Sir I also want to do such things.
I tried many times to collect my household plastics and after washing, to collect it.
I must say very disappointly.
That no one in my family and my parents don't allow me.
They actually don't understand my intention toward the lovely nature responsibility.
I m trying from past 1yrs .

Most of the time I carry carry bag.. if in unavoidable circumstances I have to pack groceries in plastic bag, I wash and return those plastic bags to grocery shop in the neighborhood
Always keep on doing what is right without bothering for others

Even if none of the family members understand your intentions, pls continue the good work..
I too have started collecting the plastic waste .
For the past 3 months i wash and dry milk packets and send them for recycling..
Still figuring out where to send the plastic wrappers for recycling,specially the groceries packet.
If you are purchasing groceries from mall, in some packets it is mentioned that plastic cover will be recycled.. you can purchase those groceries and can send them to their registered address..

In my city sangam PRAYAGRAJ(Allahabad) Ganga is majorly polluted by FLOWERS(used for worship at hanuman mandir and sangam) .
Natural flowers are degradable. We must avoid plastic and non degradable items. Flowers will carry the seed nd new plants will come by next season.

there is a simple solution to this,pan masala brands and cigarette brands should be forced to use bio degradable plastic instead of normal plastic,this plastic gets dissolved in water and doesnt cause pollution,this scheme can be easily implemented on cigarettes and pan masala brands as they are highly profitabe.
