@@exunitatevires9475 Gotta keep oil in it and coolant and change both once and awhile. The oil passages are small and a few missed changes means a few surfaces are getting metal to metal contact. I drained all the fluids out of one with blown headgasket and it still ran with only a tiny bit of oil. And started back up. Popped the rubber freeze plug out the back of head, but still ran. A well maintained will never die. That's what he should've said. You can't help what neglect was had before you got it.
Like your videos. A tip that will save you a lot of hassle with cleaning. Simple Green. I had a car that was that dirty all over and the wheels. Put a little Simple Green in a bucket of hot water with your car wash of your choice. Takes that grime right off. Used to work at a gas station, we would use Simple Green highly diluted and it would eat grease off the gas pumps.
Lincoln Town Car indeed. good choice! Glad to see you found one. Fix that rear suspension soon. I heard about those Lincoln air suspensions... It needs some work, and will be just fine. I like the digital gauges. I am glad you got it cleaned inside and out. I look forward to the videos on this one.
The worst thing in the world is to see these beautiful cars fall into the hands of people who don't understand how special they are! The previous owner is a complete moron for neglecting this car. I would never sell mine to anyone who doesn't love these cars like i do.
Love Town Cars, I’ve owned four, a 1992, 1999, 2004 and a 2008. The 2004 was my favorite, I drove it for over 5 years it was an awesome car, it was the Ultimate trim level they only used that name in 2004, it was a cranberry color. I was really lucky I guess with mine because I didn’t have any issues with the air suspension on any of mine. I traded my 2008 in on a MKS three years ago, I really like my MKS the technology and options are light years ahead of the town car, but the ride is nothing like a town car ride. Damnit, now I’m going to have to find another one to buy. Have you ever tried using WD-40 to clean with, that will get all that gunk of the paint, just spray it on let it sit a minute and rub it off, you can use it on the leather and plastic also, you’ll just have to go back over it with leather cleaner to get the smell out. I think you might have a diamond in the ruff there I bet you get looking great again.
The suspension is not a big deal to fix. I'm not super mechanically savvy, but I installed a coil spring conversion kit myself in my driveway. Including shipping, the parts were $200
If you decide to fix the rear air suspension please replace it with the original airbags and Not coil springs. Many people say you won't be able to tell the difference however I've been a Lincoln owner for the past 15 years and indeed you will tell the difference and the ride quality it's worth spending the extra money to replace it with the original air suspension. Any potential buyer would appreciate that added ride comfort. Imo
I agree. I swapped a 99 Cartier to springs and I agree. I ended up having a car that my friend got that strips cars and he got one. So I got the airpump, air bags, lines etc. So I'm going back. Have a 07 that was dealer serviced to 105k. Then I got it from older man. 99 has all new suspension and steering. When you hop back and forth you can really tell the difference. 07 rides like a cloud and 99 rides like a cloud on springs. Not a huge change but enough to put 99 back to airbags. Alot of folks think bags are so expensive. Nope. I've owned a few and never had a bad compressor, lines etc. Always bags. When you get new bags, spray them down with a few coats of 303 protectant. I see so many ppl putting new parts under or where they will see rain, or snow and not put anything on them. Any kind of protectant, baby oil, mineral oil, vasoline etc. Mine are 8 years old and look new cause I kept rubber supple and hydrated. We use this method on log trailers and Kenworth with air bags. They see all kinds of abuse and last forever. You wouldn't sandblast metal then just leave it. Gotta protect the parts you buy and use. They have gotten so cheap with that stuff. A new exhaust will rust by time you get it. Same for tires. They will last a long time if you keep them hydrated and protected. And it costs less than $20 and a half hour at most.
