I'm planning on buying a 2015 used VW vento TDI with 7speed DSG. The car has only been driven for 20,000kms. Do you think I should go for it ? When do you think I'll be facing problems with the gearbox? Thank you!
Dsg is basically a robotic gearbox. You can never predict when it'll start to give problems. I've seen gearboxes completely going out at around the 40000km mark. On the other hand I've also seen some examples going good at about 70000km trouble free. But then again, the Complaints have heavily outnumbered the positive feedback. I'd rather stay away from this DSG gearbox.

Car Master what is service cost comes for you as today i guess 60000 km close to driven compare to 35000 km almost 2 years back.This german car has lots of sensor along with advance electronic sensors so no chance of service outside the showroom workshop or have you tried from outside service center.
This was an owner's car, not mine. But till now the service cost hasn't exceeded 12k. Although I'm not sure about the Km covered now.
Hi, Skoda rapid 1.6L MPI style variant(top variant at that time) manual 2018 registered car with 55,000 odometer reading ..asking 5.7 lakhs..is it a good buy?

Owning one for 5 years - better to avoid those which have been diesel gate fixed. Constant issues since the update was pushed in. Other issue is with injectors - which are unreliable like hell. EGR needs to be cleaned regularly to avoid it going kaput.

Its generally easy to maintain, if you opt for the manual. DSG variants are best avoided. Manuals are almost at par with Civic, although considerably more expensive to maintain than the Corolla and Elantra.

You can. But keep in mind that the kit unit will not be serviced by VW and the company doesn't recommend this as well. But aftermarket kits are surely available for Vento.

Its a great engine bro , you can surely drive it and buy it
VW Vento lacks some features but still provides features which are useful for daily drive. Also it comes with dsg gearbox , technology seen in cars thrice the price of C segments cars leaving behind competition whic still uses jerky AMT's , Torque converters and CVT's.
If anyone loves driving, Vento is the one to go for. Servicing is bit on higher side but stil its either 15k km or 1 year.
Bento is undoubtedly a wonderful car.

Bring the price down a bit. Insurance is expensive these days. Moreover you are buying a SOON TO BE REPLACED MODEL which will share virtually nothing with the replacement model.

Vento is almost 2 generations older than the other mentioned models. Also, it is being discontinued now.

Ciaz he le lijiye. Ya fir Vento ke liye 2021-22 tk wait kar lijiye. Engine bhi new hai, spares ki dikkat nahi hogi. Or Gaadi around 90 percent localized hogi. To maintenance bhi sasti hogi. I'd recommend to wait, or go for Verna.

Overly expensive. Pay no more than around 40-45% value of the car.

It's a good deal. But keep in mind the car is valid only for 3 years more practically. Because this year is old by 7 months. 5 months of this year, and then in 2022-23, registration will expire due to 10 year diesel rule.

Hey! Since you've bought the vehicle, there's no point in criticizing it now. But one thing is certain, the price you paid is quite high. It should have been between 6-6.5 Lakh Rupees, depending on whether it is a petrol or a diesel variant.

Why not vento TSI with DSG?
DSG gearbox is the culprit here. Its unreliable, problematic and gives nightmarish repair bills.

But ride, build, comfort are brilliant. It has its cons though, major ones.
