  • The 2022 BYD Dolphin, the little car with a BIG HEART
My first experience with fully electric vehicles is when I purchased my Renault Twizy. It was fun, it was cute, it was fast .... but it was not practical. So, I kind of developed a phobia with them...
But then.... The Dolphin comes along ... and I can tell you that this little beast is an EYE OPENER, The BYD Dolphin has everything you need for a city commuter car. It's nimble enough to slip through Manila's crazy traffic, SMALL enough to make it easy to find parking and with a 400km range... you will not have any excuse to run out of juice when zipping in an out of meetings and errands.
Please enjoy this video .... and contact BYD Philippines to see this amazing Electric Vehicle.
    BYD Makati
1702 Dian Street corner Gil Puyat Ave,

In addition to EVs, BYD also manufacture semiconductors for the auto industry (BYD Semiconductors), railway equipment and even batteries.
They also have joint ventures with Nissan and Daimler/Mercedes-Benz under two different brands of EVs, targeting different market segments.

I own a 3 wheeled electronic trike..I sold my van years ago and never regretted it now, after over 3 years, the only expense I incurred was buying new batteries. That was it . Once every 5 or six months I replenish the gear oil of the electric motor ..
I have watched so many TH-cam electric vehicles and only BYD soothes my taste on electric vehicles.. Am glad it's in the Philippines now..however, I can't afford it. I can only admire it..thanks for sharing it on TH-cam..

I am one of the lucky few na nabiyayaan ng company ko to have this as my fleet car. I got it a few weeks ago. It's so fun to drive, good torque for it's size, great suspension, and surprisingly roomy despite the relatively small exterior. Agree na commuter car siya, based solely on the fact na onting-onti palang ang EV charging stations sa pilipinas, but for car performance per se, such a great car. Kaming 6 na pilot batch to receive it, wala pang reklamo so far.

I'm driving pretty much in urban roads and the advertised 427 kms distance is spot on. Super roomy interior for such a compact hatchback. It also comes with heat pump which comes handy when winter comes in EU. Tons of charging stations around and it's cheaper to run for sure. The Mrs was so impressed that she's thinking of trading her petrol car sooner, so far soooo good! 👌. Ganda ng video mo, more power po sir.

Why do I say that the mark up is 100%, I just found out that ASEAN and China has a zero import tariff agreement. In short, no VAT, no tariff. The distributor is only paying for the freight and transpo insurance... If BYD lowers the price, more people will buy their products... I'm thinking of getting the Yuan Plus/atto3.

I haven’t watched the whole video. The problem in the Phils is that the country needs to improve on the infrastructure. I was born there, lived there and have visit recently and brown outs is still a problem. How does one charge their EV when there’s no electricity. Many I know have multiple cars however if you are not able to take your EV any time you want to because of charging issues🤷🏼‍♀️ I have an EV I live in CA and although I have FREE unlimited charging in many of the stations and there’s quite plentiful here in the Bay Area, I have a level 2 installed in my garage. Nothing like driving home from work, plug, wake up, unplug and drive off. Esp that gasoline is $6+ per gallon currently.
Are there charging stations ubiquitous in the Phils? At the very least within Metro Manila?
Cute car btw, really cute. Nice styling. Perfect for college students. Not a family car for sure. Def made for Asian market due to lack of leg room in the back seats. Also the 100 mi range will work for within Metro Manila traffic. Here in the states 250 is looked down at because of driving distance.

The Government’s job maam is to look after the welfare of the majority of its people. We are , unfortunately still a third world country.. and a lot of the government’s resources need to be focused on the people who need it most. Although adapting a cleaner environment is indeed a must, unfortunately… with limited resources.. we as a country, do not prioritise these issues because it will impact a very small portion of the population.
I do agree with you … hopefully someday when we become a richer country we can do that.

I know that it's already incorporated in the new law on alternative energy the compliance for EV Charging Station to every Gas/Petrol Station. My question, how many out there are existing at the moment? What are the expansion plans of BYD to make available Public Charging Stations, notwithstanding the fact that most FILIPINO URBAN MOTORISTS rarely would drive more than 100km in a day. Thus, generally balik kana sa bahay mo EVEN BEFORE the 405Km drains out the batteries. However, traffic as we know it eats up energy resources regardless of its source or engine type - EV or ICE. Suppose traffic wasted my energy credits by 50%, then I'd still have around 200km left. In sum, i'd still be happy if you could answer my questions. Thanks!
