May I suggest it is not those how do not read the bible but instead those who fail to dwell in the secret place of the most high continually are the easiest to deceive. The Secret parable Mysteries of the bible are revealed in the Secret place of Prayerful Meditation Daily to All People of every Race and religion. God does not need a book to reveal the secrets of the universe but what He does need is a anointed Soul = mind to Hear God's thoughts that leads to Godly Character that manifests to the World the Loving Kindness and Faithfulness of the Creator.

@@NFTeve Dear one you are correct because the bible is only a manual that can add is helping a person understand how they are fearfully and wonderfully made but the substance is knowing your self and how you are formed and function on the inside. Very few church going Christians even know what the Greek word Christian means because they have been indoctrinated with Church religious insanity Christianity. In reality every human being is a little Jesus at physical birth and must be Christened with Divine Consciousness to become a mature Son or Daughter of the Most High Creator's. Even The Jesus of the Bible did not become Christ = Anointed until He was around 30 years of age. Meaning of Christian = Christ = Anointed and Tian= little literally means little or Child anointed one. The Bible is a spiritual book in physical form and it is no different than any man written Religious Holy book because they all contain the same mystery of the Human Body's Creation, Function and Purpose. Every Human being is there every own Kingdom, Temple, Priest. Prophet and most of all Sacrifice. Ever bible story is about you and your Scrip you are playing out as you grow into maturity day by day. True Scripture = Your-scrip written in your very own personal DNA at Birth which contains your personal Book of Life. Study Human anatomy, Histology, Biology and Hematology and know your self and then you will know God. May you Know and Grow daily in your personal life journey to Spiritual maturity and you do not need a bible to be Anointed with Christ Consciousness. Spell Anatomy and when breaking it down spells An - Atom-Me that relates to the bible story of Adam ans Eve which we all are. Inner Love, Peace and Blessing to you.

My grandma became a Christian at 12yo. She went to my church for 30 years. A church that had very solid theology. HOWEVER, they never targeted wrong beliefs or thought that anyone in our church could have had them.
When my grandma was dying, she was terrified. Because she believed that she hadn’t done “enough” for God. Her friends in that church also told her that her time wasn’t up yet because she “had more to do.” It came out around then that she watched Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen everyday. I also remember now that she had a copy of The Secret that no one ever pointed out as false to her. Even once she died, her friends attempted raising her because they didn’t think it possible. This situation really galvanized in me at 19 that this wasn’t the truth of the gospel. So in a morbid way, I’m grateful for having watched it happen.

I don't know anything about New Thought, but it sounds an awful lot like "Old Thought" (i.e., Gnosticism). A lot of the strange phrasing quoted in this video is typical of Gnostic writing. The author wants to make it sound difficult by using unnatural syntactical structures so that you think they're smarter than they really are.

My wife’s dad recently lost his wife to cancer and both were Assembly of God/Pentecostal. Their church had a heavy focus of pray it and claim it, prosperity, and a belief that if something bad happens you didn’t pray hard enough. Which has lead her dad, at 70+ to go through a bit of a crisis of faith.
Thankfully my wife and I have been going through a bit of a relearning phase of our faith.
It’s a delicate balance of trying to explain to him that, pain and suffering is a part of this life. Explaining that we worship at the feet of a God who died a horrific death of pain and suffering. That Paul’s life was a testimony to this, and even with his steadfast faith, lived a life of imprisonment and suffering: while at the same time, being devoted to Christ.
It’s a slow go, but these concepts of “become a Christian and life will be perfect” do more damage than good.

It is something we all need to be cautious of. I went to a cessationist Baptist church for years. Amazingly enough, I constantly heard I was sick because I was not right with God. Zero compassion and a lot of judgement. No offers for prayer. Turns out I did have some serious conditions that were killing me. Through prayer, pressing in to find the right doctors and making life changes all have helped me to get my life back. I did have a crisis of belief but I did finally come back to Him and building a new foundation with scripture.