Great video. Thanks. A Townie was on my bucket list. I finally found a 2006 Signature Custom, loaded with everything and the original window sticker. Bought it used from an elderly couple, 35 000 miles. Looked like it came out of the factory. I was so pleased. Everyone knows these things can run 500 000 mi. In NYC as airport rides with no problems. What a money pit! I am a very careful driver, but at 42 000 mi. on a trip, miles from anywhere , at 70mph, suddenly there was a Big Bang and the vehicle lost all power and I was barely able to get to a dealer for assistance to find that the valve rocker had broken. Mechanic said he had never seen one do that. Two days in a hotel and $850.00 repairs later off we went to be met with failed AC leak and recharge, mysterious no starts and then 10 minutes later it would be fine, and failing batteries, digital dash fading in and out, no air again, electrical gremlins constantly in spite of changing dealerships and mechanics. It was costing me a fortune in repairs and I did not feel safe or trust the vehicle. I did not want my wife driving it alone, and did not like to drive after dark. It just felt unreliable and was 1975 technology to me. After two expensive years and many repairs I traded that sled in on a three pedal Mustang GT convertible and all has been great. What a giant disappointment that vehicle was. Brace yourselves. I kept the Stang and purchased a 2016 Lincoln MKS. Now that is a car! I swear that ECOBEAST twin turbo motor is as fast as the Mustang. Guess I just got the bad one. That Townie is/was by far the worst car I have ever owned...and I have owned many, many vehicles.
You got a bad one. I've had many and never had any of those issues. Only walked 1 time in 8 years due to a starter hot selenoid wire broke and fell apart when I tried to jump of from PA salt. The best cars I ever owned.
Drive it and the suspension will work. I've had three Town Cars. Love them. I bought a REALLY clean 07 with 65k on it about six weeks ago. You got a deal!
Don't even mess around with the airbags in the rear swap over to coils that's what I have on my Lincoln don't even notice the difference rides like a dream
@@danieljohnson7171 great I'm glad it worked out for you I was just saying that's the route I went and I wasn't sorry for it. And I didn't cut everything off I left it so if I ever do get rid of my 96 the new owner wants to go back to air bags they can but no problem
if the pump and hard plastic lines are good just stick with the Firestone airbags, now in another 10 years the lines will be waaay too brittle and the arnott air pump will be ready to crap out.
That car is good for another 200,000 miles. Put coil springs in it and get rid of the air bags. Those cars just run and run. Sounds like it's gonna need shocks too.
Don’t go to poverty springs. Go air suspension. Very easy and cheap fix. It looks to be sitting pretty high in the rear. There’s a leveling arm in the rear that can be and looks to be adjusted. It could be stuck which may be the reason it’s touch and go. Regardless, the bags need to be replaced.
I have a 99 Town Car and did a coil spring conversion and it costs less than 120 bucks or something Edit: also can't say I'm not envious. Over here a clean 07 TC can go up to $6,000
They use to pull strong money like that here about two years ago but now nobody uses them for sedan work and if I uber or lyft somewhere and an old town car shows up automatically no tip and 4 stars at the most, its unfair to people running newer cars or late model lincs and caddis.
Worst thing you could do is change the air bags to springs. Good bye Lincoln ride. Besides, they are as cheap as $50.00 for a pair. Also, you may just need a solenoid that is attached to the top of the bag. $25.00 each.
Thanks for saying that. Just bought a 1990 signature w/112k And the dude gave me 2 springs and 4 rubber pads I guess. I'm like wtf am I going to do with that.
Same thing happened on my 04. Your air struts are leaking. If you want to keep the air suspension you can pick up a set on eBay for around $100. One hour job total to replace both sides. Or, go to coils.
I got a set of the air bags for my town car on eBay for around 60$ and they work perfectly. Also replaced my pump but I’m sure yours is fine. Both are easy jobs.
I have a 2006 since 2015 & almost paid off. I had to replace the rear air bag suspension last June. But these are great cars & rides great on the highway.
I've saw hundreds do bags and NOT PROTECT THE RUBBER WITH ANYTHING. Rubeer goes bad from no moisture. It's a tree. Cut it down it dies slowly. Keep it protected and air bags last year's and years with no rot. Ppl don't do it though. IDK why. If you get a body panel ppl clean and protect with paint, primer, wax, ceramic etc. Do same with bags and they last. Smear a coating of Vaseline on them every 3-6 and be fine
After you get the rest of the crud off, I'd do a good claybar cleaning, then polish and wax. It'll look great and the paint will be super smooth and slick!
I bought a 2005 last year for $1000 - I love how it drives and gets 21 mpg if you don't drive it like an idiot. I was looking for an L version (long wheelbase commercial version) and these are good for a long time if properly maintained. I looked at one with 840K on it and it drove really well.
