking about this the other day, realizing that every prophet had a difficult message from the Lord to give. AMEN!!!
Amen! I would love to talk with you about this sometime. To teach what a real modern day prophet looks like in real life. It’s lonely, no one wants what God is saying today. No one wants a word that requires sacrifice or discipline. What happened to our road of sanctification? What happened to a quiet humble life pouring ourselves out for others? People need to be taught that it’s not about their prosperity or health, it’s about HIS KINGDOM, HIS SACRIFICE, HIS LOVE, HIS GLORY! The fakes must continued to be called out.
Ive had dreams from God and the messages have come true. I would never tell anyone but but my husband though! And rarely even him. Because I have equally been wrong about my perspective and Im not called or gifted with speaking. Sometimes I say uncomfortable truths, but not in a gifted way. I also think becoming self fulfilling is too great a temptation!
I have had stuff like that too, where I’m told things that come to pass. I usually don’t tell anyone though and am always shocked when it comes to pass. Mostly because I don’t feed into that part of myself. I feel it’s way too risky for me to voice and be wrong.
Right there at 0:52 - that alone confirms this video is worth watching with undivided attention. A truly trustworthy minister of the Word (or a prophet), in answer to the question "Should I trust what you say?" should respond with something to the effect of "You probably shouldn't" OR "Don't just take my word for it - check what the Word says". That much I learned from a very faithful minister. Thank you, Melissa! And God bless
Do you realize that a person can have a thousand accurate predictions a day and that will still never make them a prophet. Prophets are from the Bible and God says in Hebrews they are no more that they lived a long time ago. Your friend might have ESP or psychic but he's not a prophet
@@Somewhereoutthere-wf8zx go learn your Bible and don't be posting here if you don't know. And and I mean the Christian Bible not the satanic Bible. It says right there in Hebrews that prophets were from a long time ago...according to God. You go look up the verse that you're obviously not familiar with. I'm not going to make up for your lack of education and Christianity
Well said my sister, I'm glad you're speaking out! I won't mention any names ( and not trying to be political) but back in 2020 I came across several people on YT that claimed to be prophets, or have a prophetic anointing. I'm by no means a new Christian, however, I was new to several of these "prophets" that started popping up on my news feed - a few I heard mentioned by a person or a ministry. After the failed prophecies of Trump, nearly all of these individuals that I watched began using the "prophecy dart theory" that you described: "We see in part so we give a prophecy in part" - well the part you DO see, you should get right. There was one individual an older man here on youtube that I consistently watched his videos (his brother is a pastor,) after the fall out, instead of apologizing about his incorrect prophecy's, as well as those of his team (they had many supposed prophetic dreams) he doubled down and gave a myriad of excuses! "Well, the people didn't pray enough, well, we were too late, well, people didn't do enough, you didn't have enough faith- everything except "I was wrong". I call it the shell game - the game where you hide something under a shell or cup and keep moving it around and someone has to guess where it is. That whole debacle really opened my eyes as to how the "prophetic" is abused, and manipulated - as well as the damage it can do to the church and new Christians especially. After RE-reading stories in the word where there was prophecy, I saw that the Prophets got it right, down to the very last DETAIL! God knows what's going to happen, so why would he leave that out in his words for us? I am much more vigilant and extremely skeptical now - though I still believe God moves in this manner with the RIGHT person.
It reminds me of the parable Jesus mentioned of the sower in the field. When the Word of God or the seed enters our heart or soul, it can become distorted if our heart is not right. To keep this from happening, God tests us to turn our heart from sin towards him, to hide his word in the heart that we may not sin against him. The same is true of every spiritual gift, but especially prophecy. Prophecy is the rhema, the spoken word of God, but the heart of the prophet can distort or even reject the word of God, so that when the prophet speaks, they speak either of their own heart or they twist God’s word (often unknowingly, for the heart is deceitful) which leads to prophecies that don’t come true. I am new to the subject, but I do think that some prophecies truly from God don’t always have to happen. Some are warning prophecies where God says, if the church doesn’t repent, then this will happen or, if the church seeks me then that will happen. But this is not always clear. God said in Numbers 12:6 that if there’s a prophet among you I will reveal myself in visions and dreams. Joseph was a prophet who both had dreams and could interpret the dreams of others, Daniel too. Other prophets had visions. But He continues and says, Moses is different. Rather than using unclear language and symbolism I will speak clearly with him. Why? Would you tell a stranger what you intend to do, if you don’t know if they are with you or against you, or rather tell them only a little and with ambiguity, until you see through relationship that you can trust them. God is the same, and this is the mystery of the parable. Many in the church have sought the gifts rather than the Giver, the gifts of the Spirit (which will come to an end) rather than the fruits of the Spirit (which are everlasting). When our hearts draw closer to God it will become easier to hear him. The only problem is our heart is drawn closer to him through suffering.
