Nice Job Gabriel! Got a silver to paint myself soon, not looking forward to it after hearing from so many painters that it is quite possibly one of the hardest colours to paint right, but your videos on silvers are giving me a bit of hope! Thankyou :D
I use the envirobase and a sata 5500 gun ..... the way we were taught was turn the needle out one full turn from fully in and at 1.1bar then spray the last coat (technique coat) .... but I was sure there was other methods ..... good channel bro and you must have a great booth for not having to plastic off the back of the car for overspray
hey I like your videos even though I paint with axalta chromax pro... that code is 38p by the way. I find it looks long and complicated with ppg. with chromax it's 1 and a half coats wet on wet and done and clear is 2 coats wet on wet so basically you go in the paintshop twice...
+jeffrey thornton yeah it seems to be simpler with axalta , never sprayed it yet. We use ppg here so that's what I make the videos on 😀 I really like the color matching on ppg personally. Thanks for the support maN!!!!!
Hey Gabe! do you ever use one of these various blending products (which are basicly transparent basecoats) that are supposed to help the metallics to orientate more evenly? I think that silver is less tricky if it's laid into a wet bed. To prevent swirls and such it sometimes requires fanning out so far that the coat goes down too dry. Great vid! :)
+Chuck Thomas hey brother !!! Yes sometimes I do! Like on this video th-cam.com/video/US5oCRC2D20/w-d-xo.html but I have found that if you use good gun control it's not necessary but sometimes it doesn't help 😀😀😀
Hey Gabe. Love your videos. I am a new painter and the tips have been very helpful. Can you do a video on finding the sweet spot when spraying clear coat with any gun. That would have a lot. Keep up the great work!
Hey mate great video as always, what sealer are u using? Have issues here both with deltron solvent and envirobase laying down chunky or grainy over our sealer, Never had issues like this in the past but now at a ppg shop it’s a big struggle, the sealer and base are the worst of enemy’s rather than best of friends?
Hey buddy!!! Awesome channel. I have 2 questions bud! How much trigger do you usually use on your tekna Pro-Lite spray gun for your silver base coats or any base coat and how much trigger for your clear gun? I have the same clear gun and I love it but when I heard you spray st 35 psi I was like woah! The most I have used mine is 29 psi but I see your freaking awesome at what you do and I want to experiment with your tips bro 🧡🧡🧡
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS thank you bro! I tried my clear gun at 35 pounds and I was amazed how every job came out !! Your freaken awesome man! I will keep watching your videos !! I just ordered a tekna too! Currently using entech 1.3 love it but always willing to experiment ;)
So would the pressure stay the same also.. another quick one.. if I'm doing double drop so rite after the first you go at it again ur.. n correct me if I'm wrong is it 75 % overlap on base. N then clear coat also the same thanks so much..
hey Gabriel thanks for taking the time to do all these great videos. I have a question.Second coat of clear, do you wait a few minutes before baking it?or do you bake it right away?thanks.
Nice vid! Man details details! Make in my opinion great vids for newbies like myself. Appreciate you. explaining everything like sealer, gun in use w/ psi settings👍. BTW whats spray mask?
+Vasilis Karadimos hey I currently don't use my prolite for base! I'm not a big fan of it for base. But I would use the same settings I have on it now te20 cap 1.3 😀
Hi Gabe is that masking paper or plastic? The blue material you use to cover. All I have access to here where I live is butcher paper or newspaper. What do you recommend. Thanks brother
+P3mpi hey brother thank you very much you should pay attention to your gun see if its dirty stripes are not so much created by the overlap but by the fan of the gun and not enough coverage. I try to do 75%
+Victor Ramirez it's a sata vision fresh air mask is think it's the only way anyone should be painting so it's connected to an airline with the three stage filter
thats what i call over spray dude,,i thought i needed three layers with ppg,, 2 wet and one last medium...im telling you standox, spies hecker is the future in basecoats,,,,for you americans chromax is wonderfull waterbase color..but i work with ppg for a week now and its kinda difficult
Hey Mr. consistent Gabe, when you do your double control coat does it feel like overspray or a bit sandy to the touch? do you put another coat of silver after or straight to clear.?
+redbach23 haha that's like the ultimate compliment! Yeah it's going to feel a bit grainy , the control coat should be your last coat of base before clear.
You should cover plastic the whole car, the rear is not cover, otherwise your rear over spray and good luck you polish whole thing at the back and clean all over spray.
I learned a lot man and you're a good teacher. I'm getting a crash course this evening. Thanks for putting this video together.
Amazing! Thank you!
I wish it was as easy as you make it look. Lots of take away tips there. Great job. Thanks
+Dave Sage haha it is!!!! Just keep trying!! 😀 hope the videos helps!!!!

+Kent Buehrer wow that means so much to me thank you thank you!!!!!!!!

You can also do a reverse blend and it makes a huge difference only do this with silver.
Great video Gabe! A lot of good info and talk-through. Thanks!
+Mike Mccloskey thank you!!!!!
Great job man. Awesome video as well. New to the Water based world
Hope they help !
Have you done a video on tinting and matching paint? I need to learn that
I use the envirobase and a sata 5500 gun ..... the way we were taught was turn the needle out one full turn from fully in and at 1.1bar then spray the last coat (technique coat) .... but I was sure there was other methods ..... good channel bro and you must have a great booth for not having to plastic off the back of the car for overspray
The car has spray mask 🤙🏼

With Tekna you don't need to spray at higher than 29 that's fine I usually have the trigger wide open just turn a little bit in like one turn
Super good video Gabe good stuff... hey say for spraying water vs solvent to do control coats.. would you go bout it same idea ur is bit different
Honestly I would do them the same way! But I don't spray solvent so I'm not the greatest
So would the pressure stay the same also.. another quick one.. if I'm doing double drop so rite after the first you go at it again ur.. n correct me if I'm wrong is it 75 % overlap on base. N then clear coat also the same thanks so much..

Hi Gabriel...super video as always...which is your gun setings on the pro lite for base?
+Vasilis Karadimos hey I currently don't use my prolite for base! I'm not a big fan of it for base. But I would use the same settings I have on it now te20 cap 1.3 😀
MOTIVATED PAINTERS Dont you paint with the prolite on this video?Sorry if i am wrong...i mean settings at fun and fluid...

MOTIVATED PAINTERS thank you very much my friend
Great vid mate. How much overlap do you use when spraying the hood? Sometimes a i get stripes
+P3mpi hey brother thank you very much you should pay attention to your gun see if its dirty stripes are not so much created by the overlap but by the fan of the gun and not enough coverage. I try to do 75%