Hello from St. Stephen, New Brunswick! My son has been watching you for a while and steered me in your direction. I am a used car dealer here in NB and have a TH-cam channel as well. Looking forward to seeing more of your channel!
Great deal! Hell i feel bad now I just paid $650 with fees for a 93 Nissan pickup from Copart with a bashed front end.Trucks aren't cheap. LOL We need an auction like that here.
My airbag suspension did exactly what yours did. I ended up having a pin hole in both airbags. They would air up enough to hold air for a few hours, but slowly leak out overnight. I replaced them with coils and the car ran fine. Don't forget to pull the fuse for the air pump or you'll get a check suspension light on the dash.
If you melt a bar of original dove soap in a bowl or water, then using a soft brush, rubninto those sears, it'll clean the leather up nicely. Then to preserve , and give the seats a nice shine, and a layer of protection, spray them down with unscented pledge furniture polish. To clean the grimy vinyl inside, use a firm brush, and purple power degreaser.
I just put new airbags on my towncar I bought for $300. The new airbags with the new o-rings were $58 on eBay! They are very simple to change. It is more work taking off the tires than changing the airbags, they just pop out after you remove one clip. MAKE SURE TO TURN OFF THE AIRBAGS SWITCH IN THE TRUNK BEFORE YOU JACK UP THE CAR! Good luck with it! Usually the old airbags will pump up, yours did not, so you may need a new compressor too! when you turn the key on you should hear the compressor running.
Again stop putting bags under autos without 303 or a good protectant. They will last forever if you do that 2 times a year. 303, mineral oil, etc. Don't spend time and money on bags and just install them. That's so stupid. Parts are so poorly protected now days. Anything rubber was alive at 1 point. We need hydration, so does rubber. Do this and you'll have bags, wipers and tires that will last so long you'll forget when you bought them. I promise. We do this with bags on log trailers, and semis. Those inflate many times a day and take alot of abuse. Last many many years with 303 a couple times a year.
Put the alloys on one side and the chrome wheels on the other. Had a neighbor that taught driver's ed. He had a '67 Galaxie, kept blackwalls on the right and whitewalls on the left so the whites wouldn't get messed up when his students parallel parked. You can only see one side of the car at a time.
I think every car with air or hydro suspension eventually has air strut failure, yeah ... not the end of the world, but something you end up spending some money on sooner or later. When you were walking toward the Lincoln at the auction lot, couldn’t help but notice all the old Honda Accords. For me, these would be the perfect cars to flip ... not just because they are hot sellers, but because I am completely not into them, so I would never be “falling in love” with them and be keeping 10 of them around, like I would with American and Euro cars.
Hey Mike you can get the air ride delete kit with all coil springs at suncoreindustries.com they are out of Florida the kits run 289.00 for all four springs and shocks.
All you need is purple power degreaser in a bottle diluted 50/50 with water, and you will cut right through the mold/dirt on the roof. You can also use it on the wheels too. It's also really effective as a APC for cleaning plastic's like cupholders and armrests and carpets/floor mats, with a Libman hand/nail brush and toothbrush. Of course, you have to wipe off the degreaser before it dries, but you will save yourself allot of time by using it in cases like this. I would use dish soap diluted with water to strip the dirt and oil off the leather too, it will cut right through all the filth.
@@D4x4BroncThere's no paint thinner or flammable solvent in purple power, I'm not sure where you heard that. I never had a problem with purple power on paint before, as long as you use it properly. Meaning dilute it, don't let it sit too long and dry, and wipe it off well with soap and water. Meguiars degreaser is way too caustic for use on paint imo, it's less forgiving than purple power.
Hey Al the whole shifter thing when it wouldn't go into drive has to do with the key. Sometimes on the older fords the ignition will get stuck between the run position and the position where it cranks the starter. So it doesn't spring back to run after u crank it.
Good buy again! I would mainly work on the rear and front bumper: The rear bumper could easily be fixed from the inside with metal brackets and the right compound material. I am a body guy who has little mechanical knowledge. My weakness: I hate detailing cars for hours! This is a tough one to be brought back to its shining glory! Checkout for the suspension fault, maybe change oil and make some basic maintenance like belts and plugs. Then make it a comfortable daily driver. This was the end of the landyacht aera: In spite of being a GM guy, I might like to ride this one as well.
