  • Hello, dear followers!
    Time to time I have a problem with lock joining, especially when I use a braided cord for my bag projects. It's because the bag lock has standard feet length (about 10-12mm) that are used for the lock joining. Due to the braided cord thickness (it's about 3-5 mm) the crochet staff is so big that the lock feet are not long enough to fix it on the wrong side in the normal way. I'm sure you have already faced such a problem too, that's why today I made this tutorial video about the alternative method I use for the lock joining.
    For this lesson you need the following materials:
    - a finished crochet bag;
    - a crochet you used to make the bag;
    - 3 pieces of the work yarn you used for the bag (10-12cm length);
    - a 40mm (1.57’’) buckle twist lock.
    To join the lock you need to fold the 3 pieces of the work yarn in the middle, to wrap them around every lock foot and to fix them on the wrong side of it. You can also make knots to fix them better. Then place the lock on your bag and using the hook pass all the yarn ends on the wrong side. I recommend passing them through the spaces between two rows. Fix them in pairs with knots on the wrong side of the bag. Hide ends between stitches. Your lock is fixed well!
    I hope that you'll find this tutorial useful. Don’t forget to leave likes, comments and to share this video. Such actions help to promote the chanell. Thank you for your interest. See you soon!
