my dad threw away all my sketch books when i was a kid and i never drew since then but watching your videos inspired me to start drawing again, so i just wanted to give you my utmost thanks.
If anybody asks me the best art tutorials videos on the internet, you're gonna be the first guy to mention on the list. You provide just the perfect amount of information without it being too convoluted nor too simplistic. Thanks a lot, Jazza :3
Man, you really seemed to have stepped up your game in drawing, man. Your stuff seems a lot more professional and stylized now. I mean, I learned a lot from your older videos, but man, keep it up! Thanks haha
Thank you! I did notice a good improvement after comparing this to the old tutorial which is satisfying. It doesn't hurt drawing every day it turns out :)
I just wanted to say thanks Jazza, I was depressed for a long time and your videos, and happy personality helped bring me back to loving life! I forgot how much art helps me. I will follow your example and thanks for all of your amazing insight!
omg, watching this in 2017 and jazza has changed so much, he always stutters and pauses, he is overall a bit awkward now. He has grown so much in character. (he said, "i dont know the word but you know what i mean.*makes awkward grumble * yeah" 3 times).
Oh, so that bottom curve is supposed to be the lower bit of the lip? It might have been obvious to others, but in my 27 years on this planet, I've always seen that bit as the dimple under the mouth... you know, where the soul patch grows, the tiny bit of "beard" between the lips and the beard. Now that you mentioned it, I can see the lip bit, but I still think it looks like that dimple.
I really enjoy all your tutorials. I've been watching and drawing with a bunch of them these last few weeks and they are very helpful and I learned lots from you!
are you drawing this on a wacom tablet? i'm currently trying to become a digital artist and im still learning how to draw on my wacom tablet rather than on paper. I find it much more flexible and forgiving than drawing on paper and I'm impressed by how fluidly you draw :)
The fluidity is mostly the result of experience, I myself have been practising this alot and am slowly getting more experience thus more able to use the medium
What amazing timing! I have just stumbled upon a pic where the focus really is on the lips/mouth (which is/are open to reveal some teeth), and I'm having trouble making them really come out well. It's a cartoony rendition of a black and white photo, so this tut. should do just well. Have a like, Jazza :D
*"After this section, we're gonna be working with teeth and tongues and various angles. This is where things get a little more complicated, but also, a lot more fun"* I found that so damn funny xD
youre drawings help very much im 11 going 12 and ive been drawing anime with my friends since grade 3 i just started watchin today you help alot and i just got a sketchbook i have ocd but i try not to show it on others so i also try to excel more to say the rights and wrongs thank you very much for giving tutors
could you do a tutorial or tip on water stuff. like how to draw yet clothing or hair, or how to draw things underwater. Something along those lines? >v
Hi there Jazza. I am a recently reborn artist/cartoonist and I am working on a kids picture book but currently using the old fashioned paper/pencil/pen and ink method. It's really slow going and unfortunately lends to a LOT of erasing and lines and smudges.(Obviously you know) I really want to buy an illustrator/ animation PC or software(I am using Windows 7 currently) My question: What do YOU use? Should I buy a separate PC for animating/cartooning? And about how much do they cost? Thanks so much! Love your tutorials! They have helped me immensely!
Hey,Jazza you used a V-cam in your 'Larry of karryon' series. But the video does not have bad quality, but my animations made by V-cam(I need to export it in .mp4),their quality is being reduced by Xilisoft swf to mp4 converter, but your Larry series' quality is good,so could you make a tutorial on the software you used to convert the larry series from swf to mp4 or any other video format.Another thing, I used Xilisoft swf to mp4 converter because only in xilisoft a V-cam can work properly. If not a tutorial, could you just tell me which software you used.
When I draw teeth I start with the flesh and depending on the feeling I am going for, I might make it look like a V if I am aiming for a monster, but if I am aiming for a human I use a more of a u shape
Hi, firstly, I love your tutorials, I have learned a lot with you xD, and secondly , stupid question, but I have just bought a Wacom tablet so I can draw in the computer, but I'm not sure which program I should use, and I was wondering if you can tell me which program are you using here?
Yes, as full as you want to make them, but use straight lines! Female lips are depicted with curves, so make sure to avoid them when drawing male lips.
my dad threw away all my sketch books when i was a kid and i never drew since then but watching your videos inspired me to start drawing again, so i just wanted to give you my utmost thanks.
TimmyTumbleweed why did your dad throw away your sketchbooks?
It's been 4 years

My professor recommended your videos, looks like you know what you're doing. Kudos to you man!
Thanks for all these tutorials. Definitely helps my "art".
Your "art"?
+Red Ruby I'm not a good artist. I don't call it art...
EDKsurly Well you'll improve soon! Don't give up!
I can now draw lips, the one thing I've been struggling with the most since forever. Thanks!
I just wanted to say thanks Jazza, I was depressed for a long time and your videos, and happy personality helped bring me back to loving life! I forgot how much art helps me. I will follow your example and thanks for all of your amazing insight!