I use Ajax/Comet for those fungus-stained outside cars. Just changed my 03 TC with 335,000 miles for a Grand Marquis. The engine...all of it, was running quietly. The TC is just too long for me but... all aspects of the Lincoln are a definite cut above my very nice Grand Marquis.
Well you know the pump is good so it is just a storage problem. I would guess it is a leaking hose or something simple like that. if it never pumped up, that would be big money.
@@gregbee8602 Why would you buy a used on? You already have a used one in the car. It has been my experience it is a very bad idea to buy used electrical items.
@@mexicanspec Because the parts on these cars last 500k. So it's not like other cars or newer ones. I've bought alot of used stuff for a 20 yr old car and it's fine. Test it if you can. If not go to pick n pull and grab a few of whatever it is. Then you'll always have a spare and if you want new you can get one. The crap we get a autozone is used too. They might check the components inside and clean it up but it's not new either.
As my dad got older, he took less care of his cars, interior was cluttered. Reminds me of his '06 Buick Lacrosse we had to junk [in 2016] , engine warped from overheating, wasn't doing maintenance. He had a collection of those red flowers in vent, sold by charities at stop lights. :-( He had dementia and had to quit driving, passed on.
The mismatched wheels probably means that the original owner probably bought the extra pair for snow tires and the car when it had a mismatched set of wheels on it was sold or traded without the extra wheels.
I drove my 03 towncar for 7 months thinking the air suspension was broken due to packing it full when I moved to SC. Turns out, it was just turned off :/ I was changing the oil yesterday and decided to tidy up a few other things with the car, and also took a look at the manual online. Found out the on/off switch in the trunk doesn't go to the CD player thing in the trunk, it goes to the air suspension. Turned it on, and it pumped back up right away. Driving difference is night and day, bumps stand no chance against it.
Lincoln aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh suspension. It's got plenty of signs of having been an old person's car, a few scrapes and scuffs and the front bumper damage, and it's clearly sat for some time so the suspension could just be a little lazy and could well have been frozen up with the low temperatures. A bit of exercise and it might well be fine, though I can't help thinking it might well be an easier sale if you delete the often troublesome air suspension and go for coils on the back as it's something the next owner doesn't need to worry about. Other than being rather mucky, which should be nothing that a thorough clean can't sort, it looks like a solid car, even the leather on the steering wheel is all intact and not worn out. I think some work with some metal strips and some plastic filler could bring the back bumper back to looking decent, unless there are any pieces missing, but the front might be beyond salvage. If you can find some black bumpers you could go for black below the side trim and have a two-tone Lincoln that would look pretty sharp...
I had an 03 that had the same prob with getting into gear. I had to play with the key while in the ignition and it went into gear. I considered it antitheft
Nice video! With the amount of wear and tear that is on that Lincoln, I seriously question if the mileage is accurate. I'd guess it was closer to 200k miles. Town Cars are awesome. GL with the car!
I would do some bug and tar remover for those stubborn spots on the paint, Turtle wax makes a cheap tire and wheel cleaner that works wonders on brake dust - just spray, let it dwell for a bit and scrub. That interior I would take a magic eraser to since its all embedded in there. Still a nice car tho!
I cannot tell you how easy it is to swap airbags out on the rear. I own 3 2003 Town Cars. It’s faster and easier to swap bags than coils. Suncore, Arnott, etc. any will do. Just buy a couple of bags, replace the o rings on solenoids, use grease on rings and reinstall. Takes me 15 min a side. No shock removal. It’s the same from 2003-2011. Keep an eye on passenger rear seat floor. Cowl fresh air duct like to leak water. Same with hood release grommet. Fills up driver rear. Guy on eBay sold me a new front painted cover of my color choice delivered to my door for less than $200. So cheap. Since you’re in New England make sure steering shaft recall has been done. They bind up like your navigator. You scored with that car. You saw the value under the filth. Congrats.
Big Al's Bike & Auto passenger side. Remove cowl screen. 2 plastic Phillips screws. Life up and off. Remove crap caught in drain with rubber flap. Remove the 11mm nuts and 7mm fasteners holding the lower cowl down. Snake it up and out. You’ll have to lift driver side cowl up a bit. Run a bead of silicone between fresh air intake duct plastic lip meets metal cowling. Let try. Run a similar bead where you see the old foam gasket on the backside of lower cowling. I usually trace with sharpie if in question. Then remove old foam and lay a bead of silicone. Then set and install on car.
