Very helpful. The "key" is getting the stuck key into the "run" position. Use a hammer, lightly tap the key while turning. Move the key in and out, back and forth, until it FINALLY mover. Then remove the barrel and soak it in rubbing alcohol, turning the key back and forth until it moves freely.
First i wanna say your videos are like the bible for my repairs on my 97 sebring its green just like yours problem im having is i changed my plug wires and now i have no spark and im confussed about wether its a ground a crank sensor a cam sensor or what the hell happened because it stsrted fine before i took it apart. What makes spark cam or crank or both i dont see them breaking when it was parked
My steering wheel doesn't lock anymore, ? What needs to be done to fix this issue .? Can the locking unit be sticking or broken & will it lock when driving ???
If I could get the key to turn over to run. I wouldn't need to change it out. I'm changing it out because it won't turn. Why else would you change it out?

+David Palmer That's good the key is stuck inside the lock. You should be able to swap the cylinder. I know how on the Sebring but not sure on the LeBaron. With the Sebring, you take off the bottom plastic cover. , put the key in the run position and then press the little square detente on the bottom of the lock and the cylinder comes out. The LeBaron might work the same way. Any decent repair manual will tell you how.
I have a 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible and I have the same problem! 😂I have used the WD-40 for a week now… and itt only works once, each time I spray it after praying… can I put graphite in, without taking my entire ignition switch out ??? I am capable of the process but am not sure about rebuilding the tumbler. I don’t think my car has a key chip. It is 1 year away from being a CLASSIC!
No I took mine out with the new key from the new ignition with the second spare and only slip the key in like not even halfway and I got to roll forward into that on position like he said in the video so I could get the new one in I don't even know how I did it but I did

i would think silicone spray wouldn't attract dirt as it evaporates....I'd squirt silicone directly in the lock slot...as-is-where is. I've done it before with good results.

as far as lock cylinders go this was really easy, completed the job in less then 30 minutes. i just had to look up how to pop out the cylinder. thanks

The owners manual does not reference a "run" position. It's either ACC, LOCK, OFF, ON or START. Helpful video, thanks.

Keep spraying it with WD 40 and keep jiggling it and trying to turn it. Sometimes it might take a couple of hours, Be persistent.

As far as PCM and BCM they need to be programmed to replace. Th ignition lock itself is just a lock.
Anyone....2002 Chry LXi, best method to remove the cylinder when key is now non-existent ?, drill center out??
I have a 95 Chrysler LeBaron I have the key stuck in the ignition I can put it in drive and park it starts but I can't get the key out any suggestions

I lost my keys. Will I be able to change if I don't have a key???
You need to turn the lock tp push that pin on the bottom, so you'd need a locksmith then.
Also if you have the security chip in the key, you screwed then because a dealer will have to re-program the chip.

Any locksmith will tell you to use graphite. I used WD40 before too, but it's not the right stuff for locks.
