The love for Omega must run in the family. He's my 2nd cousin, and as an 18 year old just getting into watches, Omega is definitely the end goal. Love them to death.

Very good video, absolutely agree with you. Since I’ve been keeping my grandpa ‘s Omega constellation, dad’s Omega seamaster. For myself I’m a proud owner of Speedmaster, this wonderful timepiece I had been considered for having one for 25 years.
Loved to listen to him, seems like he is really passionate. That’s how a brand ambassador should be, not this people that were something different in private.

Great story from a nice guy with a fantastic collection and a story to match. Love the heirloom tales and outcomes. Just super, and a wonderful video. Im new to C&C vids, but think I'll be watching many more of them. Im dying to ask this guy if he's since been back to that same store he did as a kid and bought some watches.

That is my same philosophy - own a nice watch long enough that it becomes vintage. That way you've owned a nice watch for a long time, you have a nice vintage watch, and hopefully you have some great stories associated with each one.

I associate my watches with my adventures too. My Speedmaster and Tag Heuer have been around the world with me four times.

My first Swiss watch is a Omega Speedmaster Automatic as well. Mine came out the year I was born, 1995. Wearing it as I type this comment. Loved this video.
I am wearing the Omega 300 seamaster professional chronometer daily. Had it serviced last year for the first time since it was made in 1998. It just turned 20 years old this year!!!

I also have a 45.5mm PO 2500 with the orange numerals on a rubber strap. Now I want to buy another 42mm version with white numerals on a ss bracelet. Any ideas as to where I can buy a brand new one?

Very nice video thank you. I am wearing my father's IBM Quarter-Century Club Oyster DateJust, that he left me after his passing. Engraved on the back with his 25 year date. In those days they would actually let you upgrade if you wanted to pay a little extra, out of pocket, so it has a Jubilee bracelet and the upgraded bezel. probably the only thing he ever spent money on for himself. it resides in my never sell pile. I came to your video because I just bought my first Omega and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I started small, so I found a nice Dynamic Geneve automatic Day Date. late 60s vintage. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on that watch considering your expertise. I feel like a little kid waiting for my cereal box top decoder ring to arrive. anyone old enough will get that. thanks again.

most men's wrist watches were 28 to 32/33mm in those era before WW2, largely for land forces/army / trench watches etc. .... hence 34mm original Air king size in 1940s were meant and deemed to be BIG and LEGIBLE enough for PILOTS

I asked a dealer if they could verify authenticity of a Seamaster and he said they don't authenticate anymore because the counterfeits have gotten so good!

golforfishing they say that because you're average ad salesman knows nothing about watches or the history of the brand. Your better off with someone who deals in second hand watches. They won't offer any money for it if it's a fake.

To the original post: Any AD will have a watchmaker in the back who can authenticate the watch. It's a shame that a guy who worked the counter, and likely knew nothing about watches, was able to have such influence on you. Se la vie, I suppose.
I have inherited a 1954 hand wound 266 movement watch. 35mm size in solid gold and bracelet. Keeps perfect time.

I actually like My 34mm Rolex, I think it's the best size for a dress watch. I think the size of the watch does not mean quality, My Omega Chronometer is Huge compared to my Rolex but then again, it was designed to be a diver and have good visibility... To each his own.
Best size for you, would look like a ladies watch on my wrists.

the other hilarious thing about this guy is that when he was strapped for cash and had to sell a watch, he chose to keep the Rolex Submariner and sell the Planet Ocean that had so many memories for him. LOL! so embarrassing for Omega fans.
Jacob Palmer but he sold it to his friend, and still had like 6 other Omegas. And he bought it back...
Why not collect Rolex, AP or PP watches? Omegas are trash 🗑