Big Al's Bike and Auto : My 2011 Crown Victoria needs a bath and a wax job. It has around 120,000 miles on it and it will still haul ass. You got a steal. Take care of your car and you could get over 600,000 miles out of it. Change the oil regularly. You have a beautiful car in spite of its few imperfections. Nothing wrong with it that can't be fixed.
If you are looking for a cheap spring conversation kit there’s a couple of town cars with the spring kit at the pick and pull and junkyards in Rhode Island.
nice i have 2006 looks real close the alloy wheels you can spend all day cleaning get some awesome cleaner and brush and cloth. the paint may clean up more with some kit was and a lot of rubbing
Awesome video I just my cousin 03 town car ran into the same dirt problems but car bus pretty decent had to replace on of the ignition coil now I think the cat converter is bad from him riding with the bad ignition coil
My G'ma had a 06 that air ride issue. Turns out it was a wire in trunk area. It was fubvimg on the body and it would ground out kicking the pump relay. Too longer to diagnose than fix. Was $100+ in labor and like $5 I'm parts aka a wire splice and tape. Never happened again to the air ride.
Needs battery power to keep bags up when car is off slow leak will cause it you can probably hear the suspension airing up when car is off keep a good battery in it my 92 did this for two years when it goes then switch it to coils
Crown Victoria and Town car are like a symbol, it's a shame they stopped making them. I always wanted to get my hands on one but owning one in Europe is like piercing a hole in your wallet.
Yeah it’s been sitting for a while for sure that’s why it bottomed out. Have the airbags checked for dry rot and do that detail and you should be fine.
I had never heard of copart until I fount your channel living here in Kentucky was talking to a guy at a garage today while getting some work done to our van told me he bought a car from copart so there must be one around somewhere he bought it four or five years ago with some minor body damage got a 97 toyota camry four or five years ago from copart with the 3.0 v6 and it only at the time he bought it had 53,000 miles on it and today he said he just had 120,000 something on it. said he gave 1100 dollars for it.
Clean the engine up with a degreaser and a pressure washer, then put a spray trigger in a bottle of marvel mystery oil, and squirt down the engine bay and undercarriage in a mist of oil. It'll keep rust away too.
Sometimes it is easier to pull the seats out, and remove the carpet and pressure wash the carpet outside the vehicle to get it clean. Although doing that on a flip car is probably not worth it.
Don't worry about the airbags being completely bottomed out. I park my continental at night and ill come out in the morning and the rear tires will be rubbing the inner fender. pumps back up every time.
Ray Segura it not always bottomed out though. Once every 2 weeks or so she’ll be sagging. And I’ve noticed before that I’ll turn the car off and park it for the night, it’ll let all the air out right there. Do you still think there’s a leak?

No wonder you got a good deal on this car, the owner let this car go to shit. I bought an 04 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series in 2016 for $9,000 with 50,000 miles on it, with 4 previous owners, now makes me the 5th, I’d say it was a fair deal. Mine is the same color, called “Pueblo Gold”, my car is excellent to new look still, and was “WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND HARDLY DRIVEN”, and My ‘04 “NEVER” had a recall for anything. Yes, I agree these newer Lincoln Town Cars from ‘03 - ‘11 are a HELL OF A LOT BETTER than they used to be, and they still have the big, classic, look. I’ll keep mine for another few years and maybe look for another Signature model and a different color, who knows.
Free advice, don't tow a car with the rear wheels on the dolly. It'll have a dual swivel point and put you into the ditch once you hit about 45mph +. For a car like that to tow (not that one with the blown out rear suspension) drive it up on there, tie it down, put the steering wheel straight ahead and tie the steering wheel in place with the seat belt. Leave the car running in neutral, turn off traction control if it has it. It will set the ABS light but this is the safest way to tow these cars on a dolly without causing damage. If the car does not run you will need to pull the driveshaft out of it to prevent the trans from overheating (I had a buddy that had one catch on fire towing in neutral with the car off).
m ph I’ve towed a few with the rear wheels on the dolly and had no issues even on the highway. Just have to lock the steering wheel and keep it under 50
@@bigalsbikeandauto Hmm, last time I tried to tow like that I almost ate Shi** on the freeway. That was about 12 years ago and I have never tried it that way again.
