A interesting correction. The Ancient Darkness picked Ventus because he was Chosen in the Book of Prophecies. They were there when The Master of Masters wrote the Book, and Ventus was Chosen in it.
A funny implication. If you read between the lines, it is implied Ventus wanted the Power of Friendship. But The Darkness doesn't understand positive , Light emotions like Friendship. They do understand Power, though. And as They say, "Power is Power". The Ancient parasited on this Pure Light because Ventus didn't understand the way Darkness thinks.

The one that slept in Ventus in Castle Oblivion since BBS. And That Darkness Sora Blasts Sora in the Face, and becomes the Dark Inferno. (which kind of look like Ephermera) This suggests The Ancient Darkness may have cross Hearts again to Sora. Thus, this is a repeat of Ventus being a Trojan Horse for the Ancient Darkness, but with Sora. The Theory goes, Sora brought the Ancient Darkness to Unreality, the place the Master of Masters, in the distant past, told Them about. Through this Heart connection with Ventus, they reach Sora repeatedly when he get close to the Darkness (Becoming a Heartless, falling into Dreams, "dying"in KH3), which is why Ventus is Chosen. Ventus is the bridge to Sora.
here is a question. what is the kingdom key? i mean we assume its the opposite of the kingdom key D and came from the destiny isalnd along with sora. but is that all? i mean the x blade is made of 2 kingdom keys and not 1 of darkness and 1 of light. that seems like a clue. perhaps the kingdom key is what we think but was made that way to for another purpose too. i mean if the master of masters apparently made most keyblades who is to say sora's kingdom key is not one the master made for a reason
The Kingdom Key was placed in Riku's Heart/Light, and Riku Unconsciously gave it to Sora. The implication is that Key is part of the Bloodline of Ephermera, and therefore, I theorize, yes, The Master of Master literally set it up.
