My favourite book(s) of the month were Red Rising and Golden Son. Pierce Brown has absolutely sucked me into this story, I’m currently 30% into Morning Star and I’m loving it! I’m normally a FanRo lover but the Graphic Audio versions of these books are just brilliant!
August was an unexpected pleasant reading month, i too found some gems a little more vintage though. However now that we enter the fall season i'm just so ready to read more amazing stories, ill be waiting for your september tbr to start the vibe👑
Been in a fanro specific slump since JULY(!). Haven’t even attempted to read one, but watching everyone live their best romantasy lives😂. Your August success is inspiring me. Hmmm which to try…..
So I went into August just after finishing Kingdom of Ash (my second time through) and thought I'd suffer a massive book hangover. I went into When the Moon Hatched 5 stars loved it immensely and then went into Book of Azrael also 5 stars!!! I'm 100ish pages out from end of book 2. I also have Dawn of Cursed Queen, Gild, Throne of Honor and Blood, and Lady of Darkness waiting for me! 👑 But if I had to pick I think When the Moon Hatched my favorite of the year!
I read “The plated prisoner” series this month and “Quicksilver” last month.. I didn’t quite enjoy quicksilver as much as everyone else but I really love the prisoner series (gold; not so much).
I liked quicksilver but didn’t love it 🥰 the author definitely has potential just some things i questioned, i found the middle slow it started great and the ends action
👑 The Women by Kristin Hannah was my favorite August book. It’s been a minute since I’ve read a fantasy book, but fall is almost here and I’m sure I’ll get back to them.
I read the first three books in the Plated Prisoner series, and they definitely take the top spot for August 😍 It's so refreshing to see someone talk about This Woven Kingdom!! 🫶🏽
Okay this is completely outh of the blue, but have you perhaps read Gothikana by Runyx. I'm reading Belladonna right now and I love it. I am new to fantasy and that gothic appeals to me and with Belladonna I trusted you so I am very curious about Gothikana👑
With the veiled kingdom I wanted to know more about the fmcs back story and powers and it just went to spicy scenes and I thought noooo I wanted to know more about her lol maybe I just like higher fantasy books than romance 🤔 after this book I went into a slump then just watched tv now I’m on mistborn one and enjoying I need another tog!!!!! Nothing compares lol
My favorite read from August was Gild! And next week Glint comes out in my native language (Dutch) so I’m looking forward reading that one as well, especially after watching your video!☺️
The cover of Fear the Flames is so ugly. I don’t know who agreed to this one but damn, they changed it for the worse in my opinion. I still preordered a copy but I am not happy with the cover.
If you’re interested in reading *Rain of Shadows & Endings*- The Legacy Series, then you should read the Lady of Darkness series first! It’s the same world. I got a lot of spoilers for *Lady of Darkness* not knowing I should’ve read it first.
@@jackielowrey3032 yes that’s exactly what I have been saying all the time. More so because main characters from the Lady of Darkness Series appear in the second book Storm of Secrets and Sorrow and they do talk about the background story of the world and the war of the gods. So it doesn’t make sense to read the Legacy series if you haven’t read the Lady of Darkness series first.
@@irodekerI had no idea they were related so I try to tell people to read Lady of Darkness series first if I see they are interested in the Legacy series. And omg I’m obsessed with both. 😍
👑 you read a ton of books in August 🎉 my favorites where a touch of gold and madness and a storm of secrets and sorrow. I definitely going to pick up Quicksilver now.
The fifth book in the Plated Prisoner series was such a low point, I hope the author brings it back around for the finale. I'm currently reading the Fae Isles series (Court of Blood & Bindings, etc) and it's been good so far. I thought the prequel book was perfection, the first book was nearly perfect, and am on book 2.
Rachel! I adore your videos and I’m so happy you had a blast of a reading month. I have a duology to recommend since it’s my fave Romantasy…Radiance and Eidolon by Grace Draven! If u could read them it would make my day, better yet my year💖 Lots of love 👑
@@ravenhairedreaderIt’s so beautiful! The writing style is gorgeous, the characters are enchanting and the story is sweeping! Read them both as it ends on a cliff hanger!
Rachel, can you please read To Bleed A Crystal Bloom by Sarah A. Parker? I think you would love it since you're reading a lot of dark romantasy currently and it's also by the same author as When The Moon Hatched 😊
I just finished Kingdom of Ash yesterday and I‘m so sad, I was pretty disappointed with the finale of the series! :( I expected soo much more and I felt like there wasn‘t a lot of plot and the ending disappointed me as well, which just made me so sad since I love the world and the characters! 😭
Loving how great of a reading month you had!! 🤍 I'm dying to hear your thoughts on Fallen Stars. I downloaded Heavenly Bodies and am curious if the second book is as good as I've heard the first one is
My favorite book this month was Tress of the Emerald Sea 🌊 ✨
I'm so excited to read This woven kingdom and Quicksilver sometime soon. They sound so good.
👑 I added more books to my TBR now 😅
Do you prefer acotar or throne of glass?
I'm currently reading Quick Silver and loving it so far🤍👑

Thanks to you, I pre-ordered Fear the flames and I can't wait to discover this story !
Not Another Love Song was the best book I read in August. It was kind of an ehhh reading month for me 👑

Your top is to die for 🤩
She always has the best tops! I vote for a clothing haul ✨️
Beware of book four in the plated prisoners series 🤭 I felt like it dragged for most of the book. 👑
Yay! A new vlog by the queen of booktok herself 😆🥰
Is she on TikTok?
@@shelleylawrence8397 I don't know

The special edition isn't that ugly... I think I'll buy that one
lol! I said the same thing! Thank God I got the indie published version last year ..
@@Jen_nyyy honestly I wish I had the indie published version too.
ikkk and i didn’t get the indie cover bc it was on kindle unlimited so i was like ill just read it there first 🤦🏾♀️
I received my purple UK cover today and I love it

I gave nectar of the wicked a very generous two star. I couldn’t stand it 😅
