SKYWARD X! This shoe has been a total game changer for me. Before this shoe, running started feeling somewhat of a chore and obligation. Skyward X reignited my relationship with running. I look forward to waking up early in the morning and lacing up these bad boys.
Good afternoon. Brilliant video. Like to Believe in the Run. My vote goes to: 1- Saucony endorphin speed 4. 2- Brooks hyperion Max 2. 3- Asics superblast 2. Happy friday.
I have purchased and run in the Endorphin Speed 4, Puma Deviate Nitro 3, Pegasus Plus, Superblast 2, Tracksmith Eliot, and Pegasus 41 in the last 4 months. They are all great shoes. The days of bad shoes are over. The Endorphin Speed 4, Deviate Nitro 3, and Superblast 2 are the top tier. The win goes to the Superblast 2 because of the fit. It’s nice and snug in the heel and midfoot so lockdown is great but it has more space in the toe box than all the others.
Hyperion Max 2 is the surprise of the year for me, a really good traditional workhorse shoe for long runs, marathon training. Upper is fantastic, it's comfortable, rocker and roll through is great even though the shoe is on the firmer side, which I usually don't like, but this shoe is great, only Brooks I have.
9:29 whoa, sick burn on Altra!🔥I wasn't sold on the Specter 2 on first (easy) run, but then I took them for 6 miles of cruise intervals and these souped-up Civics kicked ass. Thanks for the recommendation, Robbe.
@@antihero5518 hi, it’s perfect for the road and light trails/canal paths. I have the DN2 as well, find them a bit snug in the toe box so don’t wear them anymore. Find the Nova and Superblast more comfortable for long runs.
I bought the Saucony Endorphin Speed 4, and I was expecting a better shoe, but the insoles are somewhat thin, causing heel drag. My temporary solution to fix the heel drag was to buy custom insoles. While this worked, it’s not practical in the long run to keep buying custom insoles whenever the cushioning wears out. I hope the Saucony product team addresses the heel drag issue in the fifth version and reduces the firmness of the plate. I didn’t experience any heel drag or the firm ride with the 3rd version of the Endorphin Speed. Most runners seem to find the shoe comfortable and enjoyable to run in, but as someone with high arches and a different leg swing, I had a poor experience with the Endorphin Speed 4. Unfortunately, I sold my Endorphin Speed 4 after running a maximum of 48 km in them. I may not consider buying the Saucony Endorphin Speed 5 for now and might look into the Asics Superblast 2, New Balance Rebel v4, or Puma Deviate Nitro 3 instead.
Mach x2 wasn’t good for me. Heel slip even with a runners loop. It almost feels too low on the heel. It’s more of a race fit and I found the top of my foot felt tight with pressure on both foot bumps.
Very much enjoyed my Mach 6 and after those wore out, am enjoying the Hyperion Max 2. Next purchase will be the Hyperion 2 after my last pair of v2 of the Endo Speed wears out. I wish they’d left that model unchanged 😢But meanwhile, I’m glad Robbe included the Hyp Max 2 bc it’s amazing for marathon pace miles on long runs, and -as a runner who hates mushy soft midsoles -I have to say this midsole leaves my feet feeling fresh and protected on the longest of runs. Also, I find myself going faster than the effort feels. The opposite happens for me with very soft shoes like the Rebel 4 and the high stack softies. I didn’t return them but I won’t replace them when they’re done.
Hey guys, looking at some views on the saucony endorphin pro 4s…. ! I’m currently using superblasts 2, but looking at something with a bit more kick…currently a 1:36 half runner…would I see noticeable difference ?
@Sabundy I have the Og's and still wear them now the superblast 2's I love the fit much better so I power walk hills it save my legs, calf, hips, knees, im 53 years old from 237lbs to 179lbs so letl me know your best shoe I would love to hear?!
High prices for these cream of crop shoes. I think most runs and runners are served great with a novablast 4 or Mach 6 type of shoe. They are pro shoe reviewers so showing you the cream only. Tips just look for last year model when the new one comes out . I have also had some nice healthcare worker discounts that are not well advertised from the companies webpages. Usually best option is to buy last years model as soon as the new one is announced as coming out .