Thank you for doing this,, 30 seconds in and I am grateful for a voice of knowledge to speak out.. I speak and I am not appreciated for it .. We need voices like yours to speak.
Prophecy is not defined just as telling of future events. This is a distortion of what the gift is: ”But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.“ 1 Corinthians 14:3 NIV
Melissa, I appreciate the reconciling spirit you present with. Not only on this topic but on others also. I am a continuist, more accurately an “increasionist”, smile. But your notes are dead solid accurate and something we must consider. If a minister is not accountable to peers, danger lies ahead. Prophets are not event predictors (anyone can predict, even Wall Street, smile). They have an intercessory responsibility to carry, 1 Sam 12:23. I sense you travailed much in prayer before the Lord for the Body in advance of this video. I always look forward to what you present, your humor, your devotion to the Bible and to Jesus’ mission and reconciliation. Keep it up.
Thank you for this prayed up message. Isaiah 8 said "Bind up the testimony and seal the law on the hearts of the disciples." and " to the law and the testimony if they do not speak according to the word ignore them" and then shortly after Isaiah mentioned that the people ignored this and continued to seek mutterers whisperers and soothsayers. I can honestly say i listened to your message and took these words to heart even for my meditations that go on in my head. Good exhortation for my own restraint and discernment. And prayed up delivery that i receive your caution as if it came from God Himself. Thats prophecy !
Fantastic video. Thank you for standing firm for God's Word and authentic, biblical Christianity. May God continue to send His messengers to shake His church. May He continue to cleanse His body of the contamination of 'profits', celebripastors, and churchianity and return us all to our 'first love' (Rev 2:4). I pray God's divine protection for you and your ministry.
Such truth!! You hit the nail RIGHT on the head! Thank you for sharing... God is not pleased with those in the Body of Christ who are wounding their siblings. We need accountability in the church!
Thank you! You said that in such a loving way and it needs to be said. I struggle with "ex-NAR" resentments and I could not have been as eloquent as you were.
One of the best videos I’ve watched on this troublesome topic. You expressed my heart for the past few years with almost anointed articulation. I appreciate it. Stay bold in the faith!
I've been a Christian for over 40 years. I have heard amazingly specific and accurate prophecies. Unfortunately in my years in the church it was all too infrequent. A person here mentioned we have the Word (Bible) and that's enough (paraphrased) but the Word itself says otherwise. Paul tells us that prophecy is a gift that we should all encourage. A word of encouragement however is not prophecy, I wish people would stop calling it that. Note; anytime a person says that God told them to say something that really was not of God blasphemes the Lord and is a false prophet.
Thanks for this Melissa. Your sincere heart for the Lord, and for His church and for the truth is so apparent and I was blessed by it. I will be sharing.
Spot on. I myself have had to call out people online who never seem to be right about anything but always have some "message" from God. I find it amazing that they think they are important enough to God that He would use them nearly hourly to deliver some revelation that never seems to ever manifest. I myself have delivered words from God but it is only when I am certain and, sorry, it really isn't that frequent.
Thank you for addressing this issue. Many of those who are prophesying call themself a prophet, with no evidence. Believers in Christ need to keep their mouths shut. Today everyone is a prophet, just ask them.
Wow that is how you reprove your fellow brothers and sisters in the body of Christ with love. We can all learn from this. Thank you sister ❤️. May the peace of YAH the GOD almighty be with you.
Read 1 Peter. Also, as soon as even one prophecy is wrong, this automatically disqualifies the so-called prophet. God CANNOT get it wrong. Great message!
Well said, dear sister... From a Pentecostal... It infuriates me how these so-called apostles and prophets twist, disrespect, and dishonor God and His Word...i have listened to you for a short while now and i truly appreciate the depth and thoughtfulness of your discourses. Many blessings, ma'am!
Thank you for taking time to share that. Your concerns are very valid and beautifully expressed. People should really question whether they are subconsciously seeking attention or if they genuinely have a message from God to share.
Thank you Melissa! Yes we are commanded to test everything! It doesn’t make our faith any less, I always compare everything to what scripture says. One thing I always have been super away now by reading the Old Testament is that God appoints kings and removes them, so in all these things that are happening, I praise Gid because He is in control and His will is being accomplished!
Thank you, Sister for this admonition. It seems that the political prophets have at least learnt their lessons th8s time. May the Lord help His Church.
Well said. There is also the tendency of Christians to conflate advice to the level of prophecy when it comes from a "Prophet".