I think the Ford Panther Platform vehicles are a good choice for a beginning driver. Same with the Chevy Caprice, Buick Roadmaster, and Cadillac Fleetwood.
I really like the the car I bought one it had 64.000 act miles on it , but I gave 5 thousand, you got a buy of a life time. I really enjoy how the Lincolns ride 😎
Frozen air lines or you just needed to restart the car. Many of my 90s F-series had gremlins that required me to restart. It may have helped a few times on my Cutlass Cieras too
Man that thing is NASTY , but those low miles are great ! You might try some "Grease Lightening" cleaner from Home Depot on the carpet and see if it releases some of that grime.
You must be living a good life! Dude just saw your video. I would have bought that every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Still think you’re a car mind reader or something of the like.
I heard these Lincoln have a switch in the trunk that either turn on or off the air suspension. Check it out and tell me what you find. I've seen it on the past Gen body's 100% a buddy bought one that was saggin bag and I popped the trunk found the switch and she raised normal. Maybe they turned it on for the auction and back off after because of the air system constantly running.
"Just swappin' it out to coils" LoL! boing....... BOING! (please don't ruin the TC, they don't make these anymore) The airbags are only $50 each and putting them in, easy as changing a tire. The front/back bumper "skins" are less than $125 w/primer online and the trim pieces about $35 each....

I love these cars but shipping them to UK cost a fortune
Don't even mess around with the airbags in the rear swap over to coils that's what I have on my Lincoln don't even notice the difference rides like a dream
Bill Streber I got new airbags and a compressor for under 100 at the pick and pull so I decided to keep the air bags on my towncar
@@danieljohnson7171 great I'm glad it worked out for you I was just saying that's the route I went and I wasn't sorry for it.
And I didn't cut everything off I left it so if I ever do get rid of my 96 the new owner wants to go back to air bags they can but no problem
and it'll never fail again!
Bill Streber that’s the right way to do it
if the pump and hard plastic lines are good just stick with the Firestone airbags, now in another 10 years the lines will be waaay too brittle and the arnott air pump will be ready to crap out.
Before you go to replace it, make sure to turn off the switch or compressor will try to overinflate.
I have a 99 Town Car and did a coil spring conversion and it costs less than 120 bucks or something
Edit: also can't say I'm not envious.
@@billyjack5957 wait you wont tip if they drive something older? petty
@@billyjack5957 wow your a piece of shit
Worst thing you could do is change the air bags to springs. Good bye Lincoln ride. Besides, they are as cheap as $50.00 for a pair. Also, you may just need a solenoid that is attached to the top of the bag. $25.00 each.
Thanks for saying that.
Just bought a 1990 signature w/112k
And the dude gave me 2 springs and 4 rubber pads I guess.
Nice buy! mineral spirits or "Goof Off" for tree sap. White vinegar for coffee stains. IMO forget "Spring conversion" save that TC air ride.
Another great buy! Needed a ton of elbow grease, but cleaned up great. It's a shame someone would leave an expensive car like that go to hell.
L, VERSION IS HARD TO FIND
WE HAVE ONE, COST 1000, NEEDED A LOT OF WORK, BUT WORTH IT😊😀😀

Get a magic eraser, that vinyl and leather has a lot of grime in it, with that eraser you can get it off very easily!
Love this model of TownCar :)
I second the magic eraser. They are amazing! You'll probably need more than 1.
Hello from St. Stephen, New Brunswick! My son has been watching you for a while and steered me in your direction. I am a used car dealer here in NB and have a TH-cam channel as well. Looking forward to seeing more of your channel!
Definitely getting a lot of car for the money!
Great deal! Hell i feel bad now I just paid $650 with fees for a 93 Nissan pickup from Copart with a bashed front end.Trucks aren't cheap. LOL We need an auction like that here.
Radio Rescue copart has been getting ridiculous...cars are going for way too much because foreign countries are exporting them!
I want to do that to mine but at the same time i know the ride is confortable but not the same....been 2 towncar in the family
Buy the firestone brand airbags, they are oem for ford and will last a decade or more. the bladders crack over time. It's literally a 45 minute job.
