    Can this kit be used with detroit speed welded subframe connectors on a 75 trans am..?

    1:30 2:00 Why would you sandwich the floor insulation in the bracket? Remove it! I hate hacks.

    What sub frame connectors can be used with this kit? I have a 1978 Trans Am

    I’d have had to seal those bolt holes up with some silicone and rust prevented the holes drilled. The cars too nice not too.

    So a kit that requires welding brackets onto the rear end and cutting holes in the car is considered “bolt on”?

      Right!!!!! That's what I'm saying haha might as well built pro-stock car

    We have run into one roadblock after another with the 4 link suspension and we’re just getting started the bushings did not want to go in like in this video they did not slip in we had to go buy a great big bolt and draw them together like that then the right side frame rail did not want to bolt to the rear shackle it was a half inch off now the center bulkhead completely does not want to line up with where the seatbelt holes are in the rear passenger seat unbelievable and we’re just getting started

      What was the final outcome, I'm interested in buying this kit but I've run into a couple of people like you that have had just nightmare stories. One guy even did a video

    nice system. I would certain consider this setup if I decide to upgrade my DSE mini tub leaf spring kit. Currently running 335 Kumhos out back.

      a 1971 Nova is also and F body same as the Camaro.. The thing is the frame and suspension is the same between Nova and Camaro but the Bodies are different and this 4 link moots to the body too inside the car under the seats

    Still looking for a video of someone doing a competition engineering rear frame rail installation on a second gen camaro for monster tire clearance and modified and upgraded suspension. Meaning ripping out the stock rear rails and cutting up the trunk to allow the new rails to lay properly.

    Can this kit work with relocated leaf springs? My front mounts are moved in. The car is mini tubbed with a narrowed 12 bolt. 56.25" axle flange to flange.

    Interesting system .. I don't see any Pan hard Bars .. My '79 Z-28" Camaro has Herb Adams VSE 1" rear sway bar now .. A lot stronger than the stock Z-28 Camaro sway bar.. Can I use the Sway bar that replaced my stock sway bar ? @ridchtv

    • @verz22
      @verz22 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With this design 4 link the upper bars set the axle center and also control the side to side movement the panhard would handle.

    How GM should have made this an option on the WS6 package for the Trans Am or Z28 or SS. Add a 9 inch rear, plus the works and you're golden.

    Do y’all still sell the spring mounting plate in front with big bolt hole that connects to the rail, I somehow messed up the threads on it, I need the front spring mount and the two bolts?

    This is awesome! How large of a rear tire does this system allow with stock wheel tubs?

    • @LiveInTheNow247
      @LiveInTheNow247 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Was thinking the same but you cant go wider tire without changing the stock tubs and narrowing the rear frame rails. So this suspension is only for suspension purposes and not fatter tire clearance.

    I'd rather have a multilink subframe
    before
    you restore the car
    Do you not work rust-proof when you do hole processing?

    Was there any compromise on optimal link length?

    • @DIY-ki8bd
      @DIY-ki8bd 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll get some less than optimal pinion angle change but I doubt the handling is affected much. I still don't get why they didn't use offset upper axle brackets like DSE. Which puts the pivot behind the axle.

    • @R0yL33
      @R0yL33 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIY-ki8bd I like that the uppers go into the back seat which buys a few more inches , but ya offset on the axle side too would be even better. That's the only thing I don't like about these kits ... the pinion angle at either end of suspension travel. The torque arm kits are better in this regard but heavier I think, more expensive and require a panhard.
