Hi Stephanie. I really need to delighted my vinyl collection but I can't bring myself to part with any of my albums. I'm glad you decided to keep the XTC album.
Hi Steph! Jack at the Vinyl Voyage sent me your way. I'm in the middle of doing this with CDs. Quite liberating actually, cheers!
Nice video. As for Drums and Wires, that will remain in my collection even after I'm dead.
As a collector i understand its hard to get rid of any record but you cant keep them all , we need to make room for new ones!
I picked up a Screaming Blue Messiahs in Bangkok that's quite good ..I've enjoyed listening to your Swing Out Sister LP lately.. I get it with you purging it and other records. The Beat,or for us here in the US ,The English Beat..It's a keeper, for sure !
Hello again. I like Jonathan Richman too but jazz music makes me nervous. Ive seen Elvis Costello live here in Stockholm Concert house Vinylcomm. friend says TakeCare...
Imo the Cooper should stay ✌️ that album on CD I took everywhere in 1989
I like to predict which albums will stay and which will go before you say anything. I bet I'm at about 99% correct! Drums and Wires was the first XTC record I ever heard and it is still one of my favorites. I play Complicated Game a lot! You can never go wrong with classic Alice Cooper. You've made some great choices, Stephanie. I've really enjoyed these!
hey stephanie. for me i find a best of elvis costello does it for me. great xtc album. i think i only picked that up a few years ago after i saw the doc about them. worth watching if ya havent seen it. i love shriekback. first heard them in 1985. the tune nemesis. the video gave me nightmares. seriously. not familiar with yachts. will take a listen. i like that screaming blue album too. used to play the flintstones tune on my college radio show. only got the album maybe three yrs ago. good stuff here. cant argue with ones you’re ditching.
Hi Stephanie ! Like The Black 🌹 shirt & love Shriekback , XTC & Yachts. Donna was cool 😎
Welcome to another one of your new videos and I'm so glad to see your videos because I'm already weak to old things and I want to know a lot of things from your videos.
I am a new subscriber to your youtube channel and I really like your channel to see that you are letting people know about the old stuff and I love seeing the albums and I would like it to be seen by all the people on youtube I would be very happy to see it
Translator is interesting, I'll give it a listen ! I have two Japan LP's only.. I want more ! I agree with your keepers and what you're getting rid of.. Goonies soundtrack is a keeper !
Hi. Let me know what you think of Translator if you ever give it a listen. I was just told they’re from San Francisco. I think that Japan albums are hard to come by. Great that you have two!
I like Translator a lot. I streamed " Everywhere that I Am Not" and I hope to find their debut that you have sometime soon. I picked up Japan's Gentlmen Take Polaroids in Tokyo on our last trip over there !
Hi Stephanie! ✌️ thanks. Edit: Caddyshack 2 is no Caddyshack one, but it does have Robert Stack who i thought was great no matter what he did
Hi Dave! Everyone keeps telling me to skip Caddyshack 2, but I’ve been told I have bad taste in movies so maybe I should check it out. Robert Stack is a cool dude.
@@djstephwest do these same people watch a lot of Netflix and Hulu? 😁 Dan Aykroyd shoots himself in the buttocks with a crossbow, what more could you possibly want?

Nice video.! As a swede myself i would like H.R Giger to be from here. But he was from Switzerland. I
Hi! Thank you and thanks for clarifying that he was from Switzerland. 🙂
i got rid of my We Are the World a few months ago. I havent seen anyone show the producers
The Batman soundtrack? Throw it. 🦇
I wish I had the Batman soundtrack!
Nico, Chelsea Girl. Just picked it up recently!
Listening to a Ska/Two-Tone/Skinhead reggae mix cd my daughter made....she knows what dear old dad likes 👍👍👍
I love at least four Poi Dog Pondering songs. Living With The Dreaming Body, Spending The Day In The Shirt That You Wore, Complicated, Postcard From A Dream, and Toast And Jelly, are all great songs that might fit in a playlist with Camper Van Beethoven, Violent Femmes, Talking Heads or some quirky 80s indie stuff that would have been on the Burnt Dog Radio back in the day. My only hesitation with them is they seem to throw in some almost Christian songs occasionally. From my memory, they were a fun, indie, world beat, hippie group from Hawaii I think. I say Hawaii because Poi Dog in Hawaiian means mutt dog.
Cool, you know a lot about them. I have never heard of them before.
Love Kookoo ...Oasis, Inner City Spillover, Chrome. So raw and stripped down. It sounds like what it is Chic and Blondie imploding🥰
Necessary Evil was great too but hasn't been released on vinyl yet.
Wow, you must be a mega fan..your naming Debbie Harry albums I never knew existed. Thanks, I’ll have to check them out.
@@djstephwest yes ...LOVE her!
@@djstephwest Blondie just cancelled the rest of the US tour. It must be Debbie related ...hope she's okay😅
@@allyoopopp I saw her at the Cruel World festival around two years ago and she seemed to be ok. Yes, hope she is OK.
❤ 🚀 💥
Missing Persons and Cattac.
I was listening to "Kimberly Austin" from their 2nd album earlier today. We need a new PfP album!!!
