Why is it that whenever I see you explaining something it lit's a bulb in my head saying "Oh, of course! It was so OBVIOUS! How come I never realized this before???" Man, you're good.
I have no idea why, but for some reason, one of my favorite things about watching Sycra's videos is that I can hear him drawing on the tablet. Like the stylus brushing over the tablet screen, the weird shakey noise it makes when he moves the pen. Of course, the content of the videos are great, but for some reason i love that i get to hear him drawing on the tablet.
I've started drawing in some kind of super sloppy style, with complete disregard of how messy my drawing looks. I might add that I'm a complete beginner, but I've found that If I'm completely loose with my drawing and let my drawings get messy I can draw much better! The really loose and sloppy stuff actually ends up looking better then if I tried harder to make perfect, or semi perfect lines.
It would be fun if you made quiz videos for example 7:00 min you show them that picture and ask people what's wrong with it and after like 10 sec you show the answer. Of course this is a beginner question but there are a lot of possibilities. Just an idea.
thank you for your rant on your views on learning from reality, i highly agree. i was very thankful to hear it from somebody else, in all honesty. It helps me feel better about my opinion.
4:25 We, dentists, call it translation by that forward movement of the jaw but I honestly never thought it should be illustrated. :\ interesting Sycra.
Here´s one for you Sycra: How to draw ORNAMENTS! You know, those beautiful, intricate little detailed works of art that enhance ordinary things, like spoons, knives, buildings.... now there´s a tutorial no artist seems to want to tackle AT ALL. I believe there is a secret to abstract design, but that is sadly never soemthing that is explored in any tutorial ...wait there are no tutorials on how to design abstract things like patterns lol
I still can't believe this dude put these videos on the internet for free those are like hidden gems im recommending them to every beginner artist i know
Anyone opened and closed their mouth when he was talking about jaw movement? Like I literally just realized only your lower jaw moves...I knew but you never would really pay attention to it...
alot of the stuff that I had problems drawing back then I cured with this channel. Thank you, Sycra! Now I can add actual lips and eyes to my cartoons!
Hey Sycra, I really enjoy your art tutorials. They have taught me a lot. Is there any chance that you will redo your old anatomy videos with voice overs? I find it more helpful and easier to follow and learn. Thank you and keep it up!
"magical vision lines" ah, perspective is like the constant in a differential equation. Depending on where you start, it changes the line. heh! ...math joke.
Very insightful and I learned quite a bit~ I lost it a bit on the initial example tho where he just moves the jaw downwards. All I could think was some trendy girl going, "LOL LIKE OMG!!" OTL
4:28 it also depends on if you have an "overbite"(now that is a direct translation from my language, so excuse me if it isn't right) as some people have, and so on.
OHH!! Thanks for saying that bit at the end, I thought you meant realism, and I'm terrible at realism so whenever you would say "draw from life" I'd go "aghh, but I'm terrible at that." If that's what you mean, I actually enjoy drawing from life, and it's definitely helpful! (Though I am guilty of referencing anime sometimes!)
Hi Sycra! I'm just a beginner at digital painting, I don't know anything about it. Do you have any recommendations about which tablet I should begin with? My question is not very relevant to this video, but I hope you could help! Thanks in advance xD
Sycra, i've had trouble lately with finding what I truly WANT to draw. There's a lot of different things that I HAVE drawn and, to be honest style has never rly been my problem.. Its just that I lack a VISION of things that want to draw (as in I don't have a particular niche.. Some draw concept art, some draw anime/manga, etc.) I cant find my niche. It's like I have skill, but nothing to apply it to, but i know I love drawing. I love manga, i love characters, i like stuff like Terada Katsuya and Kim Jung Gi and just a lot of stuff in that genre. What would be your advice?
Why is it that whenever I see you explaining something it lit's a bulb in my head saying "Oh, of course! It was so OBVIOUS! How come I never realized this before???"
