Something that wasn't immediately clear to me: This dock won't work with other third party battery headstraps. It'll work with the stock quest, it'll work with any strap that doesn't have a battery, and it'll work with the Kiwi strap mentioned in this video. According to the website, this dock is compatible with the Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro. Wasn't able to try those devices with it, but it's worth mentioning.
An attractive all-in-one solution. Unfortunately, there is no information about the dimensions on the homepage. Could someone please help me find out how much space the combination of headstrap and charging station with controllers has, i.e. width, depth and height? What is the height of the rear holder of the headstrap and would you have to add this if you wanted to put them together on a shelf?
Eyeballing it, I'd guess it's about 17 inches tall with the headset on it, and 6 or 7 inches wide. But I'm not able to measure it at the moment. It's boxed up and buried, waiting for the giveaway in February.
I kind of agree with you. But at the end of the day you WILL need to use the usb charging port, if you want to use the quest for a few hours. I think the 3 pin charging system is practically useless, since you cannot charge the headset via these pins during use. And you will need to charge your headset al the time during use, unless you only use it short duration.
Speaking of straps, I have the BoboVR S3 now and, for me, there's just no competition comfort-wise: the Bobo S3 is lightyears beyond. Add to that the new Bobo battery and there's no contest. I'm grateful that Kiwi included a little adapter so I can use the dock with other headstraps, though I REALLY wish it was a passthrough adapter. Still, it's not a deal breaker for me. So, I'll be keeping my Kiwi stand, but I'll probably be giving my Kiwi (and other) headstraps away to friends and family. I just spent the last 30 minutes testing them all again and I'm more convinced than ever the the Bobo S3 is the one for me. But to stay somewhat on point, the Kiwi RGB Stand is great. I use grip covers for the remotes so it's hard enough to find a way to automatically charge them. I am just using rechargeable batteries that are stationed near my VR set-up and I change them as needed.
I think kiwi has the best working designs for the quest series. I think bobo is over rated. I bought the metas charging dock for the quest 3. I got home, and it didn’t work… It charged the controllers, but not the headset. I got so pissed off! I took it back the next day, and got my money back. That was yesterday. I will be buying this kiwi charging dock, and more of their accessories. Great Video!
Dude! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. You nailed my major complaint perfectly. ENOUGH WITH THE CABLES. Thank you for this recommendation. I really appreciate everything you stated.
Strange. I bought the KIWI head strap and docking station independently. But my head strap does NOT have this dual magnetic connector, which means that I cannot charge both the quest 3 and the head strap at the same time. This is the major aspect being advertised in the video. Do other people have the same issue?
I don't know why I'm just now seeing this. Does your head strap have a built in battery? It's been a while, but I think only that headstrap comes with that elbow connector built in. Otherwise you'd have to use the magnetic attachment that include in the dock.
Looks great! I just don't see an extra pass-through USB-C port in their little magnetic thingy. So using the BoboVR would really all that great if you still have to plug in out the Bobo cable and insert their magnetic dock adapter thingy each time you want to charge it, right?
@@bringhurstvr that’s unfortunate… also makes me realize that for the 7 people in the world using Link instead of AirLink (i am one of them) this is also very inconvenient

@@jayjayp9618 Metas battery headstrap is uniquely built for charging alongside the Quest, so much so that third party headstraps can't guarantee the dock will charge their Headstraps because of software limitations.
