I will be sailing from Sydney up to the Whitsundays or further north this winter. It would be cool to meet you somewhere along the way.

Hi Simon, you seem to have a lot of sunglasses down below, and for the last 3 days in Melbourne it’s been about 38C

Hi Simon, Lovely stuff as usual Mate. Have you considered using some sort of sea-anchor off the end of the boom, poled out to one side to damp the rolling when you get caught out in an exposed anchorage? Hope your feet heal quick. Soldier on.

Michael, I have tried quite a few things over the years to dampen the rolling. The small Danforth with a few towels tied round the chain securely seam to do the trick but the rope chaffed through and I lost the lot rather an expensive experiment. I can not afford the weight nor space to carry a dedicated plopper stopper. If I get caught out in a exposed anchorage I set the anchor alarm on my Garmin 72, sleep on the floor beside the keel. My feet have healed up very nicely. Safe sailing regards Simon

@@simoncarteroz TH-cam channel "Free Range Sailing" were using a 20/25 Litre plastic drum with the top cut off "bucket" and a rope handle threaded through and hung that at just submerged from the end of the boom, you'd have to thimble the rope "handle" to stop wear there and where ever else needed. They're on a 30Ft Clansmen though which is a bit different to your boat.

@@michaelsimpson9779 They Clansman is 8ft beem long keel would role like a pig good luck to them if there 25 litre plastic drum work for them. My lockers are full up enough you have to remember every kg you put on board has to be lifted out the water to over come hull speed. When I was doing my apprenticeship in boat design they made use push a barrow up a hill with a bag of cement to simulate, how much more effort is needed to get the boat on the plane. It had a lasting impression on me regards Simon

When I was doing my 'apprenticeship ' in concreting I pushed plenty of wheelbarrows up a hill .... it simulated...pushing a wheelbarrow up a hill !!!! Thanks for Your video Simon. It is real life video of what I hope to do myself soon. I'm getting a little tried of the Southport Broadwater.
      All the best,
      Bud.
