You offered some great tip and tricks to the G. The manual will have you taking out the entire radiator core support which involves disconnecting ac lines & such. This saves a lot of time! Great work. Subbed
Just a heads up, Gs have a battery sensor that works with the ECM to regulate the alternator voltage. If the battery and alternator is good, the voltage will drop to about 13v to 13.5v at the battery with the car running. This is normal. If the ECM thinks the battery needs more voltage, it will increase the alternator output. To check the alternator, you have to unplug the battery sensor which is near the negative terminal.
@just here are you talking about the sensor on the negative harness? I might have to check that... I I got an extra negative harness with the sensor as well as a new fuse link... I even got a working ECU/BCM/key combo all for cheap but I haven't tried it yet... I also have no codes for the current sensor and checked all my grounds... I'm having problems since I got it replaced on my G35x 2007 sedan... alternator will charge at 14.5a when I start the car but as soon as I drive for 5-10min it drops to 13.0a but it will go under to 12.6 even 12.5 which is not supposed to... the shop didnt an OEM in it (mitsubishi since I dont think hitachi make them anymore even for the dealer) so I sent it to the garage today for the 3rd time... guys is pissed and telling me its the car computer lol... but I never checked the charging voltage with the sensor unplugged...
@@habsfan1985 yeah, that sensor wraps around the negative wire and plugs into a connector on the harness. To test the alternator, you need to unplug that first before starting the car.
Are u sure? Service manual said alternator should make 14.1-14.7, just watched my obd scanner car say 12.9-13, I don’t know should I replace alternator
Just for future reference, you can pull the fans and leave the shroud in. Saves you from disconnecting the rad hose. I undid the sway bar just for extra room.
I did my water pump on the G man it was annoying and very time consuming considering i also work at a shop so be prepared when it does go out cause you have to open the timing chain cover. Wondering if y’all can help... I recently checked the tension indicator (little 3 lines that line up with the single line) and I seen it was clearly messed up. The single line was lined up with the farthest indicator to the right. So then I changed the timing belt and it worked. Drove it around the corner and when I checked it had gone back to being messed up. Do you guys think I need a new tensioner piece or can it be the pulleys.
Have you look at ur car manual to check. Its kinda hard to put the belt on wrong it only goes one way. And if it could the car should run right. Did you figure it out?
Around 180 I believe with core charge and I only bleed a little. Grabbed the bottom radiator hose a squeeze a few time until all the air is out. Do it with radiator cap off

Nice, one of the few people to wears gloves to protect their hands while working on a car.
I'd happily pay $625. My infiniti dealer was talking $1,250 and another one $950. Goodyear Auto said $560 and that's who I'm going with.