I fell for it too then I learned that the people responsible for the video production were cut out of it just a few days after the video was released, so some people have the original with Esther and Jerry Hicks. I started seeing little animated videos on TH-cam quoting Esther so I bought a couple of their books and accidentally read them out of order, so I think I read the 2nd one first or maybe I ordered them that way. But I learned about “Abraham” and started feeling uncomfortable with that. Then I read the book about how the couple had gone to a medium, a show with a lady like Long Island Medium that told them of things no one could have known. So Esther and Jerry really wanted to learn more about it and scheduled a one on one session, and Jerry was not as in tune as Esther was, anyway, she learned how to Channel Abraham… or a collective of entities on the other side. So when Esther is quoting Abraham she is in a meditative state and these “spirits” are talking thru her. YIKES! The major problems with so-called Christians is that they do NOT read the Bible first themselves. They listen to others who have ulterior motives and who manipulate them into taking certain stances.
The Bible answers lots of questions about things that are happening but most people will reject those answers. Why? The answers don’t line up with what the televangelists charlatans say. Hence the deception.
It should not be strange. When the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of the end times, the FIRST thing Jesus talked about was deception.
*“Jesus answered them, Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error].”*
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭4‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
If that isn’t what is happening today, then nothing in the Bible is true.

No to both of those ideas because the Bible says we aren’t enough and your heart cannot be trusted. New Christians also need Christian friends. I came back to the Lord last year after many years away. Got rid of my "friends" because I could not get free from some things if I didn't. Started attending a church that is great except for one thing. I'm been in a Bible study group, volunteer at church activities, and on the prayer team. After almost a year I still have no Christian friends despite reaching out. I need more fellowship than an hour and a half on Sunday and an hour on Wednesday. Forget being discipled; I can't even get one of them to go to lunch, my treat! Someone told me church is not a social club. I get that, but shouldn't we be different? I got this treatment in "the world".

Melissa, I love how “annoyingly more vocal” you’ve been about this, because it has really informed my journey out from Pentecostal churches. I left some time ago, but couldn’t put words to why I felt I needed to leave in favor of far more biblically nutritious teaching. Now I’m starting to get it! 👍

Melissa you are doing a wonderful work for God’s church by explaining these teachings and teasing out the differences between new thought and new age and the cross over of the two with Christianity. My sister is mixed up in this mindset and your video explanations are helping me begin to dialog with her. So thank you. ❤ I do have a request. Are there any videos of yours in particular that you would suggest I send to her to watch? She’s open to it btw. If not, I would love for you to make a video that is specifically for friends and family caught up in New Thought and/or New Age. Kind of something to put a “pebble in their shoe” and get them rethinking some
    of their beliefs. ✝️

Melissa, I’m so grateful to have found your channel and that you are talking about this. It’s helped me recognize beliefs I had from the around 2005-2015. It’s also helping me see where things in my church need correction. I’d really appreciate some ideas on how best to go about helping people see these things in our church communities in an effort to get us back to biblical truth.

Oh how right you are! As you spoke I remembered when “the Secret” was popular, I was skeptical but I wrote in my notebook how scripture said similar concepts! During a really desperate time in my life, the answer was “Kenneth Copeland’s teachings”! I thank God I was saved while under a scripture teaching and preaching pastor, who taught seeking the Holy Spirits wisdom and studying the whole Bible! I grinch over these episodes, with lessons learned I am fearfully aware how easy it is to fall for the deceivers tricks! He always says : “it looks good, you can be like God “knowing good from evil”, and you can have it all! You have pointed out even more pitfalls I didn’t take seriously enough, thank you!

    • @DiodeMom

Knowing good from evil is from the tree of the knowledge of good & evil. We are to be living and learning in the tree of life- Holy Spirit. Our knowledge is a tiny micron compared to God’s. In short, our knowledge should only come from reading and discerning, through the Holy Spirit.

Nailed it, Melissa! Ignorance of scripture leads us to invent the God that we desire---
not the God who is. Even the great characters/writers of scripture asked, "Why, Lord?",
so it is not surprising that we do the same. However, they did not have the extensive written
record that we have, which thoroughly describes our God---what He will/will not do, what
He will/will not allow, what He said/did not say.

Mmmmmm... I must confess I read Eckhart Tolle A new earth. and it did actually help me, at the time I was suffering from severe mental illness(many yrs ago) I couldn't stop the voices in my head I had huge Anxiety was very shy & pain from my childhood, Total nightmare. I learnt how to meditate & keep my mind quiet. & I learnt not to let the past effect my future. I didn't know at the time it was new age. Now looking back I wouldn't have needed it because reading the bible has blown me away and has helped me in every area of my life. The bible has the answer for everything and I've not read it all yet. I'm a book worm & nothing has come close to reading the word of God with the Holy Spirit. Knowledge wisdom & understanding & seeking God's kingdom.. Every morning I put on the armor of God!!