CONTINENTAL AIR BAGS WILL LAST THE LONGEST. SILICON RUBBER!! !
I keep air bags on my 96. The bags were about 100 each and easy to replace I did it myself.
Nice buy! Those towncar's ride like a dream.
I don’t know how people can drive a car that grungy!
Purple power has paint thinner on it and will damage the clear coat. Suggest meguiars degreaser or apc with a soft brush
Gotta love those Lincoln's. O-ring probably the culprit on air suspension. Home run!

@@B0xlife1 yeah
Well you know the pump is good so it is just a storage problem. I would guess it is a leaking hose or something simple like that. if it never pumped up, that would be big money.
Pump 50 bucks used
@@gregbee8602 Why would you buy a used on?
Love all Town Cars, with the exception of those fugly '98-'02s. In '03, they made them look much better, and handle better, too, w/ the new frame.
Excellent Purchase! Very nice 👍😀
I had the same issue with my 2004. The air bags get dry rot and there's a cheaper replacement spring kit to replace the bags...
Great find my man,I'm looking for an EXECUTIVE L,nothing beats the riding COMFORT of a TOWN CAR....
Me too and I don't know how much it costs for shipping to UK
There should be a level lever on the rear end that might be a little sticky that moved when the deck truck would have loaded up.
My buddy just converted over to coils on his 2006 and doesnt notice any difference in the ride.Nice buy Al.Makes a good cruiser for you
had my 94 lincoln converted a few yrs ago still rides nice
There is a change. It's cheap to fix the bags. I got 1 with and wo big difference.
Tiny bit of Soft Scrub and a sponge for the interior.
Nice video! With the amount of wear and tear that is on that Lincoln, I seriously question if the mileage is accurate. I'd guess it was closer to 200k miles. Town Cars are awesome. GL with the car!
Max Zee title and Carfax show the miles are accurate
nice car man Make sure you check the cabin air filter too.
Ian's Tech I did use bug and tar remover, need something stronger for the remaining tough spots
Conversion spring kit is 200$ it takes 2 hours to put in and unplug air compressor in trunk.
Congrats.
Nick Myers where do I find the cowl fresh air duct? The rear passenger floor was wet
Nick Myers oh right, that fresh air duct, that’s the first clean I cleaned on the car. It was packed full of leaves and acorns
Big Al's Bike and Auto : My 2011 Crown Victoria needs a bath and a wax job. It has around 120,000 miles on it and it will still haul ass. You got a steal. All u need is a bottle of awesome and it'll get through remaining dirt out of the interior

That means you have a leak replace the o rings one big one in the air spring and two on steam of the actuator
Ray Segura it not always bottomed out though. Once every 2 weeks or so she’ll be sagging. And I’ve noticed before that I’ll turn the car off and park it for the night, it’ll let all the air out right there. Do you still think there’s a leak?

Yes, I agree these newer Lincoln Town Cars from ‘03 - ‘11 are a HELL OF A LOT BETTER than they used to be, and they still have the big, classic, look. I’ll keep mine for another few years and maybe look for another Signature model and a different color, who knows.
Coil spings and shocks with install should be about 300 bucks same ride if not better....had a 07 ultimate

Frozen air lines or you just needed to restart the car. Many of my 90s F-series had gremlins that required me to restart. It may have helped a few times on my Cutlass Cieras too
coils change is cheaper than keeping air suspension but besides that what a beautiful car...
Man that thing is NASTY , but those low miles are great ! You might try some "Grease Lightening" cleaner from Home Depot on the carpet and see if it releases some of that grime.

I've seen it on the past Gen body's 100% a buddy bought one that was saggin bag and I popped the trunk found the switch and she raised normal. Maybe they turned it on for the auction and back off after because of the air system constantly running.
it would say something like auto leveling disabled in the dash if the switch is off
"Just swappin' it out to coils" LoL! boing....... BOING! (please don't ruin the TC, they don't make these anymore) The airbags are only $50 each and putting them in, easy as changing a tire. The front/back bumper "skins" are less than $125 w/primer online and the trim pieces about $35 each....
You can use hand sanitizer to get the sap off.
Just save yourself headaches and replace the suspension with Springs and Air Struts. Still have Load leveling but better Reliability.
