Revisiting this wonderful clip after the sad news that Jeff has passed away. This perfectly showcases his talents - restrained, accurate and free to fly in the solo. We've just lost the best guitarist of his or perhaps any generation. Rest in Peace Jeff.
So beautiful performance. I keep coming back here every few months, and yesterday again. Wish wonderful persons like Jeff would stay with us, throughout my lifetime. Lost such an important piece of my world. Was just so good to know he is out there and doing his stuff. Will be so much missed.
How Imogen Heap can sound so smooth and soft and yet so deeply devastating. How Jeff Beck can sound so good, be so accurate and expressive in the notes he plays without trying to be the centre of the attention ? How so few people appreciate this kind of music and so many prefer the meaningless inauthentic crap ? Maybe the answer is in the music itself and the genius of this band. RIP to the greatest who asked nothing but to play his guitar and play the notes he felt as right
I feel sorry for the people that gave thumbs down to this. Oh how much beauty they're missing in life if they can't appreciate the mastery of these 4 musicians if only during the moment they played together on stage that night.
Jeff Beck was the greatest of the greats. He was light years ahead of all his contemporaries. His knowledge, technique, repertoire and innovation is unmatched.Tthank you JB for your enormous contribution. The world will miss you immensely.
I return to this every so often. It's just soooo good, on all levels. Imogen is such an amazing presence of originality, intelligence and elegance. The textures and colors Jeff puts into the comping is almost like an orchestra. But his solos are pure singing Grace and soul.
Same here, that special performance came to my mind right away this morning. There's soo much to notice of what Jeff was doing and how he was complementing other musicians. Also his Ronnie Barker joke at the beginning was great regarding the microphone stand. A very sad day as I never had a chance to see him live. :(
Imogene is a waste of time. Saw her in Dallas , and I wished I’d stayed at home. She was fiddling and farting around most of the night , and apologizing for every little tap on the synths/ keys. Truly awful.

Heartbreaking his passing. I started listening to Jeff play Blow by Blow. Brilliance. Then he came out with Guitar Shop. I was very fortunate to see him play at the Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis. He was playing with Stevie Ray Vaughn. That was Stevie’s last album. They played their own sets and then did a couple songs together. It was EPIC! 6 months later Stevie Ray Vaughn passed away. I love the musicians he has playing with him at this show. Very talented people all of them. RIP Jeff Beck. You made the most beautiful music and made it look effortless.
I have been thinking how I could best pay homage to the greatest, improvisational guitarists of his genre and this post beat me too it. Jeff’s anthology was built along side of rock’s greatest guitarists. What I came to appreciate was how Jeff progressed into “less is more” as he aged. None of his contemporaries adjusted their guitar subtleties as did Jeff. At 69 years of age I am proud to say Jeff was the greatest rock guitarist of all time. My God I miss him already
I don't think I've ever heard anything quite like that. It's ethereal. Imogen's voice is beautiful and Beck, of course, is a master. RIP, Jeff. There'll never be another like you.
He's a real dude. I've been a guitarist my whole life but.. I have been a hotshot at times. Jeff is a beautifully humble person. I could only wish to be half as much..
Beck's tour with these guys is unlikely to be bettered. What I find most impressive about this particular performance is that whilst we all know what an insanely original player Beck is, the subtle way he accompanies the singer shows the full depth of his musical perceptiveness. Ridiculously good - the entire band.
What a sublime collab, sideman and front man marriage, such a brilliant accompanist... so delicate and supportive....he listens so well... loved him my whole life...changed the way I heard music forever and the way I play...Heaven has a new angel.... too sad
One of his best examples of unselfish professionalism, Jeff Beck's career is all about the support of performing musicians, attributing the talents of the headliner with pure class. No other guitar talent will surpass him, in my lifetime for certain.
What a wonderful musical trip. No band member is a "background" player, they all form a rock solid piece altogether. That said, Jeff is a master by itself, Jesus, those solos, humble and yet so talkative!
It does not get any better than that , Beck showing you he can play anything and do it right , and the best band you will ever hear , with Imogen heap singing her best song in my opinion, Tal Wilkenfeld looking like a porcelain doll and playing the best Bass you will ever hear and Vinnie Colaiuta one of the best drummers on the planet
