Ubuntu 23.10 For Raspberry Pi 5 First look! Can I play Games?

In this video I'll be taking a first look for me at the Raspberry Pi 5 Ubuntu 23.10 64 bit OS. I've always thought that Ubuntu was a well rounded and feature rich OS, so I'll see what's installed in this distro and a general overall review. I'll test Xonotic and a red alert clone to see if it can play them. I was able to play Xonotic on my Orange Pi 5 after a lot of tweaking.

I think calling it junk is a strong word for something I'd never trust to run 3D games Lolz. Poor little thing. It was screaming at you: "I'm fine with office stuff!" I can see how tweaking can get you a better framerate like you mentioned which probably took having to set all of the game's settings to low and turning every unnecessary graphic option off like shadows, bloom, etc. Merry Christmas!

Yep your right. I was a bit frustrated testing this. But since I played xonotic on my orange pi 5 I figured this might be able to as well. Another video on this will come soon. You think it's screaming now? Just wait.. muhahaha lol. Merry Christmas!

why not, but linux not game pc. its not even desktop pc its best on server and iots raspberry pi "cheap 35buck low power computer" i mean its 60-140buck high power pc now LOL what eva they want cheat. no component mean more price. whaaat?
raspberry pi should used as it designed not like lets use ubuntu and use it as pc and forget GPIO pins and camera

Hi there. I guess I just like seeing what it can do. See if it can play a game or two because I've seen other reviews running games on it. I also see them running enulators and playing ps1 and other games. Price of $60 is what it costs here, then add in the power supply and case and memory card will easily cost $100 total. Seems a bit expensive. I agree with you. They advertise it as 3x or 4x norepinephrine powerful than the pi4 so why not test its limits? Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
