Hi Stephanie ! I like the web 🕸 on the wall. Rachel Sweet is from Akron Ohio just like Chrissie Hynde from The Pretenders. Private Life is my favorite song on that terrific debut album. The inner sleeve photo of Elvis Costello on the diving board in Armed Forces was taken in my backyard. My Dad worked with Elvis & Nick Lowe & had them over one afternoon for a picnic & swim ! See Ya 😊
Hi David! I didn’t know Rachel Sweet was from Ohio! Now I’m definitely going down a research rabbit hole. Private Life is one of my favorites too! And wow, what’s all this cool info about your Dad? I’m so intrigued-how did all of that come about?
@djstephwest My Dad was an A&R guy from 1970 - 1988 & he worked for Columbia , Epic, MCA & RCA. He's mentioned in many industry books & biographies. He & Greg Geller & Dan Loggins ( Kenny's brother ) were the 3 CBS employees Elvis played an impromptu set for & his first album was already recorded & they signed him on the spot & got Nick as part of the deal. He had the same Manger , Jake Riviera.
@@davidellis5141 Wow, that s very coo!l Your dad must have some amazing stories from those years in the music industry. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
I took a day trip to the north Georgia mountains with a friend 30 or so years ago. He had dubbed George Winston "December" and that was the soundtrack for our drive. It's still a favorite. I saw him in 2016 and he performed a Doors song. I think it was "Riders on the Storm". Have a great week!
Interesting. Thanks for sharing your story. It’s amazing how albums can become so closely tied to memories in our lives. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!
I get it, Stephanie: I'm going through the same exercise with my vinyl currently as well. Best line: Rick James...this album means business! I agree! Some overlap here, and I have that Rachel Sweet also, along with her first LP. I should revisit those. Have a great week! 😎🎶 Ed.
Good video. I'm new to the VC. Posted my first video about 7 weeks ago. It's so hard to get rid of an album. My rule of thumb is how much you actually play it. If it hasn't been played in years and years then I say adios. That way you'll make room on your shelf for a record you will play more often. Cheers
Keep em all I say, can never have too many records, and you look fabulous as always ❤
Aww, thank you so much! 😊 I totally agree-there’s no such thing as too many records! 🎶

Always a pleasure, I would keep most except for one or two… I have 2 copies of Flashdance, brings back so many memories for me, can’t let go 😎🎶✌🏼
Thanks! 😊 Flashdance is such a classic If the great memory is there, don’t let it go. 😎

Aw heck just keep em all! 😂You never know when you might want to spin one!
Ha ha! Very true.
Another fine video, Steph! I think you made good choices. You also reminded me that I need to get Art of Noise into my collection!
Thanks Mark!

Thanks, Ed! It seems we share a lot of similar musical tastes. Wishing you an awesome week too.

Hi! I totally agree with you, If you don't love them, give them to someone who will.
The Pretenders LP is flawless. One of the best of the era.
Totally agree!
Enjoyed the video.
Thank you.
Several slam dunks in that pile, which makes it easier!
Yes, it was a good stack this time!