I need wide width so limited in that way. Bouggt 3 pair of shoes this year Fuel cell rebel 4. Was by far my favorite shoe i bought this year. Also liked ghost max a lot.
I keep trying Hokas because so many people swear by them but holy crap I cant stand them the second I start running. Blisters, knee pain etc.... not for me I suppose.
I really dont get the love for skyward. I tried that and Cielo X1 at a Hoka event and took it for 3,5k. It was super heavy, and soooo muchy. It was like running in sand with ankle weights on. Yeah it was comfy, but i would guess my HR was 10 higher than normal due to the work you had to put in to just lift your feet. Cielo X1 though... Epic shoe -except the laces.
The purpose of Skyward X is for Training not for racing. That's why it's heavy. But it is great for long run, easy day. it keeps rolling your feet. No injury No pain.
Sky Paris and Hyperion Max 2 are the only shoes that I have purchased this year. I have been waiting months for the Topo Specter 2 to drop in the UK and now starting to get a bit frustrated (I think that it's expected this month).
Craft pacer, I’ve run in every possible brand and spent way too much money trying to find a shoe that would work for me. The craft pacer does it all for me, and I have no issues whatsoever.
What shoes would you recommend for track interval workouts? Paces around 3:00 - 3:20/k. Currently using the Vaporfly 3 but not sure I'm a massive fan, doesn't really excite me
What would yall recommend for those of us with Fred flinstone feet lol my shit be wide. Wanted to try Nike but they’re notoriously narrow and the last pair of Nikes I owned gave me so many blisters that I never went back to the brand
I can. So disappointed with these. That foam is a con. It's super compressive with zero energy return. It feels like plain EVA from ten years ago. New Balance tricked us by calling it an PEBA/EVA blend but it's mostly EVA. Good marketing but i much prefer the Fuelcell foam from earlier versions. Even recovery runs feel like a chore in those shoes......
It'll sure to be on the most overrated show lists... The new midsole blend is a complete failure. The first 200km were great then it fell of a cliff and felt like it was made of jelly.
What is your top pick for the people who would like a 8-10 drop that isn’t a super shoe but is still fun to run in? Can’t do the crazy stack heights but still want some pop. Tried the Superblast but my back and hamstrings can’t handle it. Loved the Triumph 21’s but 22’s suck.
Seems the Puma DN3 is highly rated by these guys (esp. Thomas) and Yowana but some runners like Sagasu + other reddit reviewers who've bought the shoe dont like it; very polarizing. Wonder if it's because of their footstrike. I know Yowana is a heel striker and his reviews are spot on for me because he mentions if a shoe is good for certain footstrikesrs. Is Thomas a heel striker as well? Edit: I mean, I've tried it in-store. Felt good. Would be nice to try it for a run but I can return if I dont like by any chance. I'm a midfoot to forefoot striker. Any insight from DN3 runners would be dope. TIA!
I'm a forefoot runner and I love the Pumas. Even moreso than the Asics Paris. The foam is great 🎉 And the plate feels natural in the shoe - no weird feeling there at all
Surprised not to see the Mount to Coast R1 or S1 after the good reviews. Probably because of their very limited availability? I would add the Novablast 4, especially the TR version that's a great road to trail shoe.
Haha just casually laughing at the Nike Peg Plus... and they mentioned it too! How can the Peg Plus compete with the performance and price point of the SL2??!
Altras are very hit and miss for me, and im someone who wears barefoot shoes when im not running, the majority of the time. I sometimes use barefoot shoes when running, but only before rest day(s) lmao
I have to vote against the Salomon S/lab Spectur... Bought the shoe after your review... It's super dull, foam has nothing interesting for an easy day, plate is MIA for faster days... Total miss!
SKYWARD X! This shoe has been a total game changer for me. Before this shoe, running started feeling somewhat of a chore and obligation. Skyward X reignited my relationship with running. I look forward to waking up early in the morning and lacing up these bad boys.
Ooooh tell me more?? I really want to try the Skyward X

