    Hoka has answered our prayers. Clifton 6 and Rincon are winners 🙌

    While I was running in both the Rincon and Clifton 6, I kept trying to lean toward the Rincon, but I always enjoyed my time better in the Clifton. Same reasons maybe, getting older, my legs appreciate the smooth cushioned ride. Rincon ended up being too narrow anyway to keep it in rotation. Rincon is fantastic, and deserves all the praise it's getting, but for me, it's Clifton every time.

      Kip Count just a preference thing. After an initial love affair with the Rincon I went back to Clifton 6.

    .....sooooo I just saw and bought a pair from eBay (5years later , I did buy a pair in 2020 and remembered how good they were), still in pristine condition, outsole was still in amazing no wear condition...and I forgot how comfortable these were compared to today's (2024) compared to the firmer formulation, the super soft, or nitrogen I fused marshmallow midsoles. I forgot how this formulation (and the Clifton 7 to be fair) was right in the Goldilocks zone, and even the stack height, which would be probably considered a more "minimal" shoe these days. I miss this kind of shoe, the perfect in between shoe.

    I used to be a serious marathon and ultra runner until a botched spinal fusion surgery left me with a spinal cord injury and disabled.....which meant my running days were over (hardest thing in world to accept) But, I’ve learned to basically walk all over again over the course of 4 years, and I can even jog a little bit. I was a forefoot runner (not a heal striker) and even ran barefoot some. I’m wondering if Hoka Clifton 6 would be good for a forefoot runner, and also be kind to my current spine /back issues....being well cushioned up front of the shoe during plant and push off. I don’t really have any restrictions, and I can do what ever pain will allow me to do. I wore Nike Frees before my woes, but I can’t wear something so minimal now .
    Thanks, if anyone can comment ....

    My rincon is showing excessive wear in the outsole after 40 miles. I'm not a heavy stepper or heavy build either.
    The only outsole that broke down quicker than the Rincon was the Huaca. I suppose you get what you pay for. Otherwise I'd love the shoe nix the durability concerns.

    Hey, I just bought the Evo Speedgoat, like it a lot, nice and light, great trail tread too.

    I recently bought a pair of Nike Zoom Vomero 14s and they are the first shoes that haven’t hurt my feet. I don’t do much running just a lot of waking and standing. Would you say these fit similarly in terms of cushion and support? I tried some Brooks Adrenalines but they felt a bit cramped.

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, these are popular with non-runners for their comfort.

    I know the Clifton 6 isn't rated as a stability shoe but with that being said along with many different reviews touting the stability of the C6, how does it compare to the Arahi 3?

  • @jefreywith1f924
    @jefreywith1f924 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Save your money until August for you max cushion enthusiasts. For us blue collar runners who actually have to pay for their shoes, the Sketchers Go Run Max road Hyper 4 might just be a better bang for your buck. Based on advanced previews, It's lighter, cheaper and more responsive and flexable than the Hoka Clifton 6. And judging by the pictures, not bad looking for a Sketchers. As a sidebar, much can be said the same in my opinion about the New Balance Beacon 2 vs the Hoka Rincon. Lighter more responsive and better durability and road feel, the Beacon 2 for five dollars more is also better bang for your buck than the Hoka Rincon. We'll see if the Sketchers Go Run Max road Hyper 4 lives up to the hype or hyper.

      jefreywith1f if the Go Run Max Road 4s are as good as the 3s (which I think they’ll be even better) they will squash the competition for max cushion. I loved the 3s and thought they were much more comfortable than the Clifton 3s. Cannot wait for that shoe

      Max Road 4 felt stiff in comparison to the clifton 6. New balance beacon felt stiff as well.

    Thanks for the info. I have a pair of Clifton 5. They are narrow around the arch and when I run longer than 7 miles, give my feet blisters. (I've never had another sneaker Eve give me blisters.). Do you think Hoka fixed the narrowness of the 5, and what are your suggestions about the blisters?

    Thomas, what would be the best shoe for 2019 so far for running a 10K and/or Half marathon?

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Possibly the NB Fuelcell Rebel, the Vaporfly Next%, Skechers Razor 3, if you want a Hoka in there, the Rincon

    Hey Thomas.
    Can you compare the Clifton 6 to the Nike Pegasus 36 ?

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      IR95 yes, Clifton is more cushioned and more stable. The Nike Peg 36 is a good daily trainer, looks cooler.

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      But I’d go Clifton 6

    • @ir9587
      @ir9587 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Believeintherun Actually I'm just about to order either the pegs, or hokas. I've tried the pegasus 36 before and while they were comfortable and breathable, they didn't leave me good enough impressions to replace my current shoes. I've never tried Hokas before, but everyone seems to love them.. Great cushioning, perfect for longer runs (someone even said that the Clifton 6 is a good choice if you are looking for one shoe for every type of run). I think i'll go with the Clifton, hope I won't make a mistake. Thanks for your comment and the wonderful review, it helped me a lot!

    • @V1RT8
      @V1RT8 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been running with Pegasus for over 20 years, changing shoes after about 300 miles. (That means one to two months at the most per pair, depending on season) I worn out just three pairs of 36’s then I tried the Clifton 6 and I’ll never go back to Pegasus as long as Hoka will keep making something like the Clifton 6. (For recovery days, nice and easy runs, I use the Bondi 6 and they are great too)
