That’s pretty typical in any industry! Always keep in touch with former managers and teammates especially if the land somewhere of interest. I’ve seen managers leave my company for big tech and end up rebuilding their former team around them.

Which college? I want them to get public props - many universities made a statement, but I think it’s impressive to put out info that is easily digestible to college students and is accessible in the pandemic.
@@sarahandrews1516 It's a small private college in the midwest, but because it's so small I don't want to get more specific than that 😅I will say though that the administration has not been great about addressing things in a way that facilitates real change within the college itself, and a number of BIPOC faculty members have actually left over the last couple years because of it. So while I am really glad these resources were sent out to students, it's frustrating to realize that the administration probably isn't actually taking the messages to heart 😔
I'm constantly impressed by the team behind the Try Guys and the community they've all built together. Also, can I give a shout out to the video "Topic Masculinity," because it's one of my all time favourites and I'm so sad it didn't get more views- Kaylin, do your magic and revive that series!
The previous lives of all the staff at 2nd Try are actually so interesting! I would love to see more of the staff talking about their lives before The Try Guys! ❤
This is great in part since they built in consultants/experts. They could do so much for staff/other TH-camrs (especially if they do a 1:1 ratio) teach the Try Guys in different activities.
As a high school history teacher, I told my students to watch the Anti Asian Hate documentary and shared the link with them on Monday because it was sooo well done and so important
i love how kaylin's mom actually considered jumping off and landing on the foam pit below as the fastest way to be with her, because that's exactly what my mom would have done. it's crazy how moms would do almost superhuman things for the safety of their kids.

I’m glad “Emily in Paris” got called out a bit because I was so frustrated with that show for so many reasons and I understand a little bit of the digital marketing aspects that Kaylin does (I was a Comm major who focused on digital content and a smidge of social media 😂)! And Kaylin looks fabulous! I love getting her take on analytics & social media!

To "Sarah", the 25 year old from Vancouver: I totally feel you. I was around the same age when I first moved to Vancouver, and it is HARD to make connections here. Vancouver is a cold city (in more ways than one), and it can be very difficult to make genuine connections with people. Obviously the pandemic makes it a ton harder, but I made most of my friends through shared hobbies. If you find clubs or classes or sports teams (whatever you're into) and start going regularly, you'll start meeting cool people. They do exist! And having a shared interest will definitely help, as the ladies suggested. There are so many options for fun activities and such in the city, and I'm sure you can find something you enjoy!
I really like Kaylin’s cool raspy, deeper voice. Also Rachel is really great at interviewing, drawing out more information. During the pandemic, I found joining online groups with interests the same as mine has helped to find friends.
My advice to Sarah to anybody. It is hard to make friends as adults but feel brave to commit to following through on a Conversation with any person male/female that give off good vibes/energy. Feel brave to ask and Confirm to make plans to spend physical time together. Go for a walk at a park. Invite someone for video games at your house. Anything. Drinks/coffee/ smoothies. Does not have to be unhealthy or ethical the invitation. Just relax and feel happy to share joy and laughter with someone new.
The going for a walk is great, I would go for a stroll at lunchtime with some colleagues just to chat and get away from our desks. Definitely an easy way to break the ice
My 8 year old has been in Cheerleading for 2 years and is very dedicated, so it will be fun the watch the video of the guys trying it! Until you're able to safely create that content I'll be loyally watching all the other amazing videos.
Theatre is a wonderful way to make friends! If you’re not an actor, there’s space for director humans, lighting humans, set-building humans, stage managing humans, costume design/construction humans, the list goes on.
I was so surprised at Kaylin’s hair! I still remember when she did the Buzzfeed video about having a temporary tattoo and loving her hair then. She’s just so cool and beautiful, I love it😍😍😍
I just wanted to mention the You Can Sit With Us podcast is my favourite go-to pod and my favourite part is that I can both fall asleep to it and also just listen throughout the day and that’s a major compliment let me explain. I can listen throughout the day because it’s never boring, and always entertaining and fun to listen to, but also y’all have the best mic’s and vocal Ming voices to fall asleep to and it’s literally my go to for both and this is the only podcast that I have that’s on both lists let alone the top of both lists of pods. Keep up the great work ladies Much love from Canada ♥️♥️
Thank you ladies for mentioning Eugene's special trypod episode!!! I was hoping you guys would mention it. Its amazing and as an Asian-Canadian it hit me really hard. Love you guys and Kaylin is awesome. Please have these ladies on more often!!!
As a trans girl I relate to the viewer who emailed hardcore. I’ve never been great at making new friends and barely kept in touch with anyone from high school so this pod has been a really nice outlet for “girl talk” and I super appreciate all the great advice about so many things.

Being a social media manager/digital marketer myself, I can't explain how satisfying and relatable it was to hear words like spreadsheets, graphs, calendar, insights, data analytics and the chance of accidentally posting on work accounts on a podcast and not just on a zoom meeting, loved it 😂❤️✨
For Sara from Vancouver: that city is just sooo hard to make friends in non-pandemic times! But during the pandemic there are many groups on social media to meet new friends. Or even a support group that is for women in your field of work or hobby that you like.

I just want to say how much I loved this episode. I mean, I love all of the YCSWU episodes, but this one resonated with me so much for multiple reasons. One, my middle name is also Rae. Two, I also work in social media marketing, so everything Kaylin talked about just spoke to my soul. Heck yes, fellow data lover! And the sh*t-talking of THAT movie, THANK YOU. So infuriating how it portrayed the profession of social media. We do A LOT for our jobs, and to boil it down to a few cute selfies was demeaning. And lastly, I moved from Chicago to Florida where I only knew family, and six months later the pandemic started. It is SO HARD to make friends from scratch as an adult, so I totally get how Sara from Vancouver feels! Anyway, thank you to the YCSWU crew for always being genuine and insightful. It's so appreciated! Kaylin, I hope you get stellar data and insights from this episode!

Allstar cheerleading to be specific!!
So the Try Guys just ran from BuzzFeed and took half of the team with them.
Yeah many people in their team are from BuzzFeed that's why they call their staff their co-workers and not employees imo

The positive energy in this episode is infectious. I was giggling and laughing right along with them, which was absolutely transformative after the rest of my day. Just another shining example of why the 2nd Try Family is so amazing!
The audio comes out first so I listen to it for about 20 min then check TH-cam 😆

Listening to Kaylin talk about her injuries makes me remember my own injuries as a student-athlete 😆 and I actually tore my ACL so I 100% agree with Kaylin when she said that an ACL tear is really bad 🥲🥲🥲

Yay for Kaylin! It's nice to see the ladies from 2nd Try on the podcast!

6:14 As a current Broadcast student... who's very unsure about the field they're getting into precisely because of all the shady things in the industry... I FELT YOU, KAYLIN! I felt SEEN!