Ever notice how no one writes any book to COUNTER Cults anymore? How long has it been since Walter Martin wrote "Kingdom of the Cults"? Here's what i think happened:
the Cults got wise. Nowadays, "everybody" calls themselves "Non-denominational" and now its all more vague/cloudy and therefore harder to criticize. BUT--
You don't know what yer getting!
A prophet by Biblical standards must be 100% correct all the time and that is something I don't think any of these modern day "prophets" can claim

Acts 2:17-18 quoting Joel
[17] “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
[18] even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
This is how they make 'on Earth how it is i Heaven' for themselves. And get me right, they are not looking forward to Heavens, why should they?
And by reading the books, we will have the answers we need to live that we won’t have otherwise. That basically is a form of Gnosticism… secret knowledge to following God. It is all very concerning.
@@aborowkayes, earth is never going to be like heaven!
Yep, 💯! Proverbs 23: 23!
“MONEY IS COMING TO ME NOW!!” Ever heard that one?!
Thank you sister!! These “prophets” need to be slow to speak. I have been gaslighted and flat out scolded for questioning all these prophets.
I read a great book called Truth or Territory. It addresses a lot of this.
I think I know who this Joseph Z is. I heard him one time and came away unimpressed. Actually I was disgusted.
You doged a bad situation. There is no peace around these people.
NAR. DOMINIONISM. pray for her, from afar.
People falling on the floor babbling nonsense also makes the church look utterly insane. Among many, many other things. 😂
A true prophet has to be 100% right 100% of the time
Jesus Christ was the only prophet correct 100% of the time.
Vlad Savchuk (I think I'm spelling it correctly) had a recent video saying the prophecy didn't have to be 100% correct 🤷🏼♀️. Is he correct or no?
@@AbstractMindsThinkAlikeall the prophets in the Bible got 100% correct. 😅
So well said. You did a fantastic job. Very gentle and packed with wisdom. Thank you.
Yep
Very true
Remember, prophecy is not just speaking of future events. It is also about speaking God’s truth from Scripture as it applies to life situations. I wish this was talked about more in churches.
”But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.“
1 Corinthians 14:3 NIV
I also grew up in a Pentecostal church. It has been a mixed bag... some were genuine and came true, but others were false. It seems that the older ones ( from the 70's and part of the 80's) were genuine, and the newer, more Charismatic ones, are false. I see it as a sign that we are in the Last Days.
Well the catechism is clear that there is no new revelation. That’s the problem with Protestantism. You can just make stuff up. There is no authority.
I have a few names for you: brave, courageous, intelligent, truthful, thoughtful, compassionate. There’s a bunch more but you get the idea. Thank you.
I think there's also a difference between listening to a prophecy and actively seeking out prophecy and prophets. The latter feels to me like a Christianized version of going to a medium or fortune teller.
Or an informed view of the headlines
The only prophesies are in the bible.
Right on!
Agreed! Many of those "prophets" do cold readings similar to psychics and mediums, IMHO. Very dangerous!
This subject makes my blood boil. Well done! So sick of the TH-cam prophecy dart slingers.
"Then the LORD said, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds" Jeremiah 14:14
Semper Fi bro
But there are also true prophets, are there not?
THIS is the correct interpretation of the commandment against "using the Lord's name in vain". Claiming to speak on behalf (in the NAME of) - when God did not give a word to be spoken, and thus resulting in people not believing God!
That's how I interpreted that commandment, not people saying "Oh, God!" when something happens.
There are multiple ways to take His name in vain, one of them being an utter of His name like a curse word.
Prophets and presidents come and go. But our King is eternal.
Thank you for saying it. I was one of them. Was told since before college about my life. It did nearly cost me my faith. Just now getting back to the truth. Five years free from false prophesy.
“Many say that they would like to meet a prophet. You may want to see one but not hear one, he’ll leave blisters on your soul.”
-Leonard Ravenhill.
THANK YOU!!! There are soooooooo many out there who have a ‘new prophecy/word from the lord’ every day! It kreeeeeps me out BIG TIME!
I just can’t with any of them at all. It makes it impossible to discern the fruit of God from the imposters.
Not impossible, the Holy Spirit will guide your understanding if you truly seek him.
The true prophets of old tuned into God’s heart. They didn’t prophesy with glee. In fact, many of them wept because they prophesied from God’s heart. God is more concerned about turning back to him rather than who’s going to be president.
🎯
@@jtfike That's why he gave us in the bible a test to see if it is genuinely from Him. It isnt from God because someone wants it to be.
9:32 The most important thing you said. Political bias is NOT PREDICTION.
A few humble questions, dear brother:
why are you praying for the gift of prophecy? Why not use the gifts that the Lord God Holy Spirit has already given you? Are they not enough?
That is not how the bible instructs a person to test prophecies and their bringers.
“God is With me”. I do not need a prophet or any people telling me what to do. 😊❤
One test I have for those who reprove...is the attitude of their heart. I can see that you LOVE those that you are speaking of. This is important.

