Genius on the terminals for feeders vs. splice/crimps/splice locks!

Thanks. I’ve done both. I think these work better in my opinion.

@@SeaboardCentral My first foray into hardcore wiring after many builds with my rebuild.

    This was very helpful to
me. Just what I needed to see with growing my layout. Thanks.

Used those juicers on my ME ladder switches…worked wonders…wired my layout similar using the terminal strips but yours look nicer

Yes, they work really good with ME turnouts. I am trying to recycle as many track components from the old layout that I can, including the track and these juicers. It’s a lot of work but it is going to pay off and end up looking better than the original. I am also taking my time and trying to keep my wiring as neat as I can.

I have started using the new Peco unifrog turnouts. I power the frog using integral DCC point motors (switch machines) that have their own frog juicers. It has really simplified things

Peco definitely has one up on Micro Engineering with the unifrog. I have just stuck with ME because I prefer how they look compared to other brands. So I make use of the frog juicers to make the ME track perform more like Peco.

I use Peco Unifrogs, my entire 18' long switching layout using those is powered by 2 feeders clipped to the end of one spur with alligator clips, no dead spots using those, the only finicky locomotives that stop going through them are my Bachmann SD40-2 with their E-Z Command decoder and my Walthers/LifeLike Proto 2000 GP30 with a QSI decoder.

A lot of people use Peco track. I hear it is bulletproof. I opted for Micro Engineering years ago just because I preferred the look of the track compared to other brands. I guess the extra protection of the frog juicers helps to bring it up to the reliability of Peco. For my locomotives I prefer ESU LokSound decoders with their Power Pack Keep Alive’s. For me it is the best of both worlds. There my standard on the SC. :)

I’m running N Peco Electrofrogs Without Juicer feeders. Somehow they work fine. Feeding power from both ends of Switches with insulators on Frog rails.

I use Micro Engineering track which has insulated frogs. I noticed a definite improvement when I started adding the frog juicers years ago. Often the problem area was actually between the points and the frog. Some turnouts had no issues, but others definitely did until I added the frog juicers.

Tim, excellent progress on the Seaboard Central, I'm nearly done with my railroad since I started building it back in 2020.

Like Double Diamond, I use Peco Electrofrogs that don’t need juiced. But I really have to watch my switch setting for loco. If switch set wrong it shorts out. 📢🤬. Not a big problem, I just fix it while the command station reboots. I think you wouldn’t need a juicer when using a Circuitron switch motor as they can change polarity of the frog. I haven’t tried it because just fit dead frogs by using stay-alive devices in my locos.

The frog juicers have been a good fit for me and the Micro Engineering insulated turnouts that I use. Thanks for watching and commenting. Tim

I'm a big fan of the Tam Valley Depot stuff. I have a bunch of the QuadLN switch boards.

I have the same frog juicer, and it's hooked up right, but it never changes color or seems like it's working. Any ideas?

Not sure on that one. Sounds like it is not getting power
