    My Dad , may he Rest In Peace had a 7th grade education , was a Korean War veteran and was a blue collar worker all his life. He owned a couple of Omega watches through out the years which I found curious since he had little if any wealth and guys like him didn’t wear Omega watches. Yet when he wore his Omega he looked like a million bucks. I remember on my wedding day a young lady who I went to school with as a child said to me your father looks like he is an Ambassador or something. I guess it was the Omega.

    I have alway's believed that it is not the brand or the value of a watch that make's a collection unique. It is the passion that one has of their collection that make's it unique.
    Very nice video.

    As a fellow watch collector, this man put into words what we all know. It's a journey we have all taken and probably like myself struggled with because it makes absolutely no sense, but at the end of the day the passion is in us to collect, acquire and enjoy them. Passion is probably best when it can''t be explained.

    GREAT watches !! I gave my 1990's Seamaster diver chronometer with a beautiful blue wave dial to my son when he started his first job out of college . He loves it and I love seeing it on his wrist . The watch is incredibly accurate usually only 15-20 seconds fast a MONTH !! I sent it to Omega for service approx every 7-8 years and it comes back looking new

    When I started looking into getting a vintage watch, I was drawn to Omega too. I just bought a Constellation from 1969 and I think it's beautiful. Common sense tells me that this is all I need, but we'll see.

    • @Archer335
      @Archer335 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those old Constellations are nice.
      I bought a nice 1960s Seamaster and sent it to Omega for a full service. Although it is not a chronometer, it now runs like one (about +3 to +4 seconds per day).
      It works with whatever I decide to wear, remains “under the radar,” and I never tire of it. I wear it every day. I’ll send it back for service after not too long (probably 5 to 8 years).
      I’ll probably never buy another luxury watch, unless this one were lost or stolen, in which case I would probably purchase another one exactly like it. I like being a one-watch guy. Just a personal preference.

    A wonderful video of a superb collection belonging to a truly dedicated enthusiast. The favourite watch in my collection is the 1968 9ct gold Omega Geneve my parents gave to me on my 21st birthday (49 years ago!) I still have the box and manuals, the original Omega strap buckle, and even the store receipt. The watch keeps perfect time, and is a much treasured possession. There are some watch collectors who make negative comments regarding Omega, but I still believe the company have always produced high quality time pieces.

    Great video! I have Omega in my collection. Omega is a "sensible persons" watch. They are very functional and robust. The engineering that goes into them is very sophisticated. Omega vintage watches from any era still look smart on the wrist. It is quite understandable why you focus on this brand for your collection. Best regards.

    The First watch i ever owned was the Omega Seamaster Professional 300 worn by Pierce Brosnan. I loved it and it really got me obsessed with watches. Dumb as I was I gave it away still regretting it. But since things turned out Well I am happy to own a 1969 geneve automatic, which really waked a Passion for vintage watches. I can See myself owning a few More in the next years.

    Simply superb video. I too am a collector of mechanical watches. I love to see the oscillation of the balance wheel , especially if the hairspring is blue in colour. I do have a few Omega watches and one of these has a bumper rotor. I also have an omega which has a gold sheet embossed on the case. I have a few omega watches with screw type balance wheel. It is very beautiful to look at. Yes, you are right. There is no justification
    in spending so much of money on these watches. But it is a passion. And passion has no logic. Thanks & Regards Swaminathan

    I need some help please! Pause at the exact second 1:15, and can someone tell me the watch that it is on bottom right of the screen with what appears to be a black leather band. I have that watch from my father I have done some research but I can't find it anywhere...

    Hey Friend , I'm looking for a 100mm vintage seamster automatic watch, does one exist and where would I start to look for one, I would put it on a nato strap no leather so I could use it for swimming and travel. Thanks for your help , great video.

    Excellent video, enjoyed it very much...! Have about 30 watches in my collection, different price points, different movements, different companies... Do I need 30 watches, no, but as you said Sam, it's a passion that you enjoy and I do too and I can't explain it either!
