Yo Gabe I'm from Houston, TX I used to prep and paint here & there for the painter when he shows up late or is on lunch and just got sent to another shop the company I work for owns to become the new painter there. Just so ya know your videos really do help alot especially yours videos on blends. I had no idea how to blend not too long ago. YOU taught me how to more than the painter I was prepping for lol. Thanks a lot
Your videos have really helped me thru a bumpy solvent to water transition. Thank you for taking the time- I will be studying your work for a long time to come. Keep up the fantastic work- you are helping a lot of people.
I really enjoy your videos and you provide great assistance with this product. I’ve always spray my colors on very wet. I feel it creates a better smoother surface before clear. I’m always tempted to clear without a control coat because of how the base looks but I always still follow my control coat process. It differs from your double control technique. I do a very slow overlap with a quarter to half squeeze of the trigger to limit material coming out. It’s more feel than anything depending on color. I’ve been using envirobase for 10 years and I have excellent results. I get bored and your videos are definitely motivating for this product. I just got the rapidmatch spectrophotometer xi that I use readily. I’m really impressed with the results.
Gabe, thanks to you, I broke down and bought a stat gun. I ended up getting the Dent Fix unit which looks just like the AC Neutralizer brand, the first stat gun you used. Getting great results with it, I mean really nice jobs straight out of the booth. Firm believer in investing in yourself when in the trade. Always striving for 100%. Enjoy your videos, finally subscribed.
Thanks for the video, I’ve had trouble with silvers but I think you’ve straightened me out I’ve never sprayed at 25 that’s what I will try I was around 16 and control less than that thank you!
I like your new technique first coat heavy with low pressure that’s technique u save one or two coat specially for silver and grey colour PPG paint really u r smart And professor painter 👍👍👍👍👍💯
I use nothing but microfibers because of you now. Another awesome thing about the micro fibers is for a while with new fenders and such, being new they always have sharp pieces of metal or rough edges , my tack cloth would always get caught and leave behind pieces of cloth but with a micro it nearly never happens. Nothing annoys me more than having a smooth nice paint job but then your enjoyment comes to a hault because of some crap in your paint job.
What is your best trick to control blotchy hood The color I had trouble with is Audi LZ7S Reduced it10 percent Pounded 1st coat at 15 psi 2nd coat at 25 psi still at 10 percent reduction looked ok Put wet bed over the top Reduced control coat at 20 Double control After clearing had some model What would you suggest more coverage before I control ? More reduction of the control? Move faster with more overlap and closer to the panel with control Or higher psi with control Or lower with control Using Walcom 1.2 hvlp Carbino
I would recommend getting a Carbonio hte 1.3 but if that's not an option get better coverage get the color looking almost perfect before the double control coat. And reduce to 30% after your first coat
Sorry my friend I cannot because I don't spray solvent. Try everything open at first then start to close little by little and see where it sprays the best
Hey brother! Most of the time is the gun and not enough coverage. Try to get a little further from the panel. Check out my silver playlist it will help I promise
Hi Gabe, was the wet bed still tacky when you sprayed 25psi blend coat on top? Looks like you dried it. I thought it had to be wet or at least tacky to prevent halo. Thx / John
Nice vid. Love it. Does anyone know about adding thinners to clear? Lets say 1:1 ratio clear. So 50% clear, 50% hardener and +10% thinner. But do you mix like this or u have compensate the thinner with hardener? Like 50% clear, 52% hardener, 10% thinner. I'm a bit confused lol.
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS thanks. Saw some other videos u done. And I was impressed. U have knowledge for sure bruh. I kinda wanna paint my 3 cars soon. And have one more question that maybe u would know as a painter. Here in EU we have different kinda paint ant clear products u know and I would like to give a try for Anti Scratch Clear, but still dont get it, why AS Clear always like 20% less cost instead of standart clear.. Are they a scam or hard to apply or what? I thing it should cost more than standart. Have u ever tried one of those?

@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS id like to buy this walcom blower from you.... I live in norway and we need to pay 25% tax on import over 34£ + 15£ tax overlay... I dont mind the price in your website but is it possible to either buy this outside the website or put maximum 30£ price on shipping label incl shipment:)?
MOTIVATED PAINTERS I gave it a go, very impressed. Thank you mate 👊🏽 also does your clear coat ever suck in at all after bake? Do you put hardener in the base coat at all?
Not on the base coat but ppg has a modifier that is supposed to be like a hardener for waterbase. Sometimes a to long of a bake can course the punching
God forgives i don't just kidding gabe 😉 i can never get mad at you btw i might have a spraygun that you could review / test the finixa spg 800 its a lvlp sprays pretty good for 130 euros the only down side is that the fan is a little smaller but that takes some getting used to
Gabe can you help me please.i work in North East scotland ,i,ve never spoke to a paint rep in 20 years.i use max Meyer water based paint.can I use 063 or 160 as a blend spray out..No one will help me ,thanks

Awesome to hear I have helped !!!👌👍👍
should I also reduce the fluid trigger until the last control coat ?
Beautiful work. Can not afford those guns yet but where did the gauge come from? Looking at your pearl vid next.
I have more affordable guns that come with digital gauge coming next week!! Motivatedpainters.com
This was good timing for me, I have a 1F7 (Toyota) which is just like the B12 you just sprayed.
Awesome!!!!🤪
Painting on the black color is wrong
First, a color primer grey
The black color reflects shade on the rest of the colors
hi gabe what is your mixing ratio for your sealer? you are the paint master my friend!!
3:1:1 for ppg sealer
great blend !
Thanks !
What is your best trick to control blotchy hood
The color I had trouble with is Audi
LZ7S
Reduced it10 percent
Pounded 1st coat at 15 psi
2nd coat at 25 psi still at 10 percent reduction looked ok
Put wet bed over the top
Reduced control coat at 20
Double control
After clearing had some model
What would you suggest more coverage before I control ?

It is an option
I have the HTE
I will give it a go
Some of these metalics can kick your butt
Thanks for the tip
Absolutely!!!
So thanks Gabe. You have awesome advice
How often do you switch the micro fibers that you clean and tack with???
Once or twice A WEEK!🙌
Had the static gun made a great improvment
Hi I have gti pro lite and i wondered if you can tell me what is the best setup for solvent base
Sorry my friend I cannot because I don't spray solvent. Try everything open at first then start to close little by little and see where it sprays the best
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS ok thanks😉
Any idea of why my first coat come out like splotchy like you can see every pass that I do? Specially in hoods?

Dry but not super dry just blew it so it wasn't shiny and shoot

The best advice is follow what the company recommends they usually have mixing ratios in the websites.

I don't think there is such a clear that is anti scratch I don't recommend it
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS thanks for advice. Well its technology I guess which makes clear become more scratch ressistant haha. Thanks again
Gabe what is in the yellow can that you spray on your spry out card and what brand light is that?
It's called quick check
Do you prefer a 1.3 tip for sealer? And what psi?
Yeah 30psi
Hi Gabe, what is the set up u have on the base gun?
Wide open fan fluid pretty much wide open and 25 psi
1.3

What size 3m pps adapter should i buy for 360 wolcom carbonio. Thanks
S9 😁
Curious as to what makes you spray clear at 33psi instead of 29?
To me I like the automation at that psi breaks down the material very fine giving me a smoother finish

85🤪

What spray gun is that ?
Matco
would this method of spraying ppg base work the same with cromax waterbase?
No idea but only one was to find out !
When u make first coat bland door your gun still 15 psi or u shoot by 25 psi because the voice gun like 25 psi
