I’ve had my MY19 Ranger Wildtrak BiTurbo since January and other than a slight hesitation from the gears when starting off especially at traffic lights I cannot fault it in any way. I have to agree that it’s more like a SUV than a Ute and I think a better ride than the Prado I traded in.
The engine and cabin are incredibly quiet, the steering and handling are wonderful and the economy of between 8 and 9 litres per hundred very easy to live with. I believe it’s one of the best utes around and definitely the best one I have owned .
It is much more pleasing to own than that other one that is still number 1. I have also found that my Ford dealer and the service department have been great in their customer service. I have no hesitation in recommending this Ute.

How long before it was run in enough to get those fuel figures? I'm getting 10.2L/100km with almost all freeway driving. I was getting better figures in my PXii 3.2L XLT.
I haven't hit 1000km yet though so the motor is still a little tight.

I traded my 2018 Ranger Wildtrak for the new 2020 Raptor. Worse mistake I ever made. Raptor looks and drives great, but can't tow, and can't over take very easily on a highway.

Works great for us. Under New Zealand laws a ute like the Ranger can legally tow more than anything else. Something like a Landcruiser 200 would tow better obviously, but we are limited to 6,000kg GVM regardless of the tow vehicle. 2 ton ute, 3,500kg boat and 500kg left over for payload works fine.

I tow 3T regularity with my 2019 XLT 2.0BiTurbo. Previously I had the 3.2. The 2.0BiTurbo has it in leaps and bounds over the 3.2l, and I was previously a “no replacement for displacement” kinda guy. Drive a 2.0 BiTurbo, you won’t be disappointed.

It's awesome at towing, pulling very comfortably with no issues, it pulls away from junctions cleanly I have single axle and triple axle trailers, and it copes well with the weight up to 3500kg. In the uk we have one engine with a single turbo and the wildtrak with the bi turbo I've had the older 2.2 engine and the bi turbo seems a lot more capable. Hate to break it to you but you're wrong here. The 2.0 is better up hills than the 3.2 both loaded and unloaded, towing and not towing. It's not a highly strung motor either. It doesn't run overly high boost or fuel pressures, it's just a very efficient motor. I've had both and I'm grateful for the 2.0.

Built to last till the warranty runs out except Ford keeps miscalculating so their cars break down sooner. They ignore customers. Eventually the government fines them a few million. Ford pays it happily. Government gets money. Customers still stuck with garbage. Ford does it globally, expect to see these for nothing or at wreckers yards in 10 years. The 2.0 is what I'm referring to.

The rear axel on all these duel cab utes is about 1.8 or 1.9 tons with the front axel being about 1.4 ton.
Being that the whole payload is on the rear axel and the passengers being centred spreed the weight on both axels you will be hard pressed to load 954kg and stay within your rear axel load limits.
Is this a serious review or just and ad for Ford cause they lent you a car?
If your going to review a product don’t just read out the press release, do your research and do the review properly or don’t do it at all !

Don’t buy one with the 2 litre motor 😅 assuming that’s why they went away from them. Love the ten speed but had new motor put in as part of recall at 60,000km had trouble with injectors which were then recalled. Drives well and has no trouble now but holding my breathe waiting for the next thing to stuff up.

700kg in the back is nothing for them, I carry a large fuel tank for filling up machinery in the back of my Ranger and apart from a slightly higher centre of gravity you really don’t know the weight is there. 700kg barely even makes the suspension sag.

      T6. All of the PX range (1, 2 & 3) are T6.
Before the PX3 was released there was suggestion that the next model would be a T7 for the US release, but it wasn't the case & they got a variation on the T6 PX3

My 2019 Wildtrak has gaps under the side profile of the sports bar which should be sealed water tight against the top of the rear tub. The idiots at the factory have been fitting them incorrectly on literally hundreds of Wildtraks but when I raised the issue with Ford Australia, I've received every ridiculous excuse under the sun as to why the gaps are there, other than an admission that they actually stuffed up. If you stand at the rear wheels and look at the rear tip of the sports bar on the Wildtrak just above the rear lights and can see clear daylight between the two parts then you also have one of the hundreds of defected Wildtraks. Take it back to your dealer and demand a repair. The metalwork of the rear tub has been distorted upwards due to excess force being used to install some steel inserts which they use to bolt down the side profile of the sports bar. The net result is that side profile is then raised and can't seal properly on to the top of the tub.

    • @betternamechosen5678
      @betternamechosen5678 4 ปีที่แล้ว

That sucks! They've obviously fixed it because mine isn't like that. Ford are terrible to deal with when a vehicle is faulty.

I got a Ford Ranger 2.0 Bi-turbo auto as a family car a couple of weeks ago in Greece. I love this car so far, overall I have no issues with it. A few minor things annoyed me such as folding mirrors not working automatically as you lock-unlock the car, no led tail lights, front lights have different types of bulbs / shades of light, all indoor lightbulbs have warm light instead of led but nothing too major afaik. As far as durability is concerned, I have no indications that the vehicle wont last so far but this can only be proven over time.

I had a disaster with the 3.2 XLT I bought in 2015 - to the point where the whole ute was replaced under warranty in 2016. The replacement was flawless but I swore off Ford altogether and offloaded the replacement in 2018. Since then I've had other cars but on Monday I bought a Wildtrak. They have refined these things to near perfection and that 2.0L is a dream to drive.
