  • Need a charging cable for use when charging outside your home? You've probably seen plenty of EVs charging at shopping centres, carparks, wineries etc. I'd recommend one of these for a good length and charge capacity: Type 2 32A 5m cable amzn.to/3EQgOU3
    This is a short video explaining the basic controls, interface and setup of our new MG4 Excite 51 delivered in to Melbourne, Australia! Hopefully useful if you're eagerly awaiting delivery of your MG4, or have recently taken ownership and can't be bothered reading the instructions :)
    Most of the video will also be applicable for the Essence models - your car will have a slightly different interface with a few extra features - lucky you!
    In either case, visit mg4.com.au and join Australia's largest owner's group of the MG4. Or want a Tesla instead? Go to model3.com.au and use my referral code for $750 off your order!
    Please like, comment and subscribe. In particular let me know if there's any specific videos you would find helpful on the MG4.

    Great video, I’d recommend turning off intelligent battery heating except for when you’re planning to fast charge and want to get the highest rate possible. Leaving it on uses heaps of energy and kills your efficiency according to most users on the MG EV forums

    Really interested in speaker upgrade for the 51 excite and how might we add more lighting to the rear. Great video

    • @bozugarage
      @bozugarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Easiest for rear lighting is sticking a USB powered LED into the rear socket. Some people are velcroing rechargable LEDs to the roof lining or side pillars. If this was my car I'd be doing a full audio system with amps, EQs, subwoofers and the lot, but my wife only listens to old boomer talkback radio :(

    The button inside the door that unlocks the door only unlocks the front doors until you open the drivers door and then the back doors unlock Unlike the zs ev mk1

    • @bozugarage
      @bozugarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      OK, I actually haven't pushed that button yet :) Seems like a good safety precaution in case there are kids in the back who will jump out without looking. There is also the option in settings to unlock just the drivers door from the key, or all doors - another safety option there.

    • @bozugarage
      @bozugarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      erm... pushing the favourite button, you can then adjust (from the right joystick) the temperature and fan speed, but technically not recirculation that I can tell. Think you might have to do that via the touchscreen still.

    Nice video, been thinking of buying one of these. I know you have only had it for a few days but I wonder how well these will hold up. Currently driving a trusty Lancer that's about 10 years old with no issues. Would be interested if you did a 6 month review and what you liked and didn't like etc.

    • @bozugarage
      @bozugarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great idea, I'll do a one, three and six month video. Already noticed a tiny annoyance, the gear selector thingy does reduce leg room a tiny bit, but really it's a minor issue. Seats are really comfortable and I haven't had fabric seats in a while, but great in hot weather as they're cooler.

    Nice video, what kind of car trade in do they offer

    • @bozugarage
      @bozugarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No idea as we're going to sell the old car privately - however expect generally terrible trade offers, since car dealers generally toss trade-ins to wholesalers or auctions. If you have a decent car to trade in, may be worth selling privately or getting offers from car brokers to purchase. We're selling a Hyundai i30 and should be able to sell it reasonably easily for decent money, they hold their value surprisingly well and are a very reliable car.

    • @bozugarage
      @bozugarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thanks for the comment! I prefer the LFP battery in the 51 (that's why also have Model 3 RWD). Range anxiety not an issue for our needs as it's a city car only, we'll take the Tesla (and it's supercharger network) when we need to do longer drives.

    • @jonathankapoor2389
      @jonathankapoor2389 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Same reason for me. We live in NZ and we do 5 long range trips per year, and with Tesla opening their super charger network to non-Tesla plus other charging brands we are confident those trips will work.
      We stop every 1.5 hours with our child, so the highway range with good network is sufficient.

    Couple of things i have found and need some answers to... if you dont put on your seat belt you cannot put into drive ir reverse. From main home screen, swipe down for more settings. If TPM alerts it throws up a warning on driver screen, announces it over audio and sends a message to you MG smart app. There is no TPM reset... increase trye pressure and drive for a while and it should reset if the issue isnt a TPM fault. Can anyone let me know how you can change the threshold fir the speed sign warning? Literally 1km over the posted speed and the damn warning flashes. Would be nice to have speed sign recogntion warning enabled but allow say a 5km margin..

      Is your car an Australian model? I was moving the car around for video angles without putting on a seatbelt and was able to drive it. Think the driver door must be shut though. Yes on home screen you can swipe down, or left/right for additional ways to access the settings/apps - forgot to add that in the video. Don't know about the tyre pressure reset, haven't had any pressure loss - yet

      Don't know what country you're in, but all Australian models have a rear Wiper. I think original MG4s delivered in Europe had no rear Wiper, current MG4s all do. Check with your dealer.

    • @MUFC1933
      @MUFC1933 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because all the first phase cars don’t have rear wiper or three rear headrests. They updated most manuals to say there was a rear wiper etc as more and more were made with the rear wiper. All new models include rear wiper etc. 🇬🇧

    "Lock the car and walk away and you are done." Means you have turned the car strangely means you have turned the car off. If you put it in the garaged unlocked the Android Auto will keep looking for you and can reach quite some distance.