AMEN!!!
Thank you for this! Exactly what we all need to understand and remember.
I know for a fact that is understanding that comes from experience
I 100% agree. The prophets of today that I’ve seen have been very suspicious to say the least.
Thank you Melissa for speaking up about this! It's so very important. Gods peace to you.
Beautifully said with a humble heart. Thank you.
In my 50 years in the Lord, I only met one person/prophet who was very specific about his prophecies that became reality in my wife and my life.
Do you realize that a person can have a thousand accurate predictions a day and that will still never make them a prophet. Prophets are from the Bible and God says in Hebrews they are no more that they lived a long time ago. Your friend might have ESP or psychic but he's not a prophet

I'm a charismatic and I agree with everything you've said!
God bless you!!! This was needed!!!
So well said ! Your love for the Body of Christ definitely comes through in this message
Prophecy is not defined just as telling of future events. This is a distortion of what the gift is:
”But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.“

Melissa,
I appreciate the reconciling spirit you present with.

One of the best videos I’ve watched on this troublesome topic. You expressed my heart for the past few years with almost anointed articulation. I appreciate it. Stay bold in the faith!
I agree whole heartedly with this ! I went to a church where we were encouraged to "practice prophesying". I had a prob with this from the get go.
"Prophet darts" - great term.
Excellent!! Job well done. You're a 100 percent accurate. The lord continue to bless and prosper your ministry!!
Thanks for this Melissa. Your sincere heart for the Lord, and for His church and for the truth is so apparent and I was blessed by it. I will be sharing.

Excellent presentation. Amen to questions, always.
Makes me run when somebody said God told me too tell you something I’m like why couldn’t God tell me that himself?
Spot on. I myself have had to call out people online who never seem to be right about anything but always have some "message" from God. I find it amazing that they think they are important enough to God that He would use them nearly hourly to deliver some revelation that never seems to ever manifest. I myself have delivered words from God but it is only when I am certain and, sorry, it really isn't that frequent.
to be biblical, they are as important to God as you are....right?
Thank you sister, discernment and testing the spirits are tools we have been given through Sola Scriptura. Blessings ❤

Thank you for addressing this issue. Many of those who are prophesying call themself a prophet, with no evidence. Believers in Christ need to keep their mouths shut. Today everyone is a prophet, just ask them.