Majority for the thrift/charity shop imo
There is not enough New Jack Swing in the VC. Love that 12 inch single by Al B Sure. Great song. Happy spinning.
I agree. Love New Jack Swing!
Thanks for the Kings (never heard of) There is a recordshop here in Stockholm called "Beat goes on" actually, VC friend says takecare...
That’s a great name for a record shop. 😁
Keep the KINGS. Trash everything else.
You're doing a great job sorting out your records. I endorse all these decisions! I've not seen Caddyshack II, but something tells me I'm not missing anything.
Thanks Mark.
I have that cd! Love it.
Translator were one of many good bands on the San Francisco based 415 label run by Howie Kline. Romeo Void , Red Rockers & Wire Train all put out excellent albums in the early 80's on 415.
Geez, David, you sure know a lot about these bands! I’ll have to do some research on Howie Kline & the 415 label. I know I have some Romeo Void wire train and Red Rockers albums. If you watch my videos, you’ll see them eventually!
Hi Stephanie 👋 ! - Should you ever come across a Dead Kennedys album of Frankenchrist with the Giger poster included you should buy it , it's very collectible !
I haven’t come across any dead Kennedys, but I would definitely pick it up if I saw it!
Translator was one of those great underappreciated band from the Bay Area -for most known only by the hit" everywhere that I'm not". Glad you showed some love for the deeper cuts! It is a great album through and through. BTW HR Geiger is famously known for being the conceptual artist behind Ridley Scott movie alien. And many other films. Continued luck with the move to downsize!
Thanks. I didnt know that. The ending scene when Sigourney Weaver faces off with the alien was terrifying!. 😱 Great movie!
HR Giger is dude who designed the aliens for the movie Alien. I hated hated hated Walking on Sunshine. Even when it was released. You dont wanna see Caddyshack 2. Trust me. I know one tune by Producers I remember liking. I think it was called “Whats he Got.” Really dig your wall behind you.
That’s funny, I just watched Alien last month. What a great movie! As for Caddyshack 2, the consensus among the vinyl community is to skip it. lol
you are red hot
Yahoo is cool, a little surprised your getting rid of john waite
Its always hard to get rid of albums no matter what TBE situation is. But it looks like you made the right choice s
I can only think of about 10% of my albums that I would get rid of due to content or damage. But I'd copy all of them into computer files before unloading them.
They want $40 for the Best of Blondie now and it's not even the UK version with bonus tracks and poster.
That’s insane!
Totally agree on keeping that Missing Persons and U2. I love early U2 and that MP is like a greatest hits. When I was in high school they always had tv ads for the Slim Whitman greatest hits. Not a fan lol. Fun video!
Slim is 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Never get rid of slim!!
Nice hangover choice. ✌️
Yep. That's a good motto: "somebody else out there will appreciate it". Yes send them back into the wild! However, watching the last several videos I'm not sure you've lightened your moving load very much lol. It speaks to what you've chosen to pick up over the years! Things you would like to keep :-). Again, you've chosen wisely. I've always loved the track "Seconds" off of Dare. It hits me. Oh, and the the Will be playing up here at the Fox in Oakland! Pretty cool. Good luck with the ongoing process of th the herd!
Send them back into the wild! Ha, I love that. Yep, not lightening the load much, I'm afraid. If I can get rid of anything I don' listen to, that will be progress. "Seconds" by Human League has some really nice synth work! It would be great see The The-thanks for the heads up. I don't get to see live shows much these days. Have a great weekend!
The the are one of my favorites. Mind Bomb and Dusk are the two I can’t live without.
Aren't The The great? You have good taste!
Sweet Bird Of Truth used to creep me out.. the video is creepy too. What a voice MJ has though!
I've never seen that Yazoo 12" - on Mute, no less!
Me neither. Not even sure if I own any other records on Mute. Worth a check.
Great video Steph❤...and thx 4 subscribed❤.....i like that format👍
Thank you! 🤘
I bought a lot of my used albums at Streetlight Records on Bascom Avenue in San Jose back in the 80's when the store was in a little house and the owner's name was Stretch. I bought many albums for 2 - 4 dollars back the and now these albums are worth 40-50 dollars each.
That’s the same Streetlight Records I’m talking about! I used to shop there all the time circa “97-‘99. Loved that shop.
I love that song “Dear God” off the Midge Ure album. I really am not familiar with any of the other songs. I do love his voice though. Loved seeing that Members album. URGH a music war was a great rock doc/movie. I have the soundtrack on vinyl. I was introduced to so many great bands from that movie. Great stuff, Stephanie.
Thanks, @mamabearvinyl! I completely forgot about "Dear God" until you mentioned it. The Members album is one of my favorites, and "URGH! A Music War" is definitely one of the best rock documentaries out there. The soundtrack introduced me to some fantastic bands too. Thanks for watching, and have a great weekend!
Slim Whitman...pass. Cringe worthy, and I like old country. Lol. The 80s were kinda hit and miss for me, music wise. But I'm an old man who got into music in the late 60s. I'm 67, which explains alot. Great video.
Hi @StonersStashbox. I agree, I thought Whitman sounded a little cringe worthy. It's going back out into the wild. lol. Have a nice weekend.
@@StonersStashbox Whitman is fire. Way better than Elvis.