Yes yes yes. I have been thinking on your ophra video. It’s so strange that like you, I became a Christian then got led from really getting to know my saviour by wrong doctrine--which I now know was no ones fault but mine because I never read His book. I went to church and listened to tidbits of the bible but even the churches ,and I attended a few in my search for something I just felt wasn’t right, never preached the whole Christ....just the fuzzy soft teddy bear Christ. But something deep in me( the Holy Spirit... and can I just say... Thankyou Lord for your spirit...) kept poking me that so much of all I heard around me that always sounded so uplifting andChristian just kept souring my insides. Then God just pushed me to the wall and I felt I just had to read the bible and I did... again and again. And wow! Then I started to have the scales fall away. But You gave me words I could use to describe the spiritual darkness that covers over most church’s and when I open Pinterest and read some cute uplifting but spiritually wrong sayings I smile and say “thankyou my dear”

I spent a long time thinking I was following Jesus when actually I was just following clever authors and self-help gurus. I recognized even then that there was something wrong with clinging to Mark Driscoll sermons and John Eldredge books, while being bored by and disinterested in scripture, but I persisted. Until my faith almost fell apart six years ago. Since then I've spent a lot of time in prayer for a deeper love and interest in scripture first and foremost, and he's been answering that prayer. It's shocking how far I was from God for so long; if I'd persisted with abandoning my faith when I almost did, I'd be one of those "I was a Christian for years!" atheists by this point.

I still have much to learn but after completing the “Bible in the Year” podcast I definitely noticed my discernment sharpened. Sometimes it was blazingly obvious, and other times it was a subtle “this doesn’t sound right.” The first time around I listened to the podcast during my morning commute. I plan to go through it again but with Bible and highlighter in hand.

I became a believer twi days before I turned 30 ... this was many years ago.
Inwas coming out of catholicism, and knew nothing else -- up until that time. I was a 'tolerant' Christian. I was reading my Bible, but I was listening more to man than God. Was it any wonder I would backslip?🙄🤦‍♀️
I was listening to Oprah at that time, watching the "Secret" and buying the book. I do thank God that He put a STOP to that nonsense.
I left God for a while, but when I came back, I asked Him to show me things I was blind to or did not know. Be careful what you ask for, goes the saying.😉
The LORD changed my life, and He began to expose the liars. He is still doing so. Praise God for giving you, Melissa, this ministry to help the body of Christ.❤
Btw, I had that book by Napoleon Hill. I'm so happy that the other sewage books (w/the Oprah & Secret stamp) all went to the city landfill.🙌😁

I warned people against those like Bill Johnson when he showed up in Alaska to speak in churches in my area.
Instead of being thanked by those within my circles, I was branded being judgmental and taking Bill out of context. My Facebook comment received much backlash with nearly 80 comments and half of them were from me responding to every person that commented either defended Bill or asked good questions desiring details regarding Bill.
I was hoping [at the very least] that the push back that I received were from those from Bethel Church, not from those who I considered friends and leaders. Sad.
On the other hand, I was able to persuade others and read or heard enough hard evidence from their own sources that this is problematic and decided to no longer go to a Bethel affiliated church or stop listening to their music, or have a more informed perspective relating to Bethel and others alike.
It is hard but is very much worth receiving the resistance like being filtered from going to Kris Vallotton's impartation training "Growing in the Prophetic" for the sake of those who needed to hear.

Great video. You were spot on when you pointed out the main reason people can be deceived is because they don't know the Bible. And I would like to add, when they don't have someone who knows the Bible walking along side them helping them grow in Christ and in discernment that comes from time spent in scripture and spiritual disciplines. Discipleship is crucial in our churches.

🙋‍♀️ I was caught up in this. I was raised in a legalistic church and ran from God. Because I was taught God is gonna get you for - .........( fill in the blank). When I turned 18 I walked away from church. As I got older, I got into 'Word of Faith' , 'prosperity ' gospel. But, prosperity gospel doesn't exist....Just the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I recently walked away from ALL of it. These preachers are masonic heretics. I repented to my daughters and grand children for indoctrination. I repented to Jesus.
I know I'm forgiven. It is SO FREEING to take God's Holy Word at face value and not twist it to my benefit. To name it and claim it garbage.
Thank you for putting out the Godly Gospel TRUTH!
