    Thanks for sharing!! Must try!!
Just a FYI... according to "this old house" landscaper you can drill a hole on a downward angle with a bigger drill bit where the water puddles in the tree allowing the water to drain out with no damage to the tree. It will actually help from rot.... and mosquitos!!

Oh boy, where to start. 1).Your premise of treating mosquito landing / hiding areas is sound. Good job. 2). In addition to spraying, I'd be looking at using some larvaciding treatments also. 3). The additive you used is Bifenthrin (BI-FEN-THRIN) ... not pronounced Bif..in but Bi (long I) fen. 4). Additionally, devices such as the Mosquito Magnet (especially with the Octenol addition) work well. Utilize wind currents to aid in placement... mosquitoes are attracted to CO2 given off during exhalation. 5). Of course the insecticides used will also kill other non-target organisms so use care when applying. 6). There are beneficial mosquitoes that actually live in tree holes and are predatory on other mosquitoes. 7). Get a backpack mister / blower and save the hose dragging. They emit much smaller particle size to aid in penetration. 8). Your dust mask did not help much. Better get a cartridge respirator. Good on the eye protection though. 9). Buy your neighbors some of the blacklight type bug zappers. They attract mosquitoes! LOL

When I saw the length of your video, I thought "Oh gawd, is he going to tell us about his kids, how little Judy is doing in afternoon kindergarten, and how little 8yo Tommy is almost cured after his second attempt at Alcoholics Anonymous?" Much to my surprise, I was wrong for the first time ever. This was a GREAT video and exceptionally informative. I plan on using your method, right down to the color of dye you used. Thank you for taking the time to make such a thorough video, on such an irritating problem! P.S. I hope little Tommy finally kicks his problem before the 4th grade starts.

They can breed in your rain spouts too. I am wanting to get ours covered. Hopefully that will make a difference. Im going to put our screenhouse up this year. Mosquitoes are terrible this year. Yikes! I want to be able to sit in my backyard & enjoy it instead of some pesky things flying around annoying the hell out of ya. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe & God bless

We have lived in our home about 20 miles north of downtown Atlanta for over 34 years and have had mosquitos , but never a problem with them. This year our next door neighbor employed a mosquito control company by the name of Mosquito Joe. Whereas before this we had an abundance of bugs and accordingly many birds, we now observe NO insects in the night lights. I mean zero insects. This year there have been NO bees, honey bee, bumble bee, wasp, NADA. Indiscriminate insecticide use has totally changed nature as it existed before Mosquito Joe. The bird population has moved on due to lack of food. I agree that mosquitos are a problem in less developed countries, but mosquito control has ruined our natural environment.

You might consider putting a splitter on that faucet and then running PVC Underground, bringing it up by your fence. A pressure washer with a chemical injector would work wonders as well.

I've been a painter for years and we use airless equipment am I clean out my sprayer it blows a cloud of the most finest itemized missed you could ever imagine that could easily travel 50 feet in all directions more with the Wind if need be. That was a very large airless sprayer though to sprayers at one time and on-demand one which is nice light turned on me squeeze trigger. Second option you might appreciate is a power washer with a wand just like a car wash Victor the car wash but with more power how you can blow a cloud of mist he shot in the air is just super fine mist I've got one is portable just plug a hose into it from a just hook your hose up to it changes average 40 PSI to over a hundred PSI you can power wash sidewalks low paying off your house hurt your hands and skin so use caution spraying compressed air wow you can literally create a fog you love it so much you'll do your neighbors area for free thanks Doc hopefully that helps you let me know you can rent them as well as much as you spray you might want to buy our rent, or thirty-five bucks approximately good respirators important

For running all that distance with hose you should use 3/4" hose. You won't get the pressure drop for the length. You might even consider running a 1" underground feed to the edge of your gate to get your source water closer to where your using it. Another point is the fire dept might want to replace their 1" rubber fire hoses. If you can buy them used you might get a deal, but there expensive for 1".

I was told by my county mosquito controller (Fl) to use “flea and tick” dog shampoo in the sprayer...it is supposed to kill our hideous “No-See-Ums” which have a worse bite then a mosquito. I have a berm behind my yard which is rooted in a sandy soil, where these monsters thrive. I tried it and think it may have actually helped.i think my birds and squirrels are happier too.

I love the idea with the die as I had some cutter doing a yard on a few occasions and was spraying the hell out of the area only to get semi ending point and realize not even a quarter of the bottle emptied we're before it took the entire bottle to cover the same amount of area! That is a great tip! Where can you find the dye additive?

Second that. Well... third that actually...
Work has had me wrapped up but I’m kicking it off this weekend. Mosquitogeddon that is. All he’s doing is good and very accurate info. I’d like to add that me putting 2-3 bird feeders out and keeping them refilled made a huge difference! Sounds crazy but I had so many song birds coming for miles they actually knocked a dent in them!
Bug zappers, propane fogger, and spraying twice a summer made it to where we could hang out at dusk outside and not see a mosquito. Very nice... oh by the way, I was always hearing about west Nile and it seemed so far away and the usual “it won’t happen to me”. Well it did back in 2011 and let me tell ya, you want no part of that business

Hi, I sprayed my yard and house all over with bifen.... I sprayed the patio light right outside my door..... so far so good with mosquitos and keeping bugs out, but tonight, 6 days after spraying (no rain for 48 hours after I sprayed) when I was out at night with patio light on, the flies were BAD right at the light... swarming the light.... I sprayed the light and surrounding part of the house by the light... this was the 1st time since I sprayed that I went outside with patio light on..... will the flies that kept hitting the light eventually die off from the residual of the bifen it (7.9%) or is bifen just not effective for flies that are attracted to the light?

I don't have a lot of hidden water around my place. But I have rain barrels and a gutter grow system ( food plants ) . So I know where 90 % of my standing water is. I can get rid of at least 50 + % buy using " Mosquito Bits " It is simple and quick to just sprinkle these little bits in any water I come across. BAM, In two days I don't see or feel any of them. Pretty cheap to if you shop and buy them in larger containers. I think is dissolves the larvae's exoskeleton. And adult mosquitoes don't live very long. PS It won't poison your pets either.