This guy is an anatomy god
since most of these comments are really old, in 2019 jazza is still going strong and hes still the best
I agree. I'm trying to learn how to draw.
"We're going to be dealing with teeth, and tongues, and angles. Now, that's where things get a little more complicated, but also: more fun."

I thought that too!
That's what I intend for it to be whenever I draw it.
You are my guardian angel.
Love from the states.
*3 years later* his drawings are still amazing and quite frankly, better than here :)
Thank you very much, Jazza, to take into consideration our request about the old tutorial in this way.
I really enjoy all your tutorials. I've been watching and drawing with a bunch of them these last few weeks and they are very helpful and I learned lots from you!
Aahhh the memories. Look at him now, at 10 million. And his work just gets better and better
The last head has a mouth-stache you can see it at 4:58
Am I the only one who plays the tutorial in the background and do my own thing anyway? It still somehow helps me get better.
You are a lifesaver... it's 3 in the morning and I can't fall asleep :/
Great tutorial, makes me want to draw!
Just wondering, where did you learn to draw, because wherever you learned they did a great job at teaching you, cause you are amazing at drawing
Hooray! Thank you so much! Now I can continue watching your drawing tutorials!
Wow I’m in jazza archives. I remember when this came out lmao I love this
hey man, if ur reading this, your thumbnail alone helped me soooo much, thx!
Well that was a... mouth-full

hes using a cintiq, its the one with a lcd touch display which u draw onto. I have a intuos which is comparatively harder to draw smooth lines.
"Women are good with curves."
Thank you for sharing it. That was really necessary information
I want to thank you for all these videos. I am slowly improving my drawing now. :D

Your grammar shows how much of a perfectionist you are

FINALLY! A TUTORIAL THAT IS HELPFUL!
Thank you Jazza this tutorial really helped. I always had trouble with doing mouths but this tutorial helped. ☺️☺️

Hi Jazza, Do you have an accompanying tutorial called "How to draw eyes and nose" ? I really enjoyed this one and learnt so much!! Cheers, xxA
not yt recommending this to me 7 years later 😭😭😭
You saved my English project. Thank You!!!!
Idk why but no matter how I look at it, the upper lip, when darkened looks alot like a mustache :P That is why I prefer drawing simple lines xD
This guy really is good :) xx
love the accent btw.
When I draw teeth I start with the flesh and depending on the feeling I am going for, I might make it look like a V if I am aiming for a monster, but if I am aiming for a human I use a more of a u shape
i really admire your work, please could you do a tutorial on drawing shadows
Do you have a vid tutorial of cartoon style mouths for male and female? I've learned a lot from this channel and for free! that's the best part
OMG youre wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your talent!!
Wow these really help my skills
jazza's lighting was variating b/w orange and blue. White balance issues?
Hi, firstly, I love your tutorials, I have learned a lot with you xD, and secondly , stupid question, but I have just bought a Wacom tablet so I can draw in the computer, but I'm not sure which program I should use, and I was wondering if you can tell me which program are you using here?

-Jazza 2014
I like your drawing style, is fancy.
I'm trying to draw like that, because i like it, i like it soo much. sorry for my english
In France, we call the top lip shape "The Cupidon bow"
Oh my god this video is so old but still helpful XD ty
Jazza, thats really awsome.. which brush und which size do you use? thanks.
OMG Thank you SO MUCH i need this video :D Awesome so happy
Thank you, this was very helpful.
I have lots of trouble drawing lips/mouths in an anime character because I always mess up the shading,
Is there a way to make the male lips look fuller while still making them look masculine? Like for black males.
You could put a few wrinkle lines in the lip
You could put a few wrinkle lines in the lip
Yes, as full as you want to make them, but use straight lines! Female lips are depicted with curves, so make sure to avoid them when drawing male lips.
FYI its not only females who have thicker lips , black also them as well
Thank you. Very helpful.
This is actually helpful haha
