    I have the Meta charging dock so I should probably get the Kiwi Standard Battery Strap. Right now I am using the BoBo M3 but I think I might be better off with the Kiwi design when I use a workout app. I find the BoBo is a little loose when I am moving a lot.

    What happens if you plug a usb c Bluetooth dongle like the creative bt-w5 into the usb c port on the battery strap? I'm looking for a way to use low latency earbuds with the quest

    Hi, which charger do you recommend to power the kiwi RGB tower which in turn charges the Quest 3 and the battery strap? Currently I use the official 18W but I’m not sure that is the right way

      I've been using the official charger, but I've also tried several 3rd party chargers without any issues. The official charger works well and I think this is the one that you are recommended to use by the manufacturer.

    I have this headset, but it does not have the magnet on the charging cable.

    Hi mate, I've been using a powerbank from INUI, got it off Amazon £30 odd quid. I'm getting 10 hours out of it before your then onto the 2 hours of the headset battery.

      @francomasuello yeah mate, I just put it in my jeans pocket whilst I use it. You'll get too tired before it runs out:).
      INIU power bank.
      I use an Ainope fast charge and data right angle USB C to C cable with it.

      Definitely a very good value way to extend the battery. Do you use the default headstrap or have you a 3rd party one?

      @VRLowdown Hi my mate, I've only had the Quest 3 for 5 days so still using the default. To be honest I find it fine.
      I was expecting it to be horrible as I noticed lots of folks on TH-cam changing theirs, but honestly I think it's fine.
      Hope your doing well mate?

      @@maydaygoingdown5602 sounds good, could you tell me what one you bought? 20000 mAh? and how it works? in pocket connected to charging port of head set? and that drains before the headset battery? was the cable a 240w USB C TO USB C right angled? I Like you find the suplied strap ok, just a power concern for me, find alll these options a bit confusing lol. apreciate any advice/help and especially a reply, Cheers in advance!

    I don't see how 5V 3A output can keep up with the Q3 power usage, depending on what you are playing. To date I have never heard of anyone being able to do that with a 5V output only.

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      5V 3A will deliver up to 15W power. Quest 3 power use under load ranges from about 7.5-12W, so this is plenty to ensure it stays charged. I've heard some other people report higher power draw, but I'd question the accuracy. Q3 has a 18.88 Wh battery, and average battery life is 1.7-2.2 hours depending on activity, so this fits with the likely power draw figures. I should add that I'm not an electrical engineer, so I'll appreciate being corrected if I'm totally wrong, lol.

      @@VRLowdown The Aubika battery headstrap has a maximum output of 18W, but it struggles to keep up with the power needs of the Q3 headset, especially when using the MR feature. I contacted Aubika customer support and they confirmed that the headstrap's power is insufficient to charge the headset while it's in use. The headstrap is designed to extend the battery life of the headset, not to charge it while it's being used.

    I'm actually so annoyed that Kiwi released this so shortly after the regular battery strap without notice, I would have held out and bought the SPC instead.
    I ordered the Kiwi Stand regardless, but that was a month ago and my package has been lost in the Royal Mail for ages now.

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's really disappointing. Using the stand with the regular strap is OK, but nowhere near as good. I was using the stand for about a month with my official Elite Strap with battery before the SPC strap arrived, so I know how you feel.

    how does this compare to bobo vr m3 pro?

      Also curious. I ordered a bobo M3 close to 2 weeks ago and now i'm questioning my decision.

      basically if u mostly play games where u sit down, go for bobo, but if you play more active games (beat saber, gorilla tag etc.) go for kiwi. but be aware that some ppl have problems with the bobo batteries cuz thei're not optimized for the quest 3's power demands. this is at least what my research has led me to but i advise that you do your own aswell:)

      M3 is fine. Playing Pistol Whip with no issues, battery magnets are very strong. You can have a whine when both, battery and headset, are fully charged. Big advantage is, you can run the Quest 3 while your M3 battery is charging or have a second one and swap them when one runs out of juice. It is not too weak to charge the Quest, never experienced that.

      I haven't tried the BOBOVR M3 but I've heard plenty of good things. I'll try to get hold of one and do a comparison.

      Thanks for the info. It seems a lot of these addons come down to preference. There seems to be no definitive winner but i am worrying about the battery whine i've seen more than one person mention on the BOBOVR. But as long as it's not immersion breaking while actually gaming i'll be happy.

    for maximum comfort i'd highly recommend a bobo vr m3 with a battery. yes, the one that everyone recommends. it truly is the best headstrap design, especially with a battery as it acts as a counter weight on your head and it's super comfy. elite straps are pretty nice and lightweight, but without anything to counter balance the headset it puts a lot of pressure on your face. all in all, maximum comfort go for bobo vr, if you're doing a lot of fitness and moving around a lot go for any elite strap design.

      BOBO VR just launched the S3 Pro strap. Bit more expensive but looks fantastic.

    Video looks like a paid advertisement to me... The headstrap with a battery has only 6,400 mAh and only adds 2 hours of game time, and on top of that it is terribly heavy... I recommend a regular kiwi headstrap and a 20,000 mAh powerbank for $40 and I promise you will be happier than from headstrap with a battery

      No payment and my own opinion, but I was sent the headstrap for free, so not totally impartial. Your solution is a good one for some people, but not for everyone.
