Hi guys, I am a proud owner of Vento Highline. Got a second hand one from Kolkata. I am from Hubli in Karnataka. 2014 cost me 2.8 L which had run 63000 km. As per showroom records. Mileage within city with A/c is around 18- 20 and highways between 25- 28. Very very satisfied. Would certainly recommend for a second hand buy. Build quality is awsome. Comes with airbags and abs. Very safe car. Not to bother about service cost and spares. You hardly get to replace any. Good buy indeed. Go for it.

I have vento diesel 2012 model, I calculate top to top tank mileage, it's giving 21 on highway(long route 200 km) and 15 in city
I love the vento but I know that it costs a lot for maintenance. Of course it's ₹ 10000 to ₹15000 once a year because it uses synthetic oil instead of mineral oil that's why the supreme performance and high service costs and not to mention that spare parts are costly as hell compared to its Indian, Japanese or Korean counterparts because they are not locally produced like Ford does these days. Plus this is a car which should only be given to an expert mechanic to fix or mostly the official service centre because not all mechanics can fix this car . See in India mechanics don't touch anything other than Indian , Japanese or Korean cars because they are less complex and simple to fix but the Germans , for that you need a trusted knowledgeable experienced mechanic. Someone who also won't rip you off your hard earned money. And most importantly avoid the DSG gearbox variant and the Diesel variants because the DSG was fun but not known for reliability as it costs ₹ 1.5lakhs to completely replace it if it goes wrong .
The Diesel engine becomes noisy in long run and requires even more maintenance afterwards. My friend had one ,she sold it afterwards with a heavy heart and brought a used Honda civic afterwards .
So yes go for the petrol variant or the simple Automatic variant not the DSG. If you can afford to maintain it because you might get one for a mouth watering price in used car market since it has very low resale value but if it drains you of all your hard earned money then what's the point of it?

Good review. Unfortunately, dealerships and service centers are killing VW worldwide. Except Europe. However, being an owner of VW i will say best built and engineered car. DSG gearbox cars reported some issues. But those all are result of improper maintenance. It's DSG need specific oil and has to be changed as per schedule if not bit earlier. Otherwise very intelligent gearbox.
I am surprised Skoda is more desirable than VW in India. But they are same cara in reality. Skoda is cheaper version of VW in Europe. Too much noise.

my polo tdi 1.2 has given me 31kmpl when driven with loght foot in best driving conditions. i have driven from pine to mumbai in total 183 km in 4 hours. vw product are awesome for ride quality and superior build quality. only negative is maintenance and service cost.

Brother VW does have used car section named as das welt. You need to visit respective VW dealer in your city to know about the same. They charge little bit high but their car comes with warranty. So I guess, you can take that risk of buying it slightly overpriced😀. Do Subscribe for more updates 👍

No, 4.5 lakh is way too much. Being almost 10 years old + Petrol engine its price should be 2.5 Lakh max.
Last year I purchased 2012 Vento diesel for only 3.2 Lakh and I haven't faced any problem regarding AC however I regularly service the car.