For me,
1. Hoka Cielo X1
2. NB elite v4
3. Saucony Pro 4
4. Hoka Skyward X
Love this unfiltered episode with and without the beeps. Feels so much more relatable and human for some reason😂
1. Mach X2, 2. Novablast 4, 3. Skyward X...top 3 for me
Love my NB Rebel v4. Very light, cushioned, stability ok, nice colors
I get these at discount only

Loving the Neo Vista, Metaspeed Sky Paris, and the Mach 6.

New runner here,y'all are awesome. Appreciate y'all.

Did you order your standard size or up a half size?
@@abigaillesleigh7637 My usual size (US11) was also ok, just a little bit snug, but I wanted this shoe to be comfortable so I went half size up, yes.
9:29 whoa, sick burn on Altra!🔥I wasn't sold on the Specter 2 on first (easy) run, but then I took them for 6 miles of cruise intervals and these souped-up Civics kicked ass. Thanks for the recommendation, Robbe.
I AGREE ROBBIE THAT ADIZERO SL2 is shoe of yr..seriously sleeper but a must for that price point..
I love the Hyperion max 2 - difficult to put into words how good it feels under foot. I’ve even been wearing it on races with great results
Hoka is definitely, and surprisingly, on fire this year. Mach 6 is great!
Yeah, kinda stunned it didn't make the list.
Superblast 2, Novablast 4TR and Rebel V4 for me in that order. Great vid 👍
I love the novablast 4 tr for the daily road easy gravel trails I run on ! (I think l it is a slightly beefier outsole on a novablast 4 )
Hi! Would the NB 4TR be good for road? Seems it's unanimous that the grip is less than desirable. Thinking about the TR and Puma DN3 for long runs.
@@antihero5518 hi, it’s perfect for the road and light trails/canal paths. I have the DN2 as well, find them a bit snug in the toe box so don’t wear them anymore. Find the Nova and Superblast more comfortable for long runs.
Endorphin speed 4 were great did my first half in them then upgraded to endorphin pro 3 for my second one . Both phenomenal shoes
How did you size the speed? I usually go up a half size.
What is your top 3 for long runs? I really need from daily long runs… started training for a marathon. Thanks.
Ran in the Mach X2, seems like an amazing shoe for someone who is in shape. Alas, I'm overweight and out of shape.
Superblast 2 and the endorphin speed 4. I can do with either one just fine 🤙✌️bonus shoe is Clifton 9 🙃
NB Rebel V4 is my go to fun daily shoe. 3 pairs already with 500kms on each. ❤ Also Puma brand for most improved and value for money this year.
1.Neo Vista 2. SL2 3.SB2
The combo of you three... Thumb 👍 from UK

What about the Mach 6? How would you compare it to the SL2? Which one has a wider toe box? Thank you!
SL 2 and also cheaper go 1/2 size up
Great list.
My favorites (some are older than this year...) :
- NB Pacer V2
- Hoka Cielo Road
- Nike Streakfly
- Altra Escalante 4
- Altra Escalante Racer 2
- Hoka Mach 6
- Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2
- Hoka Rocket X 2
Elite 2 is superb for workouts and lesser races. Elite 3 I'm saving for race day. The few miles of put on them totally rocked
I have to say...I like the OG studio reviews. I feel like I'm in a BITR time capsule 🌠
Mach x2 wasn’t good for me. Heel slip even with a runners loop. It almost feels too low on the heel. It’s more of a race fit and I found the top of my foot felt tight with pressure on both foot bumps.
Very excited to try Asics SB2. Put >1000 mi on each of my 6 pair of SB1s. Light but extremely cushioned and a very durable shoe.
Superblast 2, Skwyard X, and Cielo X
ASICS for brand of the year!
ASICS has to be brand of the year imho. Mizuno is most improved brand.
The Neo Vista got me! It was a ruff start, but once I got used, man, what a pair of sneakers!!!
Best shoe for me so far, hopefully they make also a TR Version of NV
Much more fun than Skyward/Balos/SC/SB
Neo Vista is Nr. 1
Really surprised no rebel v4…. Think it’s my favorite daily trainer of the year…. But I haven’t run in the SL2…

Did a 1:36 half with the Superblast 1 and three months later 1:32 with the EP 4, so I also think you’d see a difference…
